Well, the DX set is currently only about $18 on amazon.

Too bad I didn't have a little more time to plan or I could have easily helped you out. My brother's visiting next week and he'll be bringing all of my recent amazon JP and mandarake loot ;)

On Amazon JP the BS44 (collector's case) and BS53 (vehicle) release dates have been changed to Dec 31. BS52 vol. 4 blind boxes changed to 'Currently Unavailable'

All three had been listed as being released on September 31 since earlier this Spring. Not good :(

That's really a shame. It's hard since we can't really judge how this line is doing in Japan, but I thought it was doing better. There are soo many designs that I was really excited to see, that it would be a real shame if the line doesn't continue.

Even if this is an early indicator of the end of the line, I am still very happy with what we got. I basically consider it series 5 of Battle Beasts. We saw about 50 new sculpts, a bunch of new merchandise and a pretty well done cartoon. I would love to see it continue to go on, but I'll also be extremely happy that we got what we got already.

Well considering them as Series 5 is a little bit to much for me but its been fun to have some distraction from the vintage line since years.

It might be that a lot will be depending upon the succes of the Beast Saga 3D game because lets not forget there's probably a whole commercial team who's been responsible for the whole advertisement around the line with the manga, TV series and it could be that this game would be the final big bang for this whole release campaign and things will get reflected after this but I agree that release dates being forwarded aren't the best signs. And I honestly doubt if this line has been as succesfull in Japan as we all tempt to believe because there is no way this line will be any competition for the hype around the whole new Pokemon release..... Of course its different but it will have effect on the popularity of the Beast Saga line and that wont be a positive one.

So far we can only hope for the best.........

I told myself I wasn't going to collect the clear ones (already owning the regular versions), and I wasn't going to collect the vehicles (not big enough for the regular figures) but if the line is truely ending, I may as well. I'm pretty happy we got a line like this at all, honestly.

yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing; and considering that a few weeks ago everything BS related went on sale on Amazon JP it might be a bit easier to price now if you can order from there. Some of the things like the DX set went back up a few hundred yen but most are still halved in price (most figures are under 300 yen now, and bases under 500 yen).

I was on the fence about getting all the clear figs too since they were blind boxed but honestly after looking over my entire collection I really prefer them to the painted versions since they seem to resemble the traditional BBs more to me (it's the eyes).

Hopefully if the line is getting canceled they'll have one last 'hurrah' and release a final wave of figures. I can't imagine they would create a product listing on Amazon for figures that weren't already in production, and that the release delay is based on some sort of timing strategy contingent on whether or not they get the axe. The December 31 date is just a dummy date (I've seen Amazon do this before) that will likely be updated and the products already listed will eventually go on sale.

I'm just hoping that will also include a bunch of the figures like the Zebra Fox and Salmon that were in the early production photos that never showed up again. All wishful thinking though until we know something more concrete. I'm wondering if there are any Japanese social media outlets that we could try contacting for any hints towards the status of the series.

Well after my last post of doom and gloom speculation I found an update to the mono colored minifigs on Amazon JP. Boxes are on preorder but there are some sellers just selling the full sets of figures. Colors and packaging in the tradition of the SD Beasts :)

Wow, those solid color mini figures look great. Especially liking the shark and eagle. I have kind of been thinking too that some things may hinge of the sucess of the game. It looks like a simple but fun game from the gameplay videos that I have seen.

These look great!

So is each box one figure and one piece of gum? Or one pair and one piece of gum?

And are there prices on boxes? On sets?

If I understand the poor translation, it looks like each box comes with 10 figures in all. It looks like there are 5 packs with predetermined pairings of two and one piece of gum. So one box should get you a set but the colors are random so getting a true full set would be more difficult.

Sellers are listing full sets for about $16 if you include domestic JP shipping, or individual figure pairs for $6. Not sure on the price of boxes since they're not listed yet but from the looks of it these simply haven't shown up in Amazon's inventory yet, and the other sellers listing them are the independent sellers who got theirs from other sources. I imagine a box would be about $10 and have free shipping once they get there so I'm gonna hold out until then I think.

No idea how I hadn't found this sooner, but here's the Japanese Wikipedia entry for Beast Saga. Really comprehensive info here that I think a lot of us have been trying to gather together in bits and pieces. They have a full product line-up, instructions on playing the game including descriptions of dice types, and info about the anime and manga including character profiles for practically every character introduced so far. This clarifies that the newest bird to premier is a "game fowl", which makes sense as he looks a lot like a pheasant. :)

And here's a bunch of Beast Saga fan-art I just found on Pixiv

Some art approaching Rule 34 territory...damn you internet!

That is the regular lion figure. These are way smaller than I thought they'd be. Kind of disappointed by that...

I've been waiting for Amazon JP to get them in stock but it's been over a month now since they were released and they still have them as pending. I went ahead and ordered some from an independent seller on there though, only ended up costing an extra 500 yen shipping. Of course, they'll be sitting in Japan for a while but at least I know I won't be missing out on these. The guy is showing that he still has 2 in stock, though it said that before I ordered 2 so I'm not sure what the deal is there.

EDIT: It just updated; looks like those were the last 2 full sets in stock. Hopefully Amazon will get their shipment in eventually.

Oh, and 2 of the unreleased Beast Saga items are still open for pre-orders on Amazon JP despite being pushed back to Dec 31, so that's something at least. The third item is just "unavailable".

Sounds great! I love the look of these Kabaya figures and wonder if they are rubber or plastic?
Any more info on the collectors case? I hope it comes with a figure or some unique accessory.
I'm also excited to get the last jipuroto set, assuming the vehicle is not full size.

believe they're PVC. and yeah I was hoping the DX case would come with a figure too but its msrp is about $20 so I dunno. of it were a us release I might expect it at that price but for Japanese toys that usually are pricier I'm not too confident it'll include anything else. its one of of the items that's showing release on 12/31 the things slotted to release
