I'm sure you guys are right about either an SDCC version or a running change in green, and that would be cool. I'd even be tempted to hunt down one myself if it happened (especially at awesome Amazon prices), only I'd keep it unlike my former Galactus.

The problem is that I don't know how well the mass appeal for the figure would work. If Foom became relevant in comics or a cartoon again, especially in muted colors like this, I could see it working. It's like the Sentinel release. Who wants a Sentinel in that color scheme? Kids (with money, hah) or newer collectors that don't care might go for it, but the version fans really wanted was an SDCC exclusive. Even if there's a running change, the originals aren't going to sell all that fast, because "nobody" wants them!

EDIT: Okay, so at least there's two orange-Foom appearances I can cite, even if this one is merely an altered reprint. It's still weird. Where are the hordes of fans demanding an orange Fin Fang Foom?

EDIT2: Fin Fang Foom. Fin Fang Foom. Fin Fang Foom! I LOVE that name!

Silver Surfer is definitely on Netflix, but if you want that for Galactus in action, hahaha. All he does is sit around and let his machines do the eating. You get a ton of exposition from him and that's about it. At the time that show was made, I think most of the budget was blown on the CG used for him and many of the ships. It's... not an incredible series but it's alright, and does more with Galactus than Fantastic Four or Superhero Squad since it's nothing but cosmic Marvel stuff.

Yep, we learned that the hard way. But since he had never seen anything, it was better than nothing.

And when does the next wave come out? Is this something Santa could bring?

Which wave? The basic figs or giant figs? We will probably get anywhere from 3 to 4 more waves before the end of the year for the singles. Maybe the same for the 2 packs, and I don't think we will see anymore Giants till next summer. Unless you want to get a Sentinel. Right now they have the Purple Silver sentinel out at Wal-Marts and ToysRus. And later in the year it's reported the classic purple Sentinel will be out, though I'm not sure if it will be a web exclusive like the Alliance Galactus was or not.

The Ant-Man wave.

Maybe Santa will pick-up a Sentinel, but then we're done with huge figures.

Oh, I don't know. Hasbro never gives us a due date right away. I'd assume he will be either the end of the year or beggining of next. He is gonna be in a comic 2 pack with Moon Knight anyway. We still have 3 comic packs due out this year, with like 5 more that have been announced but havn't been scheduled yet. The AntMan pack is one of those 5.

NYCC exclusive. Pretty cool. If I can get one, this may be a fig I leave MOC.

Found the new wave at ToyRus today. There were like 3 cases worth. Pretty nice wave! Despite having only 2 new characters I really like this wave.

I'm at an impass. The new figures look pretty great. But they tend to suffer from the added articulation. I just feel they are getting a little too ambitious with articulation now. For instance Cap and Namor use the Cyclops buck which has thigh and shin swivels. I think one or the other is too much. Caps legs were loose. Namor was pretty solid though, so I guess it just depends.

I do like the new female buck, but I think it may be a bit too girly, and not womanly enough. But I guess we will see how it goes with future figures. I don't like the hips, they are difficult to move, and I'm afraid forcing them will wear the silver paint off. I also didn't realize they glued on the little belt, so I didn't think nothing of it, but now I got a figure with a crooked belt. Don't get why they glued it in place. They did the same thing with Darkhawks shoulder armor. It's glued at the diamond on the chest. Thankfully his wings snap in and out, and weren't glued.

Ultron is bleh. Like the green, but nothing new.

I couldn't agree more on the over articulation. Granted, I'm looking through the lens of "playing with toys," but even as a collector it's too much. The swivel thigh makes zero sense to me. What I really struggle to understand is the thought process behind the case assortments – as a parent.

If you're going to make Spider-man, Cap, etc. pretty much standard in every case (which makes sense), then why not make some of the figures a little more kid friendly? I understand you need to appeal to kids and collectors, but would it really cause that much uproar? The person buying his 15th Spider-Man is probably going to buy it whether it has swivel hips or not. The Green Lantern figures were/are AWESOME as toys.

Lastly, I was stoked to see Ultron. I had never heard of the character, but we just watched a few Avenger episodes with him. It's always nice to pick up a bad guy – even if Santa did the picking up. I think Med. Veers will be super excited...in 3 months.

I agree, it can be too much even for collectors. Especially when it's a company, who in my opinion, hasn't mastered articulation yet. It's still an ever evolving (or devolving in some cases) facet of the action figure business. It's becoming very difficult to differentiate what is supposed to kids toys and collectables these days.

I understand what your saying. It's my opinion that the movie figure lines are way more kid friendly in quality. The thigh swivels can be loose. But usually the playsets or vehicles come with a figure that has Green Lantern syle articulation. I really don't understand why they don't have a seperate kid series in the vein of the old Marvel Super Heroes line. That was a great line in my opinion

Lastly, I was stoked to see Ultron. I had never heard of the character, but we just watched a few Avenger episodes with him. It's always nice to pick up a bad guy – even if Santa did the picking up. I think Med. Veers will be super excited...in 3 months.

Wow! I honestly can't believe you never heard of Ultron before! He is a very old character! As for the figure itself. The shoulder pads on the figure pop off very easily, so just so you know. You can either find the single carded version that just came out, or you may be able to still find the comic pack version too. Same figure different color highlights. Right now, this line really lacks love for either villains or heroines.

OH! Also, I saw the Avengers repaints with the light up bases at TRU as well. Very lame! Poor paint apps, and that $20 buck price tag is such a joke. I've never felt so relieved to know I'm not a 100% fanatical completist. :D

Do you mean this set? I thought it was a good deal for $20 - but we don't have 50 repaints yet.

