Don't bash Mari ;.; She isn't boring. And besides, having some girl just randomly appear and steal away your crush is very painful.

I think Roxanne's realizing what happened between Suguru and Mari. Bibinda came along and stole the spotlight.

Seeing Seiuchin rip up what appears to be a Gazelle both amuses and disturbs me. As for the whole Bibina thing.......yeah. No comment. But Mantaro's flashback was amusing.

Exsqueeze me? Who stole whose spotlight? Refresh my memomry, please. Which one was pretty much completely left out of the anime while the other got to be around much longer than she was supposed to be, so much so that the other girl only shows up in the second anime and ends up with Super Phoenix instead of Kinnikuman?

As for the “randomly appear” thing: During the Throne Arc, Bibinba beats up two Choujin guards in order to free Kinnikuman’s parents from their prison in Osaka Castle and later, she breaks free of her own entrapment just so she can climb to the top of the stadium stands and threaten to jump if Kinnikuman gives up to The Omegaman/Kamehame’s Gory Special. She’s hardly just some floozy that flirts with Kinnikuman while the “good one” (Mari) loses out.

Also, Mari shows next to NO interest in Kinnikuman in the manga, she mostly worries about Meat. Their manga relationship is indeed one-sided… but it’s all on Kinnikuman’s part, not Mari’s. And even still, Kinnikuman doesn’t love Mari or desire her more than Natsuko or Meat’s sister. Nope, he lusts after them all equally, but he freaks out when Bibinba walks around wearing nothing but an apron and gets extremely jealous when she joins the Earth Defense Force and (later) befriends Warsman.

Oh yeah, and during the Throne Arc, Kinnikuman is hesitant to step into the ring for the final match after Super Phoenix decides that the winner should not only get the throne but also Bibinba’s hand in marriage. And when Bibinba’s face is all bruised up from falling from the stands, Kinnikuman risks a 20 Count Out to heal her with Face Flash (and then they smooch a little).

So yeah, Bibinba rocks and Mari was so bland and boring she had been completely replaced by Natsuko by the time Bibinba even showed up. YAY BIBINBA!!!

@Idol Chojin Showtime: I mostly agree with you on everything you said on Bibinba. While I found it strange that the anime preferred Mari as Suguru's girlfriend, the anime did a good job of not making it so mushy and cheesy. I prefer Bibinba though, through and through.

I find it strange that I prefer the Mantaro/Rinko in the anime then I do in the manga, and I prefer Suguru/Bibinba in the old manga. I have weird tastes. =/

I have to write a Suguru/Bibinba one-shot whenever I get the chance to do it...

Ahh, see. I've only seen a bit of the manga (from Toriyama) and the anime, and the whole Mari/Kinnikuman relationship threw me off. D=

.. That is pretty kickarse though. I didn't know Bibinda did all those things!

Another thing about Bibimba; she pretty much vanished after the Buffaloman arc until the last round of the Throne saga. Which was... kind of weird.

And yeah... Natsuko was pretty much the first replacement for Mari. Despite what they said in Nisei (hur hur retcon?) Mari was out of the story long before Bibimba came along. Hey... was Mari even around for the first Choujin Olympics in the manga?

Yeah, Mari was at the first Olympics, she also showed up with Natsuko and Kinnikuman's parents during the American Tag arc, but that was it.

Also, Bibinba actually disappeared during the Golden Mask arc (sometime during the 5-Story Ring fights) and then showed up breifely during the Dream Tag Arc during Kinnikuman's operation.

Hm, you're right! I never noticed her there in the Dream Tag arc. But then again, she's only in like 2 panels.

I don't know what Natsuko looks like, but judging by the name, she sounds pretty cute.

If you look back at some of the manga previews, you might spot her. She's almost as cute as Bibinba, but not as much. She gets jealous when girls start to hang around Terryman though, and how she deals with them makes her my favorite. (Anime Rinko is a close second.)

*sigh* The girls never get enough spotlight. =(

I don't really know much about the G1 girls (I've seen Mari more than the others due to anime clips), so I'm intrigued to get a glimpse of their personalities now.

I still haven't seen exactly how Terryman and Natsuko met. D= Can anyone tell me if it was shown in the G1 anime and which ep?? I'll get it from that Catalan site if I can. xD

You can actually get it from Toriyama World. Manga Chapter 16, "Tondeiru Natsuko" (Groovy Natsuko). Natsuko spots Kin-chan (her nickname for him) at a gyuudon place and asks to do a story on him. Almost immediately, Kin-chan comes across a monster but Terryman arrives and destroys it first. Natsuko takes tons of pics of Terry while Kin-chan pouts. Terry kisses Natsuko's hand before he leaves and Natsuko is smitten. That's the end of Terry for that chapter, and also, believe it or not, only his second appearance in the series (it's also Iwao's second appearance, but that's not important right now).
This story appears in episode 4 of the anime.
