Stoneyface, I dont think you were wrong in any of your actions for the record. Like URS said, I am so used to hearing about Alex's shady bs over the last ten years that it almost doesnt even surprise me anymore. I believe there is two reasons he bid as Balucard, one he obviously cant bid as Arf due to previous transactions, and two, to bid the price of that damn thing higher for any of us who wanted it. I am glad he got stuck with it, and I am glad someone didnt get into a bidding war against douche's fake account. Had he won it for like $900 rather than 200 we most likely would see it up on ebay again and another false negative against the seller. We may even see that anyways because after a dozen BHS's why would you pay even 200 for another one. I think like usual, he was trying to screw someone else and not really trying to win this piece.

#3 was that he had it retracted and money refunded under the arforbes acct and then tried to feedback blackmail the seller into giving it up for $10. so he probably felt bidding under arforbes again would have been risky. who knows how his mind works, how many times do you think he has rolled around naked in a pile of SR's? you thought about it and thought he would do that didn't you?

alls i'm sayin is we can bee-eye-itch about him taking every sr that comes up, that's bs but he really didn't rip anyone off here so warning the seller ain't gonna do anything, he's still gonna take the $200 as would anyone. and realistically, it would take an act of god for a board member to get him banned from ebay and if that day ever came, he would get another account, so it doesn't matter. he ain't goin anywhere, his obsession ain't changin and unless someone went to arizona and robbed him, those f'n srs will be buried with him. i just don't really see any point in getting more worked up about it other than bee-eye-itching on a thread, ya know?

Personally, I think it's great that Alex loves Muscle collecting so much, despite his questionable behavior, he has greatly contributed to the history of the board and the Muscle hobby in the past, and despite his absence still does on occasion. I think it would be wrong to attempt to take something away from someone when they truly enjoy it. But like many have mentioned, he has needlessly let his personal vendetta toward members of this board affect the hobby in a very serious manner. If he is bidding on SR's and spending all he wants on them because he just wants them, fine. But to bid up auctions so others can't buy them is a tad unfair as well as greatly selfish. Wrong? Probably not so much, but selfish none the less. There are many Muscle collectors who are not associated with this community who also lose out because of this. Whether or not he is actually doing this is of debate, and probably a completely unnecessary one. If someone can offer more money for something you want than you can, what are you gonna do? Alex controls the market on SR figures right now, and as long as he is determined to buy all or most that pop up, he will always control it. Problem is, the more he does this the less valuable they become. Who's gonna bid on something if they know they won't win it? I would not be surprised in the least that within a few years time, if a SR figure pops up on eBay, where everyone can see it, that almost nobody will bid on it. Cause you know who is gonna win it anyway.

I guess what I'm saying, is it's fine to hate or dislike someone, or a group of people if you want to. But It's a little over kill to intentionally cripple a hobby just cause you got the means to do so. His actions are actually affecting a world wide hobby! Why would you want to do that cause you don't like a handful of individuals? That's like saying you hate the Jewish guy down the road so you are gonna infiltrate your government and instill racist ideals into the people, then encourage separation, and finally attempt to eliminate all Jewish people... Is that example a little overkill?? Saying Alex is the Hitler of the Muscle community?

Shucks, it's a good thing colored figures are too common, or he would probably try to buy all those and mark em up too. Now look... I ended up typing a big post about this, and I didn't even want too. :( I'm glad I collect other things. :p

Wow! He actually Blackmailed this seller? When did this happen? How do you know this? Has he reportedly done this before? That seems way out of character to me. He has been shady, dishonest, flat out lied, down played condition, etc, but never heard of him doing something stupid like that. If this is true, it puts him on a whole new level of crazy in my book. I guess it's true that once you find you can get away with a little, you try to push it further the more you do so.

Look at the quoted posts at the top of this thread. There was a previous transaction between Alex and the seller. Look at the feedback for both.

my only motive is that i am tired of seeing people being victimized, and taken advantage of by this person who is breaking actual rules. if people are uncomfortable with the topic, then by all means close the thread. my intention is not to upset lrg members at all. it's just that people like this just rub me the wrong way and make me want to stand up to them. my reason for posting it here is pass on info to the community that he may be looked into. that is it. the fact that the seller rec'd two other emails was a major factor in me posting anything further as i thought that there was interest.

please please please don't take offense and feel free to delete my posts or the whole thread if you think it threatens the LRG community well being or camaraderie in any way. i will even refrain from posting further about this issue if you think it best. as i said my motivation was to stop further victimization.

stoneyface

I was the first bidder on that stupid figure. The fact is I was at work and there was a good chance I would have lost the auction. What pisst me off is Alex snatch it away from me with his other accounts. I wouldnt have sweat it if he would have won with his original account.

ok seriously, either i'm drunk or this chain is insane. smokin - if you wanted to spend $200 on this, why did u stop there? why not $215, $225 or $250? i'm so lost here right now that i'm actually defending a douche... seriously - no offense (even though it will be taken) but he didn't have to work that hard to "snatch it" from you

I totally overlooked that quote! Crazy stuff man. Alex must have been desperate to get it cheap. I've had instances where I won rare stuff cheap, then offered the seller more money cause I thought I was cheating them. I've also had the seller decide he didn't want to sell it, which sucked but was fine with me. But to blackmail someone into selling you something valuable for cheap is low.

I remember one time when I was collecting comics, there was a guy who sold comics at the fleamarket. He accidentally stuck a very expensive issue in the $.50 cent box, and an old lady found it. When he told her it wasn't supposed to be there, and it was a mistake, the old lady refused to give it back. The guy was a real good guy, sucked up the loss and let the mean old lady buy it. I can't recall if money exchanged hands before she refused, but I can only assume it did, as I would have gladly told the old lady she couldn't have it if it were valuable. My mistake or not.

Well, I think it's important for anyone to be able to vent frustrations somewhere, so to talk about this sort of thing is probably healthy overall.

I think newer members just don't understand the strong reaction because they haven't experienced it themselves. People don't usually feels so strong about things they have only heard about. I sincerely doubt anyone here is trying to protect their toy source.

Nah...your just hung over from last night New Years party.

Just kidding man. Maybe your missed somthing there. I was at work. Nowhere near a computer. I would have bid a little higher, but I also have my limits. $200 is a little to high and I wouldnt have bought it with a crazy price tag either.

What I mean "snatch it away from me". No one had bid the figure except me. Alex cant bid on it says the seller. He's useing other account to bid. Knowing he cant use his original account to bid. Thats like I walk up to you and I sold you something "lets say crack" and we made transaction. You turn around, I whoop the crap out of you and took your crack. Just joking with the crack joke.

Dude, why do you even care what he bid. The point is, that he may have won it if Alex hadn't sniped him, regardless of whether he bid $200 or $300, I can guarantee you Alex would have sniped him anyway and outbid him. So stop cloggin up the thread with these Long quotes that lends nothing to the topic please.

I am a man with a mind like a child,

My favorite part of this thread. :)

This is a bummer. But I think it has become clear. The people that want to be aware of Alex's shady and/or odd behavior should post about it and talk about it (I will be in this group). The people that don't want to talk about it, should skim right over it.

It simply stuns me that people feel compelled to defend his behavior. Oh, and URS - he tried to blackmail me before too. It is common behavior for him.
