I never got the series 1 12pack , and I see I missed out on a good deal the other day on ebay. I could use the 4 that are in the 12pack.

Gutslinging Grimm
Inspector Bones
Erik The Red
Cap'n Jack Scurvy

any one happen to have extras set for sale or even the full 12pack?

OK I know there will be some of you who think I'm crazy but does this line of figures sometimes seem like alot of wasted potential?

I was thinking about it today and really started to lose interest in collecting these, heres my major complaint, some of these zombies are Great, funny parodies to Iconic characters we all know and mostly love, but then theres a slew of generic figures that I find uninspired and boring, the thought of supporting this line though 100 figures in hopes of another (probably much cooler) line kindda takes fun out of it for me.

An example of my problem would be displaying cool figures like Ash or Ripley heroes next to heroes like a generic Cowboy guy and a Fire Fighter or Abe Lincoln and Hulk Hogan next to a Chef and Cheerleader, they just don't fit well together, I think this line would have done/do much better if they stuck to the reconizable figures and ditched the generic ones, I can't believe that Flesh Eatin Phil is uncommon and Captain Paypack is a common, I'd take a Rambo parody figure over a dude in a mailbox anyday, not to mention the play value of most of the generics seem pretty weak.

I hope I'm wrong about this line and it does well, I'd love to see more lines come out and maybe pave the way for WWE Mini's and others out there waiting too see the value of mono colored cheap mini figs in the states, I just wonder if this lines choice of sculpts is strong enough to do it.

Guess we'll know after the Holidays.

Really? They don't hang around at all in these parts, save for the one location I grabbed Vette's sets from today. I don't think anyone knows they're there...far removed from the toys they should be with, out of sight. Anyone else noticing that as a trend, and feel like it could hurt this line going forward? Target seems to be the only place putting them in the right spot. TRU sticks them in all manner of ungodly places, K-mart does the same...you can barely find the damn things. I found my series 3 3pks with the EZ bake ovens, and the series 2 12pks were tucked in with board games. Um...derp? These things should be right in the aisle with the NECA/ horror/ collector figures in every TRU store. They wouldn't last 5 seconds. as it is only one of the 3 local stores here even got them in, and they blew out even though they were shoved out of the way.

I agree. The TRU store had the 12 packs stacked on a lower shelf. They weren't standing in their display case. No, just stacked one on top of the other.

I see where you're coming from. There are a lot of somewhat lame figures and some great ones but isn't that always the case? Can you name a line with just great figures? I don't think i can. It sucks that you can't get a wave without doubles as well but that's also the norm with mini figures.

I like the cheap price point. I like the availability not including wave one. Most of all i like how well they fit in with other figures i own. A mob of zombies versus my favorite flesh muscles in a display? Hell yes. Critters versus zombies? Damn straight.

I doubt i'll go after a complete set but there isn't much of anything at retail these days i want so for now these will get added to my collection. If there were WWE muscles then i could see myself passing on slugs and grabbing those but there isn't. There isn't anything i want at toy stores at all right now so these are hard to pass up.

A few come to mind, Trash Bag Bunch, Handful of Heroes, Dino Brites, DFC minis, Marty Toys space monster minis, Monsters n Dragons, He Man Keshi's, Diener space monsters, GPK cheap toys, none of these lines had a figure that I wouldn't go out of my way to get to finish my collection.

The Slugs aren't terrible, theres many that are amazing, but I feel these make the other less interesting figs flaws or lack of iconic parody consistency really stand out, some of it could also be that theres no color variants and that in itself is quite boring.

Edit: I agree that toy store offerings are very lacking these days, probably why we all buy toys from 20 years ago, I'd probably be more excited about these if the prospect of waiting up to a year or more for a full collection didn't seem likely, we need Alien and Monster Slug's on the shelfs now!!! e+

I think I remember someone on LRG having a plastic display case. Am I correct? If yes, where did the person get that, or was it home made?

I believe the plastic display case was $9.99 from ebay,

i would agree that some of the figures are a little 'boring', i showed a pic to the missus and her comment (for some of them) was "how original" then she rolled her eyes

but you should count youselves lucky, im in UK, TrU here dont even stock them, and we dont even have a K-Mart or tagart or whatever its called, trades or ebay is our only option :(

I only have series one so can't comment on 2 & 3, but I wouldn't say I think any of the figures are that boring. My only issue still is how hard certain figures are to come across. I must admit that I haven't searched for the 4 exclusives I need as hard as I've searched for my AP OMFG or MIMP, but just haven't felt the motivation too. Maybe that comment right there suggests how I feel about the toy line. I will continue to look for the exclusives I need as I have no intention of selling my 12 series 1 figures - yet anyway.

Those release dates on ent earth are always being pushed back, so I wouldn't count on those dates being correct.

I just purchased a series 1 coffin from ebay, but it only has one figure I believe (for $2.50)I was excited because I have only seen the 12-pack coffins for series 3 in stores. After I clicked buy now I realized it was a single. Oh well, series 1 are very difficult for me to find so maybe I'll get a really good one inside!

I like a lot of the generic zombies, and you have to figure if the line is aimed at children at all, not every character needs to be a pop culture reference. I'm sure some are just filler ideas to get to 100 figures, but I like most of them.

I agree with what people have said about the location of them at TRU. I also see them with completely unrelated toys/games.

I pretty much love all of the character selection in this line. Sure, some are more dynamic than others, but what can you really expect in terms of excitement when it comes to static figures of dead people. lol The pop culture references are inspired, and even the 'filler' zombies, so to speak, are great. The magician? The chef? The police officer and mail-man? All awesome little sculpts with incredibly amusing features.

And speaking of, Mighty Bite Mac and Piece Mail Pete showed up today! That means I just have to ait for my Headless Halpert to arrive sometime next week and I'll be all caught up. I like these series 1 uys I was missing even more in person now that I'm aholding them. Officer RIP and Mike Ty...I mean, Mighty Bite Mac are excellent figures! I can't wait to take the completed group shot XD
