TERRYMAN? *shock* I EXPECTED BENKIMAN THE WHOLE TIME

So then...what was with those random pics of Terry's head always appearing under the Great mask? (it would have been funnier if people traded places to be Great akin to some other series but unfortunately it's less about the revelation...and more about Suguru's reaction)

The guy under COULD have been wearing a Terryman mask under the Great mask!

Considering the mask and hair Budou had underneath his Budou mask, AND the fact that he had his Budou disguise on underneath the Mildman costume, I think it's pretty safe to say that Benkiman could pull off wearing a Terryman mask under a Great mask.

Former resident song translator, and as a result, probably the distant, insignificant relative of the translation family on this board.

Update (7/1/2012 [7th Jan]) - Years away can calm a mind down quite well. I don't think of myself as some maligned martyr of the site. Rather it's just that I was unfortunately caught by the mudslinging of a rather unpleasant (and unprofessional) translator, who didn't like people taking the spotlight away from him, particularly if they happened to actually be able to properly translate work, as opposed to him. Nevertheless, despite the fact that all my work was my own, I got constantly accused of plagiarism, thanks to this unpleasant individual constantly saying how I stole his work. (When rather, it was going to end up being the other way round.)

I'm a lot more forgiving about the whole ideal, with how I ended up getting treated on this forum, as a result of this incident, but at the same time, I am still not in any mind to come back and join in again, nor will I uplaod any more of my translation work on here. This includes any of my old work, or my newer and much more accurate work. Some may see this as being petty, spiteful or based off an old grudge, and you may be right. However, I thought I'd explain things a little.

But you forget: the "man" under the Budo mask was under a Mildman mask...which was under that black outfit! And of course, there's also the mask under the mask under the Budo under the Mildman under the black cloak...and now I think I'm confused.

Oh and yeah I know it's sarcasm but somehow it's hard to tell sarcasm on the web when text is involved.

With all of the cloaks and masks and disguises Budou wears, I think Sigmund Freud might have found he had issues. *Konekone then proceeds to look ponderous*

My guess: one day his true face thought he was ugly and he just kept putting on masks until it went away.

Chapter 260: Now that all of the plot points have been wrapped up, how about some fighting?
http://www.megalopuad.coc/?d=NEFV91M0

Also, the last window finally broke. (although I was half-expecting a secret door to open or something when it happened)

Aside from a couple things (the Trespassing Perfect Choujin getting "glass shard weapons", the Hell Missionaries starting the Electromagnetic power, a scene near the end of the arc), those "breaking windows" had no purpose whatsoever! How in the world could that arena have been untouched for so long and then suddenly have all its windows broken? (unless there's something Harabote isn't saying, like the costs to the federation to repair the windows from that ancient tournament...or some logs of the last time Tournament Mountain was used)

Well, this is fascinating. I don't think a single panel in 260 made a lick of sense.

I wonder if graverobbing is one of Budo's hobbies.

I wonder if graverobbing is one of Budo's hobbies.

I imagined Terryman burying them and walking away, then Budo popping out from behind a tree with a "DUN DUN DUUUUN", and giving a cheesy "Bwahahahahha!" before digging them up.

The way that Budo goes from super-generic to get unexpected usage prior to "that revelation" is hilarious. It's like Yude was like "well we didn't do enough foreshadowing regarding him so let's just thrust all of it during the final fight before Neptuneman has his mental breakdown and he becomes the true threat!"

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Chapter 261: For a guy so worried about power being the only thing that matters in the ring, Neptuneman sure plays a lot of mind games.

About two issues ago we coined the term "Kinniku Physics." We saw its first application when Robin used his armor to fall faster than something he threw upwards that was in the same position he was in, 'cause

Because he was in actuality a fleshy projector. He had heard rumors of Mr. VTR and decided to turn his body into a video player in case he died so he could have a second life to the Justice Choujin...or something like that.

Make sense, considering that even though he's dead, he comes back so often that he may as well be alive, anyway.

I know I get a tad whiny in my reviews of the chapters after my scripts but the series is just an example of how shonen was then...or just the Yude style: do what you think it cool, not what is logical or makes sense. A lot of bizarre things happen in this series...heck, in this arc alone! We either gripe about it, make fun of it, or just acknowledge that this is how things were back then. Besides, considering that in some ways it's supposed to be the manga equivalent of American comics (where they had eras of doing anything they wanted...and spent the last 25 years or so trying to make sense of it all), it does a good job at that I guess.

Uh-huh. It's that Japanese interest in using the definite article again. They think the "Mask" part describes all of it, including the "The". Presumably, they mean more "The Mask End".

(Slightly off-topic, yet on-topic with my post on being a show-off on Japanese grammar: I just got my first attempt at a flame on YouTube, on my grammar. With someone trying to tell me I'm an incorrect Grammar Nazi, whilst telling me all the things I have said are wrong, in my grammar, whilst saying everything incorrectly himself.

As in, this guy tried to tell me I was wrong, when I was talking about Japanese grammar, and he about English grammar, and then topped it off by making his own mistake in English grammar, i.e. insisting a collective noun takes a plural verb conjugation. ["OMG! It's 'the group are', not the 'group is', u idiot!"])
