He doesn't seem original at all. In fact, besides the fact that he's OT mascot, of sorts, it's also the archetypical "Lord/King Pumpkin" monster we've seen in hundreds of comics and cartoons.
And, if I wanted to buy toys that were really easy to customize, I'd buy some of that designer vinyl trash.

But, I digress.

I agree with you 100% and your last line made me chuckle. It's sad when people who have such a small knowledge of existing toys are deciding on new toys to be made. Oh well, at least there ARE other/better things for folks like us to buy. ;)

yeah i think its good that its the OT mascot n'all, but like i said, it doesnt seem very 'outlandish',

there was far more in the lineup that (i thought) stood a better chance, take redjarojam's living candle for instance, its just my opinion but the pumpkin is by far my LEAST favorite, my kids got loads of cheap vinyl toys and there are a couple of pumpkins in the lot, there are quite a lot of pumkin toys about, it just seems like not much thought went into him,

but like i said guys, its just MY opinion, please dont slaughter me over saying these things

Haha, the pumpkin stirs debate everytime it's mentioned.

Different opinions make the world go 'round. Or if you prefer the non-Disney version, opinions are like assholes--everybody has one.

The good news is that nobody is being held at gunpoint to buy the figure.

You're not alone. I originally got into OMFG because it was different from everything else.

Now, it's just kind of the same as everything else.

S2 is more like what happens if your ziploc bag of random LRG figs had an orgy and produced offspring. You get a little bit of everything. And theres a chance one of them is gonna come out with flipper hands. :D

2 right everyone has an opinion, not everyone is gonna agree on everything all the time. It would be a pretty boring world if they did, but as far as the pumpkin guy I think that it was the best submission that got through, as it was one I voted for, along with the CYBABY fig. But it would of had to have been a fix on which figs got voted to win, to have made me not contribute to Series 2 OMFG.

I didn't think you would be keeping up with OMFG anyway, unless this wasn't you on OT after the AP Multiskull release:

thanks for nothing.

I figured a lot of artists would take issue with the jack-o-lantern figure. Obviously not a tough concept to come up with. I didn't vote on it and would've preferred something I've never seen before, but it still looks cool and it will look better when it's complete.

Whoa, whoa. I think the pumpkin is shitty, but we are still talking about toys... So there is no reason that we can't discuss/debate the merit/lack thereof of these toys civilly.

And for the record, I hate the Shirtle, and Cuddlehard, too... It's not just the damn Juggalo Pumpkin, hahaha

(and, I really did have to edit my post, because I left out the spaces between a few words. Go me. :woot:)

haha, its nothing to do with the pumpkin mate, its monsterhunter having a go at me on OT forums besause i said to another member there that its to early to ask when the next submitions for series 3 are, but i asked here WHO is going to be entering,

i did say for him to send me a PM if he has an issue so we can keep the threads clean (less risk of the thread going into the junkyard)

but yeah, i can do civil, and i hope other people can too

Also I never said I didnt like the pumpkin, just the original drawing, i think compared to cuddlehard and shirtle hes a stronger figure.

I was just busting balls. I thought monsterhunter's fit over not getting a toy was funny.

My favorite designs for S2 didn't get in either, but I expect the 5 winners to look good when they are finished. The line that inspired OMFG had about 100 shitty figures.

I'm just all pissy pants, because I don't want 100 shitty figures, haha
That, and I thought that there were other designs that would have made better mini figures, than Shirtle, Juggalo Pumpkin, and Cuddlehard. Eric's Colossus is the first that comes to mind. I thought the living valley was really neat, and the list goes on. Obviously, I am disappointed that mine didn't do better, but I felt that the top 15 left a lot to be desired, with the exception of the Puke Knight.

Haha, I like that you've mentioned "100 shitty figures" twice, though, haha

I like how people beg and cry for something to happen or get made... then piss and moan about some factor that isn't exactly to their liking. Not aimed at any one in particular so keep yer panties straight....

Basically I see it all over the place and always makes me wonder.

Well, I can't speak for anybody else (nor do I want that kind of responsibility, haha), but for me, it's frustrating because I see so much missed potential. Being involved in the process makes it a lot more personal of an attachment; I don't feel the same was about some of the weaker SLUG Zombies, because:
1) I didn't have anything to do with it, from a developmental standpoint, and
2) I never saw what my options were. All I know, is what they presented to us all.

Having a vested interest, and being involved in the creative process, kind of raises the stakes, so to speak.
Piss, piss, piss, moan, moan, moan.

Yeah but thats the way it goes obviously some of us are gonna be peeved that the ones we thought were gonna get in, didnt. But hey obviously alot of ppl dont see it the way we do, Thats the whole point of voting, No? Theres always Series 3 like I said in my previous post, there's still hope. I bet even with this moaning most here are still going to buy every figure in series 2 in every avaliable colour, lol...

Well, I may submit a couple of designs for series 3, but I think submitting less designs will be helpful, along with perhaps, making them collaborative pieces.

I just want some blood and guts figures, damnit!

LOL liking youre idea with the GORE figures, but we are get Puking Knight mate. Kind of reminds me of the Knight off of Ghouls & Ghosts.

Puking Knight is great, but I'm talking about darker, meaner figures. Not Hellraiser level of gross, but definitely Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, 1980's gross out chic. Puke Knight is fun, but still fairly cartoony.

It's okay, though... I'll stop crying now, haha

I think it's crap. But, that is more money that I'm not spending on OMFG figures, that I can spend on Eric's awesome Splatterhouse keshis.

*Shameless Plug*

Exactly.

Now if i could just choose what color i want.

The green seems to show the detail the most but clear red is a freaking game breaker.

I guess when the only criteria for a line is that the characters are "outlandish" and its pieces are coming from different people, there's naturally going to be a lot of disagreement. Outlandish can be gross, bizarre, cartoonish, wacky, novelty, twisted, etc, or any combination. There were plenty of submissions I didn't care for at all and I'm not jumping out of my seat over every single one of the designs that made it, but I didn't expect to (I can't name one toy line I own in which I love every single sculpt).

I do think you guys who are really disappointed should at least wait to see what the final pieces look like before you give final judgement. You never know, they might end up looking a lot cooler than you thought even if you didn't like the concepts.
