Just ringing the bell for the official end to a contest that may have been more difficult/tedious then I had anticipated.

 

In honor of everyone's dedication and my pile of trade fodder, I will be adding two more free items. Which means four people will be sent items. Same as the rules in my first post.

 

The other two items are less exciting, but still free with no strings attached etc.

*Pile of random toys including some big names like Transformers, GIJoe, Batman and other toys from now, the 90s and the 80s.

I just wanted to thank everyone for participating and posting some weird/creepy/random/funny things. I enjoyed lurking in from time to time and seeing ridiculous things.

Congratulations to the rightful winners! 

 

Now, the following may make me come off as a petty low-life, but hell, I just spent almost every one of the last 90 days posting in a toy forum for just a chance to win some toys. I'm a pretty self-aware guy, so I'll just let this rock. This was a wildly generous contest hosted by Doctor Dew, and he laid out two pretty clear guidelines for participating: you must be eligible according to the date you joined the forum, and you can only post once a day. 

 

I feel the latter of the two was ignored on too many instances for it to be an honest mistake. And if it was a mistake (unlikely), the carelessness of double-posting on six or more different occasions shouldn't simply be ignored, in my opinion. 

 

Jeremy0477 double-posted on the following pages: 8, 11, 13, 17, 18, 21*, 22 and 24 (eight times; *Could be a mistake. it's the same post... though, 4 minutes apart)

Draznar double-posted on the following pages: 2, 7, 8, 20, 23 and 27 (six times)

 

Double-posting is an easy mistake, but for it to be a reoccurrence on so many occasions is interesting. I myself could be making a mistake, in which case I sincerely apologize for comments that, in the context of our little LRG world of contests and two-inch figures, could be considered slanderous. However, I do not think that's the case. 

 

While none of the alleged double-posts were chosen as the "winning" posts, obviously those were extra posts that augmented their overall chances of being chosen, and chosen they were — first and second. 

 

For what it's worth, I swear I'm not salty about not winning a toy. It's just that I've spent a fair amount of time in this contest thread (and enjoyed it!) and was careful to follow the rules the entire time as to remain eligible. I just don't feel super about the fact that the first two people chosen were also the two guys who seemed to get in several extra votes while I adhered to the contest creator's guidelines, and I'm sure there are some other users who've been grinding this contest out all summer who may not have noticed all of this, but wouldn't be particularly happy about it either. 

I feel Doctor Dew's kindness is underscored with this from his last post: "Thanks again to everyone for participating and may your toy collections and lives continue to be satisfying and fun." After however much time was spent by LRG users commenting in this thread, for things to possibly shake down this way simply isn't very satisfying nor fun.

Mollusk, let me point out that I may have double-posted, (completely unaware of that fact until now, by the way), but there were days upon days  where I didn't post at all. If anything, even with my double posts, I probably had significantly less posts than the average post count.

 

If Dr. Dew wants to disqualify me though, I can't really complain either way.

 

I just counted my posts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I posted 66 times. Over the course of 3 months, (assuming all three months have 30 days), there could be a maximum of 90 entries. Even with an additional six entries, my count is still far below the maximum post count.

 

Again, I will leave this up to Dr. Dew.

Same here Mollusk. I'm literally shocked. I work 3rd shift and noticed I did once due to EST and it being 12:45 here but not the next day on LRG (which I called myseld out). I'll gladly have my armorvor sent to someone else as my name/integrity is more important to me personally. I sincerely apologize.

Hey dudes. Please note that I never suggested you guys forfeit your winnings. I was merely pointing out some things I saw. 

 

I stared at that post for close to an hour and kept debating whether to post it, because I didn't want to call anyone out, especially at the risk of being wrong about the accusation. I wasn't sure there was even a point to posting because it's kind of an awkward situation. However, ultimately I decided to click "Post" just so some people could maybe get an explanation. 

 

You guys say you did it unintentionally, which despite it happening several times, is good enough for me, because I feel like those of us who've been consistently posting in here have oddly grown together a little over this summer grind, and you guys haven't ever come off as jerks or schemers during that time. Though, it's of course hard to say because I don't personally know y'all and the post thing isn't exactly in your favor. 

 

But as I said, I have no intention in trying to tarnish you guys' reputations or make you give back your prizes. I've said it several times that Doctor Dew put on a great contest, and I just felt like more effort should have been put in on trying to honor one of two rules set out by a guy who's giving great prizes away for free. When one of two rules is "Only one post per day," it just doesn't seem like too much to think "Oh, did I already post today? Let me check before doing so again."
