es, his name is Karasu(crow)... like a Karasu-Tengu (crow tengu). And a whole lot of Tengu are black, not red. He's really clearly Tengu-themed, even though his name points more toward being a crow. It's probably because he isn't a long-nosed or a dog tengu.

Or maybe it's Karasu because it's just a plain ol' crow? Crows have a lot of significance here in Japan too as they are often synonymous with Death.

I can see we are clearly on opposite sides of the fence here but to me, he's always gonna be Karasuman/Crowman until the word Tengu is mentioned. (But his name will be still be the same I guess...)

Talking of Yokai, I wonder if they have ever been any Chojin based on Kappa? (I've never read nisei so I wouldn't know if there has!)

Looks like the Justice Chojin are on their way to cheer on The Ninja.

The Ninja usually doesn't fare well against ninjas and samurais :'(

I thank you for your translation on Jack Tea Faucetman or whatever, and agree with you here. If he refers himself as Crowman, there is no need to change it because of what you think it looks and/or what can you relate it. I think it would be like changing Sunshine to Guymadeofsandabletotransformintopyramidsandotherstructureswithasunlogoonhischestman.

Agreed 100%!!

Wow! What a chapter huh?

Interestingly there's a spelling mistake (I think) of Karasuman's move that he repeatedly tries using on the Ninja. It's spelt as "Crow Peek" or "Crow Peak" (not sure which) but then a few pages later it's says "Kuchibashi" (beak) with the word "Peek/Peak" written alongside it! Lol

It's obviously supposed to be "Crow Beak" but it's misspelt with a P instead of a B! Interesting!!

Darn, with all those weeks without any chapters it figures that I'd miss two in a row that were new.  Oh well, missed Singman's actual death (at least I saw his defeat) and I missed The Ninja and Crowman make their big entrances.  Never again!  Anyway, great chapter this week.  Hopefully The Ninja's getting ready to unleash his Inferno Hell.

It's certainly looking like he is! Personally I think Karasuman is shaping up to be a one-trick pony with his constant Crow beak attacks...

Btw, how many of you live in the UK? I was gonna post this elsewhere yet I wasn't sure if it deserved it's own thread but, Shimada-sensei told me on Facebook that Yudetamago might be making an appearance at an Anime festival next year? I haven't lived in England for the past 15 years so I don't know what festival he could be talking about but, if it happens, you heard it here first!! (And I will fly home for the occasion for sure!)

Well, If they indeed do make an appearance, I'm VERY sure you'll get to meet them! I'll ask Shimada-Sensei to keep me posted! I have a feeling they are gonna try and create a Kinnikuman presence in the UK. Fingers crossed!!

Apologies for the double post but I just wanted to say that I've finally caught up with the Tankobon releases having just finished reading vol.47 now.

This takes me up to chapter 90. I kinda missed the planetman and sunshine fights so I was wondering if anybody had the images for ch.91-102? I would be really grateful if somebody could do a zip of those!!

Now that I've more or less caught up, I guess I can help out with providing translation help for those trickier parts? I'm a pretty busy guy so I can't do anything on the scale of what F.I.A used to do but I should be able to help with some stuff...

Man, the 22nd seems so far away now.... BOOOO!!

Yude in the UK, eh? I'm from England, but I won't be able to attend that anime con. Speaking of the UK, surely others have noticed that most/all of the UK characters in Kinnikuman are awesome badasses, right? Do Yude like England or something?

Do you know what con he could be talking about? I would genuinely love to fly home and see Yude in my home country!

Well, Nakai-sensei is a HUGE Rolling Stones fan and I know that Shimada-sensei admires our boxing heritage. When I was drinking with him, he was very curious about England and wondered if people liked wrestling there or not....

I'm in doubt. The Ninja was smiling before he receives the brutal attack Karasuman, I have the impression that he will not be defeated with this move (I would understand the situation of the Ninja if I knew Japanese).

Indeed! I must admit that I REALLY like Karasuman. He looks cool and is super fast.... but I don't think he's gonna win this.

The Ninja was smiling because Karasuman gloated about outwitting the Ninja when he constructed that nest to catch himself in. He then proceeded to grab The Ninja and proclaim that it's HIS turn to face death. The Ninja smiles and says "All living things must die. There's nothing to be afraid of. However, I can hear the voice of Akuma Shogun telling me my time has not yet come!" Karasuman  puts the Ninja in a move called "Crows Bombs Away!" as our heroes arrive on the scene. The final caption hints that The Ninja may have a final countermeasure up his sleeve so.... who knows? Maybe it'll end in a draw?

Was just flicking through the newly released fanbook and Karasuman and his profile are actually in there!

He was actually #19 of 20 Chojin selected by Yude from reader contributions. (#1 is a guy called Giraffeman who looks BADASS btw!)

Anyways, Karasuman was selected because Nakai-sensei loved the idea of basing a Chojin on a Crow. Shimada-sensei also says that he loved the crow idea and was immediately keen on using him as bad guy!

Karasuman

Height: 260cm

Weight: 190kg

Country of Origin: Nepal

So now we know!

They do? which ones do you mean? I know Suguru has Japanese nationality as he grew up there but what other ones are there?
