Everyone's always hating on poor Gidan; I like him! I admit that I hated the look of him initially but getting the figure in-hand changed my mind immediately. Pigeon I'm OK with because there's something distinctly Japanese about that headband that makes me want to give him a free pass. I completely agree with you however about Leparmint, completely disappointed with that sculpt.
Did you get in for the first wave of these figures or did you decide against buying them before they were released? I know that I was on the fence at first, but I started appreciating the line a lot more after getting them in my hand and having a look at them in person. And of course, unless you happen to be an OCD completionist, you could just buy the figures you like instead of going in for the whole set.
Pretty busy these days so a little slow with my replies, sorry for that.
I did buy the first two waves of the BS because it would not be fair to judge them based on the pics and info out here. As everyone else I was just as curious to hold the first figs in hand because we've living towards that moment for months and although already a lot was known or expected to be known holding the figure is the only way to judge it. From the beginning the clear presence of the not that well integrated Dice was in issue for me and together with the material the design and the feeling with the figs it resulted in the fact that I wasn't to into them after the first wave. But there is a huge difference between one sculpt and another in the design so there are some that I realy like while others are way from what I hoped to see. But your spot on with mentioning about the completionist because you can put me on that list for sure so that means I wont be able to buy just the single figs I like because I know that in the end I'll end up buying them all while 60% or more are figs I'd realy not be interested in. I might make an exception for the Manta Ray though as he's pretty bad ass

But its good to see that with the BS a lot of new collectors came on board and that the energy and updates are spreading out here because its been a while there's been so much activity within a BB topic as there is just not much news to mention anymore and just rarely some new issues are being discovered while with these fellows its just a matter of hours/days until scoops or new info shows up. Its nice to keep an eye out in this topic.
Enjoy the Beast Saga!

Haha, yeah I should mention that I said that in all earnest knowing that I probably belong to that group too.

You're right though about it having a positive influx on the collector's community. I hadn't even thought about my Battle Beasts collection in over ten years, then suddenly I hear that two different lines were attempting to revive them (boy, was that Mini-mates idea ever a fail though...) That's what got me Googling them again, which quickly led to this board and the active pursuit of my collection again. It's great fun!

When does BBTS typically ship receive stuff/ship it out? I pre-ordered the turtle and manta-ray figures last week, but I haven't received any other info other than my receipt.
You pre-ordered the turtle this week?

I thought it was weird too, since I believe he's been available for awhile now. I assumed it meant they were out of stock and were re-stocking soon. I have no idea. All I know is that I am currently turtle-less so hopefully they send him soon.

I wish they'd open some preorders for some new characters already. I put my preorders in for the March figures way back in October. We haven't had any news of new figures coming out since then.
It's a little surprising to me we haven't seen more stuff. I dunno what to expect at this point, but I see a ton of characters in the Anime I'd like to see made.

didn't they somewhat recently put up pre-orders for series 3 and 4 of the blind box figures? I noticed there's only 6 per series also this time.

We've already seen the Fox figure. He looks way different than the cartoon version. There is a pic of him in fact, on the home page of the official BS site.

I think he means the character behind the elephant and parakeet on the main landing page of the Beast Saga website. That character is yellow, with purple armor, but it matches the anime fox perfectly in sculpt. The anime looks better though.
Sorry to jump in right away, as I just joined the site. I look forward to posting in the future. I love Beast Saga, and am collecting all the figures.

Yeah I'd noticed him in that shot and one other expo photo I had seen from Japan a while back, but I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'way different'? His armor in the home-page photo looks to be more purple, but I noticed someone got a little over-zealous with the color balancing on that image (look at Coelacanth's armor). Can't really see much of him other than that, but from the head/shoulders he appears to be very similar to the anime to me. As far as I'm concerned though, there's always a possibility that a figure's appearance will change up until I see a release photo. I don't feel confident I know what this guy's going to look like any more than I do the Mandrill or Salmon.

Yeah, I just took a look at the artwork on his card and realized that the head-piece to his armor is actually a robotic lobster....I might make an exception for the Manta Ray though as he's pretty bad ass

That has to be one of the coolest armor accents I've seen so far!

Pretty decent battlelot for an 'Impact' type.

Oh you mean this guy:

That didn't occur to me, I thought he was a Coyote or something, but yeah I see the armor does look the same. They may change the armor's colors in a final release, the Zebra looks very different to his original colors as well

Yeah, I liked the way the Zebra looked when we first saw him better. Really funky looking, but cool. Either way he'll be a cool character.

Serasu is a bit plain, he could haveu sed a spot of paint on his armor somewhere. Pafamu has the same sword as Aldyle... I guess he's a water buffalo?

I didn't originally planned on gettng Tsurafu but I liked his personality in the anime. He's a bit goofy but he gets all badass when someone bonks him on the head hehehehe.
For some reason the art on Burst Captain Eagle's card is modified from his regular card! On it he's shown shooting his Battlelot (or would that be Cyclot now?)! He's in the same pose and all but you can clearly see the shining green energy cube. I got Burst Golder from the same serie and it doesn't have that, neither do any of my previous Burst cards. Sadly didn't come with any special dice :/

I know I'm terribly far behind in collecting these, being a self-proclaimed #1 fan of the originals, I feel they are a worthy successor. But my money is just too tied up in other things, like Glyos, to begin another collection. I will wait to see if they are ever released to the US, and, if not, I will have to go through you, the other collectors, or learn the process you go through to obtain them from across the globe. Because they truly are cool.
There was nothing at this year's ToyFair so we can assume these aren't coming to the US this year. If we're lucky they'll come along in fall 2014 when Hasbro stops being stupid.
As for where we got them it's fairly easy. I order mine from BigBadToyStores.
