It's not up to me to prove it - if someone doesn't want to release pics of their collection I don't think I should be the one to do it for them. All I am saying is that there is at least another.

I am not arguing with anyone, or taking sides. Hell, I dont care. All I am doing is letting you know the facts.

I would be willing to bet good money that you have not seen ANY other Red #134 figures - I will go on record as saying that there are the exact same Red 134 figures as Red 68 figures & in the community that number is 1 right now

Veers hasn't even seen one except on Soupie's page, the figures are also from the same tree which adds more confirmation of my theory

"Calm down", then a pissing contest ensues.

If that banter is friendly, it should probably still be taking place in a PM.

I still don't understand the concept of secretive collecting. I guess I understand if someone were hesitant or ashamed to show their collection to the general public for fear of ridicule or whatever, but on a toy collecting forum I have to wonder about the motive for, "I collect this line of toys but you'll never know what I have because of reasons.".

Maybe I'm missing something.

Personally, I always share images of what I collect if anyone wanted to see them. Most of my collection is made from durable plastic materials, which means it's likely that much of it will still be here when I am long gone. It makes me less of an owner, and more of a custodian. I don't believe I have any right to deprive other people the right to see the things I own have custody of, especially the rarer stuff. I can't get my head round the secretive, non-sharing mindset.

I saw a 134 red sell in an ebay auction, about 2-3 years ago.
It was in a decent size lot.

I remember it clearly, as the seller was from Oklahoma City, which caught my eye because I also live in Oklahoma, plus it's odd to see these outside of Canada.

If the reason for being secretive is understandable and respectable, the individuals who remain secretive would have to explain their reasoning. Otherwise, I can sum it up in three words that I'm not going to post in a public venue.

I know a few people here who choose not to share their collections and i respect that choice. This place is a bit more quiet then it used to be but in the past there have been instances where someones shows off something cool they picked up and  lots of people try pretty hard to buy or trade it from them. Sometimes the rejection leads to passive-aggressive trolling because some people act like babies when they don't get what they want. I think there is a huge difference between someone keeping their collection to themselves so they will be left alone and someone actually feeling like they need to hide something.

I also know people here who hide their ebay dealing as best they can and for good reason. If you dig deep in the junkyard you'll see instances where people stalk other peoples ebay wins and actually try and buy stuff from sellers AFTER it has sold to the other member. I recall someone specifically stopping S-dog from getting an auction he won for some killer bad eggz by informing the seller how much they could get for the toys if they listed them differently.

That being said i have no idea who won this auction and i have no idea why it's even a valuable figure and i mostly don't care. It sounds like their are lots of behind the scenes things going on here that are beyond me but i just wanted to say that not everyone who keeps their toys to themselves does it for a selfish reason.

At the same time people who do share their stuff deserve praise as well. People like jackson and frank constantly introduce me to new lines i never knew existed and are ALWAYS so helpful when i ask stupid questions about what/where/when/how. People like them keep me coming back here every day and checking their instagrams as well. I appreciate all that effort for the sake of sharing stuff with other people who love silly toys.

I mean, obsessive, nagging collectors are why I keep most of my collection to myself. Not all collectors are like that, but the ones that are feel like everything has a price, and they can be pretty relentless. I know one member here, that had to get his board name changed, to stop being harassed over toys he didn't want to sell or trade off.

Plastico does bring up one point that I hope doesn't get lost in this whole discussion: "If you dig deep in the junkyard you'll see instances where people stalk other peoples ebay wins and actually try and buy stuff from sellers AFTER it has sold to the other member"... Keep in mind, this happens somewhat regularly, and is pretty f*cking creepy.

Why would anybody want to share what they have, when it could lead to that?

You don't even have to dig deep in the Junkyard to find that information. All you need to do is read the relevant pinned threads in Sightings and Marketplace Discussion. I highly encourage newer members to do exactly that--just don't make too much mention of the disgraced, and definitely don't promote their auctions.

Fair enough, I guess that would account for the "must be missing something" bits, as I didn't realize that kind of activity was such an issue. But yes, that's pretty creepy/obsessive behavior, I guess I've just been lucky to not have experienced this myself (or I don't have anything anyone gives a damn about ;) )

That's crazy and creepy. I am glad I haven't had an experience like that. I've had people ask about buying/trading certain stuff but they haven't pushed after I said I wanted to keep it. I like to photograph, document and discuss pretty much everything in my collection, usually in multiple places (my sites, here, social media), so I feel lucky I have had pretty much exclusively positive experiences with other collectors.

At the same time people who do share their stuff deserve praise as well. People like jackson and frank constantly introduce me to new lines i never knew existed and are ALWAYS so helpful when i ask stupid questions about what/where/when/how. :)

A big part of the fun of collecting for me is documenting stuff online, researching it, digging up info and discussing it with other collectors. Can't be sure, but if that part of it were removed my interest in the whole thing would probably decrease quite a bit.

You make great points about why some people might not want to be as open with it, and again, I'm lucky I haven't had to deal with crazies!

Speaking of which, do you want to sell any of your Trash Bag Bunch series 2 figures, lol?
