Thanks That Walrus is actually a painted white on the body and white plastic arms.  That's a good idea on the "Dream of the Fisherman's wife Octopus.  Hokusai has long been one of my favorite artists.  More for his woodcuts though.  The Octopus would also look cool as Admiral Akbar "It's a trap!"

I think an Octillon in that color would look really cool. Also, a Blue Ringed Octopus version, too. And really, everything in Coral looks awesome. Is the Coral Zariganian also $30 like the other "Common Laser Beasts"?

Yeah, If you wanted a custom cast Zarganian painted however, it would be $30.

Thanks, I try to paint them more like how the sculptor might have intended.  I'm always looking at "color chords" or combinations of colors that go well together.

Man, every time I think I've made an ideal "checklist" to get all the cool colors I can think of, you go and release a metallic one like the "Arctic Masters" or something in a color I couldn't have imagined. I mean, "Clear Icy Guys" like your Golden Eagle? I'd have never thought of that. Psychedelic Koala looks awesome, too. Not a lot of Beasts were purple (in color or with armor), leaving that an unexplored territory as well. Some more questions:

 

1) How is the Orochi made? Giraffe bits, added with one of the Laser Beasts and an original head?

 

2) How many of Battle Dromaeus have you made thus far? I only see the one.

 

3) Is there a list of colors you can cast in? I thought I saw one, but I can't find it.

 

4) Regarding shiny metallic colors for the Beast's armor or skin, is it easier to cast in that color, or to cast in another and then paint it?

 

5) What are the hardest Beasts to cast properly? I assume all Laser Beasts are tough, but what about the regulars? I would imagine the Porcupine would be nearly impossible to do right should you ever make one of him. Octillon Octopus has arms that aren't in 2-D, making him tougher than the Cuttlefish, I'd bet. Plus there's the Spider's tiny lil' legs.

Sure, 1) Orochi is made with a Tigerburn body and a movable "Pirate Orochi" Beyblades head.  He is the only custom figure with a head I didn't sculpt by hand from sculpey clay.  Vader and Skeletron are also made with this movable joint and will fit on Beyblades top figures.  

  2) I have only made the one finished Battle Dromaius so far but he will be featured in my "Down Under" deluxe set coming soon.  His machine gun arms can be used on other beasts as well.

  3)  Clear, any color semi translucent, any color of Glitter, Metallic Gold; Silver, Pearlescent, any color opaque, Glow in the dark Blue.

  4) It depends on what color it's going over.  The silver on the Polar Force is painted on.  But if I want Gold armor on a guy, it's easier to cast him in gold and paint the skin parts.  I would like to experiment with taping off and spray painting some figures, but it does seem like a lot of work in prep.  

  5) You hit the nail on the head with this one.  Octopus' body came out great, but his arms came out like shit.  The shoulder spikes came out and the hands, but the other 2 tentacles did not.  I will have to remake his arm mold with some vents.  My porcupine has been on the sidelines for the same reason.  It's been quite a learning process so far, but they're only getting better.  Dragon Seahorn's tusk was vented but Puzzlecolor's horn was not and he came out great, so it really depends on the figure, what I can get away with.

Yeah, I figured- I did a "reverse checklist" for the ones that hadn't been made yet, and sure enough, most of them are either winged (though you do have Blue Eagle) or have lots of little bits sticking off in weird directions (Moose, Octopus, Porcupine). I used to do sculpture in college, so I can see some of the difficulties- normally in sculpture you'd cut things off and sprue them separately, but that's not really practical when you're making 1-piece things out of resin. It's especially bad with figures this tiny, because even a little bubble will cover a huge chunk of space.

Most of the best ones have been made, anyhow. I think the only ones on my "checklist of ideas" that haven't been made yet are the Octopus & Moose. 

I`m still trying to come up with other combinations that might be cool. Maybe a Spotted Skunk variant of the Weasel? I think most of the lizard-types (Chameleon, Leaping, Iguana) are cool and detailed enough to work with just about any combo. Curiously, I'm finding that almost every Beast in the line looks amazing in white- three of my four "Special Order" ones have white bases, and they all just "pop" incredibly well.
