Veers purple claw on eBay

I would have a hard time spending the $300-$400 which is the value previously established before this mess. Not to mention the damn thing is purple. Not the coolest color . Only the fact they are hard to find is what causes them to skyrocket in price. M.U.S.C.L.E.S. prove to be a very expensive hobby if you get down to getting every color of every sculpt made.
I think Veers just wanted to "see" how much someone was willing to bid so he could add some "experiment" to his UofM website. To have something to talk about so to speak. I believe he never was going to sell it. Or else he would have. He was simply trying to create a "big event of 2010". Which I think he accomplished.
As for Forbes he will always be a force to be reckoned within the M.U.S.C.L.E. community. He has money, interest, obsession, and spite for many members here. The only way someone will obtain a SR or Purple #153, at what some would call a "reasonable" price is through private sale on here. Or finding one in a lot of muscles that went unoticed or at the bottom of a pile where it could not be seen.
Just my two cents

Yes, my reserve was high. Really high. But I'm not dying to sell that figure. It is simply a perfect Purple figure. I set a reserve that would have forced me to sell it. If it sold, then I'd be forced to get off my butt and clean my painted Purple #153. Well, it didn't happen.
As for Alex, who cares? He listed another Purple claw after mine. Why? Again, who cares? Although the assumption that it was an evil plan between Alex and I is beyond insane. I don't hate Alex, but I certainly don't want to "partner" with him. I can't believe I'm even responding to the idea.

As for the BS, what is?

ya know i have a lot of things that i would sell if someone offered me an assload of money for but i don't go around flaunting them in front of the people that desire them to see if they'll possibly give me an insane amount of money for them
it's just bs, it's a dick move and the bottom line is you were just testing the waters, you got people excited that didn't have a shot from the beginning and that's wrong

What if somebody sold most of their collection to raise money in hopes of winning, only to find out it was never realisticlly obtainable. Save your money, cause somethin else might pop up.

big but here.. veers got to keep his claw AND a rare purple claw has been liberated from the clutches of the true dark emperor of muscle collecting. i hope ARF is somewhere saying "D'oh!" over the fact that one slipped away in his haste to be a d*cktard.
just a thought.

i like to look at it this way. sure ARF got a bunch of money out of it but he has never been hurting for money obviously as he has paid exorbitant amounts for super-rares in the past. i KNOW he post his purple claw out of spite and to take money away from veers but...

I dont think ARF actually sold the purple claw.

I was the high bidder on Veers' Claw, and I DO NOT think what happened was BS. He protected his investment because he knew what his auction could cause. He was smart. I do not hold anything against him.

I think this talk of dishonesty or malice is ridiculous. Please don't judge from disappointment people.

I think the rancor from AF is bleeding over to Veers. Everyone knew there was a reserve starting out, Veers never promised that it would be below any such and such value. Reserves' have a specific purpose, I think if I had something I might sell, but only if I could get a lot for it, then I might do the same thing. It didn't sell because the reserve wasn't met, no more, no less. So some people got disappointed, to say that it was malicious is absurd, especially about someone whom everyone who's been here a while should be plenty familiar with by now.

Agree. Reserve is available for a reason.

whatever, it was an experiment from the beginning for chad's research & nothing more.

Unless Veers has anything more to say (which I think enough has already been said), I think now is a good time to close this thread.