As for vehicles and figures, you're 100% right. We have a Captain America Jeep and a Spider-Man Car and both have easy to stand figures. It just seems like the line overall could sprinkle some figures a little bit more like that into the line.

And yes, many of the old lines are great for kids. We have an old Doomsday figure and both boys like playing with him. The littlest one is only about 1 1/2 years old. I can actually turn my back for a second when he has many of the older figures. However, if he grabs a new figure it has to be replaced by a new toy right away. The new figures are just so fragile. We're going to be on our second Thor pretty soon.

I think URS is referring to these: http://www.toyark.co...-4780/?/#images

I quite liked the X-Force set, although still think Fantomex would have been better than Warpath (and I love Warpath as a character, it's just it's got characters from two different generations of the X-Force team in it, and I'd have preferred them all to be from the same generation). The repaint on Deadpool was very nice (and, of course, fits in with my collectors MO).

Edited as I forgot to include the link. D'oh.

Yep! Imagine $20 bucks each for those things. :yuck: The team packs on the other hand are awesome and a good deal! I think your kids may like that Avengers pack Veers. Hulk and IM are nice and sturdy. You will have to snatch the tiny antman/wasp/ant from it though.

If anyone was wondering the Spidy/Britain and PowerMan/IronFist comic packs are on Hasbrotoyshop. The PowerFist pack isn't under the universe section, so just do a search for it, or scroll through the general Marvel section. Free shipping with orders over $25, so I went ahead and ordered those 2 and the Guardians set.

Allegedly the Future Foundation sets are being sold on there as well, but according to reports HTS is too lazy to seperate the variant set from the blue FF set, so it's only like 50/50 chance they will send you the white set. Not good enough to hassle with it in my opinion.

Man, I keep getting hosed out my way, found the X-Force pack at Wallyworld and saw a green Ultron at TRU but still haven't even seen the wave BEFORE that yet with Strange and Skaar, etc. I wonder if they just skipped distribution of that wave in my area (Western NY)? At least seeing that Ultron I may get a chance at a X-23 or Darkhawk.

Wave 14 2011 Wave 3 Strange/Skaar is done shipping to stores I believe.

My local Targets had gotten in allot of Wave 3 revision cases a couple weeks ago.

Picked up a set of Wave 15 X-23/Darkawk at Toys R us toady.

Western online retailers are getting in Wave 16 right now. So you might want to bite and order Wave 14 online while its still reasonable.

Woo-hoo, found Darkhawk and X-23 at Target today, looks like the previous wave just missed us entirely :(

Veers, Human Torch should be fairly easy to find and affordable as there have been a handful of versions. Can't say I've seen one in stores forever though as I don't think they've been in any of the resent case repacks.

The nova Torch was just re-released in a case. I'd have an extra Torch for you Veers but the Secret Wars two pack version came with that Wolverine I find grossly out of scale.

Got the latest wave yesterday. Shocked to find that Target, Toys R Us, and Wal Mart all stocked them in the same week. I've even already picked up a second X-23. Namor rules although I don't like the mid thigh cut. Darkhawk is a bit of a downer although I'm thrilled he's been released period. I don't need another Ultron but snap if I don't think that green highlights is awesome.

Got my Comic packs yesterday. They havn't shipped my Guardians yet.

Power Man is awesome! They used the Thunderball Buck to build him on, yet he is slightly taller due to all the new tooling! His entire upper body is a new sculpt minus the hands. And he even features the new Hinged neck articulation. He can't look up due to his jacket, but he can look down. Great set!

Strangely enough I love the Brit/Spidey set as well. I'm not thrilled about new Spiderman figs but it's a good figure, and I like him. He has the new Thigh cuts on the BC spidey buck. Britain is pretty cool! I love his stenciled symbols, and his axe.

Considering the method Hasbro seems to be using. I'm gonna say this time next year Silver Samurai and Power Man will be repainted in the single packs. :D Just too much unique tooling in these characters for them to get a 1 shot.

Alot of love for Marvel Legends this year. Dudes are gettin all kinds of nice looking figures.

The panel showed some new stuff for us as well. We are getting INHUMANS!!! :woot: Karnak and Medusa were the only ones shown, but you know the other core IHs are only around the corner now. Finally showed Hercules and he looks sick! They surprised me with a Blastaar! Can't wait for that, but he makes me sad that there has been a lack of villain love. :( Painted versions of Jubilee, ProX, NightHawk, puck, and Angel were shown. And other previews were of Bearded Thor, FrogThor, and Black Knight.

I wish Hasbro would go the extra mile and give us some running change characters like in Legends. They could jam in another 6 or so characters a year that way.

Alot of other stuff possibly announced, but not confirmed yet on the list before the pics.

It's really hard for me to be excited about MU right now, but that is some awesome news of stuff coming down the line. Have they announced a Black Bolt yet? It seems odd they'd show Medusa and Karnak first. Should be a good 2012 for MU.

Yeah, I agree. This year kind of will be ending with a thud. Nothing really great is out right now. And Hasbro has pretty much announced more than half the standard figure releases for next year. So probably nothing worth hearing about from here to next summer.

Next year will, I think, revitalize the line a bit. Alot of new characters, but there is still going to be a ton of useless repaints/sculpts of existing characters/figures.

They did say there would be more Inhumans, and more Alpha Flight. Also mentioned I believe that they would be doing an Arcade figure. Which confirmed my supsicions, cause they gave him a 2 page bio in the back of the Spidey/Britain comic. Nice to be getting a new baddie, but really, they should be focused on more A list villains right now. Arcade was like sooo lame.

I always had a lot of fun with Murderworld in the X-Men comics but unless I'm getting a playset an Arcade figure could be held off for awhile. I guess they wanted to take advantage of the new suit sculpt. The list of top tier villians is still pretty ripe for the pickings.
