Pretty much what Aelia said.

Strong was also known as the "Merciful God". Essentially he was one of the original 200 Chojin Gods who created Man and the Chojin. When the Chojin started making factions (Idol/Devil) and fighting among one another, the Gods decided to exterminate all Chojin using the Capillaria rays. The Merciful God (AKA The Man), disagreed and volunteered to leave his position as god and become a chojin in order to protect a handful of chojin (The Perfect Origin) and lead them. The other gods agreed and the rest as they say is history.

Basically this, but the ancient Choujin of the past had no factions, they just wanted to take everything for themselves. Goldman and Silverman directly founded the Devil and Justice Choujin themselves when they left the Origin.

I think anyone who believes it necessary and is capable of killing their own disciples for losing a battle evil. Even if it is for some twisted code, taking a life without remorse is inherently evil. That's why the Devil Chojin carry that name.

Although from my recollection, I can't recall whether Strong has actually 'Killed' anyone yet. The mountain brought it on himself, and the rest of the Perfects commit suicide or were killed by the Devils. Still, he appears to advocate these actions, and he did threaten Peak-a-boo.

I suppose how many people he has killed depends on how responsible you think he is for the followers of his outmoded ideology.

That is a bit sad, especially since seemingly every other franchise they make figures for has something new coming up.

I wish he'd put his helmet back on for some reason, possibly when refereeing a match between two important characters. If he doesn't put it back on for any reason then it'll look like inserting him into the lore was really tacked on.

That's like asking how he fit those huge horns into that helmet. He is a God, our arguments are invalid.

I just assumed he used the wrassle god equivalent of sucking in your gut to fit into a pair of jeans that are a size too small.

You've got some fans.

Who are they talking about? Us? Whoever they are, they sound like a jerk, especially for berating who I'm guessing is us for not learning Japanese. I remember saying I wanted Neptune King to come back, but I'm long past hoping they are Strong the Budo. In particular, I'd like to know what the deal is with the armor.

I won't name any names, although it isn't too hard to find out. I just thought I'd share this with you all because I know the people involved like to read (and occasionally post in) this thread and britch about it elsewhere. It'd be nice to just let people have opinions and talk about what they want without acting like they're inferior because of it, you might disagree or be annoyed for whatever reason, but it isn't hurting anyone.

Who am I kidding though, this is the internet, so even in the fan-base for something as niche as Kinnikuman, this was bound to happen!

It looks like he's directly referencing me. Let's not pretend this new series isn't fan servicey towards fans of the original.

It could always be worse. You could be watching someone spit blood and fire over "onii-chan" showing up in the subtitles for some Japanese kid's show.

It is, but as far as I've read it is in a way that develops certain characters and factions so that they are a little more three dimensional than they were in the original run. I vastly prefer this over bringing stuff back without any thought as to how it'd fit in.

Lot of Suguru slapstick this chapter. Seems the inevitable fight with Nemesis is coming!

Spoiler

In this instance, yeah, it looks like it, but there seems to be a lot of general dislike aimed at this thread over there. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what they think, but I figured it's better to know than have this go on behind people's backs, especially when it includes people who post in this thread.

I feel so bad right now... I should just quit my job, break up with my girlfriend and get over with my life. Then fly to japan and study as hard as I could to learn just about as much as I can to understand what I'm looking at every week. That or commit seppuku for being such a bad fan. Shame on me.

I like The Man finally caring about their own. Will the next fight start after they have time to be ready? We've got a ton of things happening without anyone resting at all but the KOed ones.

I'm just gonna throw this out there, but one of the persons involved already apologized on their blog, specifically to Proteus. I don't really feel comfortable with posting even a screenshot because I really dislike doing that kind of thing without consent.

If they are reading this, I apologize if I'm already stepping out of line by mentioning it. I also want to thank you for liking and reblogging my fanart. Every single art post is a battle with my anxiety and, while this may sound pathetic, I felt a lot braver when you did that. In my eyes, you are not a bad person. Far from it.

Edit: On the topic of the new chapter though, I like that The Man is showing concern...but also looks like he's about to bust a vein. Again. "These damn kids, they just don't listen." Had a chuckle at some of the slapstick as well.

Also, just came back from a convention. I only bought one very small piece of Kinnikuman merch though.

Saw it myself, I won't apologise for mentioning it but I will say good on them for having the decency to do so, most people wouldn't be willing to do that so well done to them for doing the right thing. If any of the involved parties are reading, if you have a disagreement or want to share a differing opinion to what people are saying here, please go ahead and do it here if you feel like it, after all, this thread is for discussion! I'm not the most active poster so I won't even try and act like any kind of authority, but I'm confident everyone's reasonable enough that it wouldn't be a problem!

I apologise for derailing things, topic-wise. At the end of the day, we're all here for Kinnikuman, and I'm personally grateful that there's anywhere we can go to discuss it at all.

I won't derail the thread any further beyond this post, but I was never really offended by the comment, and I respect that they apologized. I felt they criticized me for the wrong reasons or took my posts, predictions and wish-lists out of context or misunderstood.

For example, I was aware The Man was not Neptune King not long after he appeared, someone, I forget who, specifically stated that The Man basically said he was someone else entirely and that Neptune King was basically disqualified from the Perfect Chojin for breaking their rules. My desire for Neptune King to show up is for him to actually win a match by himself and show off that he is actually a formidable opponent. A large part of this new series is about giving characters their due.

And speaking of which, when is Neptune Man going to do something? I assume he's still in the Perfect Chojin headquarters, you know, the one that is in ruin and now has a huge gaping hole leading to the Underworld where anyone who has died recently can escape from? I will never stop wanting Robin Mask and Neptune Man to team up for a tag-match in this arc.

In the end, I think predictions, theories and wish-lists are a part of the fun of keeping up with the comic as it is periodicily updated. Some of our predictions and theories have even been true, and it's always worth remembering to expect the unexpected in this series.

I was under the impression that they locked Neptuneman away somewhere nonspecific and that he's still locked up.
