Yeah, they did two arcs( Golden Mask and Tag match), and the chapters that Torayama world didn't do, like the 3º vol in 8 months

Ataru is doing Kinnikuman Lady, the 1º volume? If yes, can I use your translation, Ataru, to scan the manga? In MH have a Raw of the 1º vol so I could put it in mangafox, and maybe i could do it with GonbeFan(Hajike Project)

At this time, I may need to get back to Kinnikuman Lady I guess with the fan demandment. I sort of was going to do the next Throne volume but it sounds like everyone wants me to take a break...maybe I'll do Lady vol. 1 (well the rest of it), then do Throne vol. 2 (will probably be scanslated next year though) and such.

Well, considering in ONE YEAR they did over TWICE what Toriama's World did in about six... well, I say give 'em time to recover! Ataru has like ten other projects he's working on in addition to Kinnikuman/Kinnikuman Lady.

And after all that, a break is well-deserved.

Once the Kinnikuman Lady scans are done, I might do a mini-mocking/review. Regardless of quality.

Are you starting scanslation, Wimmo?

Knuxie-- it's up to you.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

I think Wimmo was talking about the translator, not Knuxie.

Also, since I didn't get a chance, thanks for doing Bobobo. I tried my hand at it at one point, but juggling two series at the same time just isn't something I can do.

Nah don't bother. find somebody better.

That was rather frank, Wimmo-san. Not that I'm admonishing you for it, or dare I say it, defending KM. It's just I wouldn't have thought you'd be the type to say that.

Former resident song translator, and as a result, probably the distant, insignificant relative of the translation family on this board.

Update (7/1/2012 [7th Jan]) - Years away can calm a mind down quite well. I don't think of myself as some maligned martyr of the site. Rather it's just that I was unfortunately caught by the mudslinging of a rather unpleasant (and unprofessional) translator, who didn't like people taking the spotlight away from him, particularly if they happened to actually be able to properly translate work, as opposed to him. Nevertheless, despite the fact that all my work was my own, I got constantly accused of plagiarism, thanks to this unpleasant individual constantly saying how I stole his work. (When rather, it was going to end up being the other way round.)

I'm a lot more forgiving about the whole ideal, with how I ended up getting treated on this forum, as a result of this incident, but at the same time, I am still not in any mind to come back and join in again, nor will I uplaod any more of my translation work on here. This includes any of my old work, or my newer and much more accurate work. Some may see this as being petty, spiteful or based off an old grudge, and you may be right. However, I thought I'd explain things a little.

No, don't. If he didn't get his IP banned from here and he sees people being frank about him via a visit, he'll basically give you his state of mind.

It's not like people are demanding it though. Take your time, alright?

I've been in contact with KM and he is asking one question: do you want him to continue with V-Jump or will you take the project and have someone else do it? That's all he wants to know. If you want him to keep going, he will find other people to work with and get it done. If not, he is willing to drop the project. I'm just asking for him, that is all. (personally I rather stay out of the V-Jump politics since it was never my project to begin with...)

So if there's interest in the community, he'll find a non-community team to complete the project. If we don't give two shizzits, he'll drop it?

Honestly, I'd still like to see the V-Jump translated.

Yeah... I feel guilty because I pretty much just two-faced him about the whole thing. I would like to text-set it myself but.. would.. kinda prefer to work with another translator.. *headdesk* God, I feel like a jerk.

But if he really wants to work on it, I could hand the project over to him..? I dunno. DX;;

He really doesn't mind the project aside the time it takes that he really doesn't have as of late. He just probably felt rather betrayed due to being the main source and the one who was going to scan in all those V-Jump volumes and do it exclusively. I say personally if he wants to keep going and work with some other group (or if someone here wants to lend a hand), we can have a group that still gets it out. But I think it's up to him since he was the keystone behind the V-Jump project in the first place.

Just out of interest, were the 'Warsman begins' and 'Kinnikuman's Wedding' one shot mangas ever scanlated? Both were around 50 pages long if I recall...

Scanned, but not scanlated.

I see....
Actually, in this weeks Playboy magazine, the second half to a new Nisei one-shot about Terryman training Terry the Kid when he was very young called the 'Spin-off' (I think) has been published. If I had known earlier I would have bought the magazine last week to get the first half but now it's too late e+
Still, I guess I could pick up the second half and scan it for whatever it's worth...

Some collection somewhere or another will probably collect the whole Terry Man/Kid story. We just got to wait for that to happen.

I actually do have the scans of the "Kinnikuman Wedding" chapter, but I'm sort of hoping to translate that pretty much the moment the Throne is over. (since it's a nice epilogue to the classic era, even though it was written last year)

I thought that one-shot was nice because it didn't retcon anything.

Besides Suguru's bruised face, of course.

I'm just gonna accept the Kaijin explanation for Kinkotsuman to be canon. It fits for the most part, considering that most of the time he was referred to as something that's neither a Chojin nor Kaijuu (aside from those rare instances where he had to fall into one of those categories for plot reasons).

Although on page 21, Meat does say "Kaijuu and Kaijin", so apparently Iwao's status as a Kaijuu hasn't been changed.

I'm looking forward to this chapter of Kinn Lady. The strangeness is astounding.

My guess is that the Kaijuu are the monsters and the Kaijin...are humanoid Kaijuu. (can't really say they're a subclass of Choujin but more like bastard Choujin who are tied closer to the Kaijuu) Though I do wonder if this is just the new mangaka's explanation for him or Yude finally made up his mind on what to make Kinkotsuman.

The fact that Yudetamago put official numbers for their Chojin Power in the databooks probably has something to do with it.

I think the problem all started because of that retcon from the America arc on that all Kaijuu are essentially Choujin which Kinkotsuman and Iwao used to get into that tag tournament. Therefore they made Kinkotsuman and Iwao (and others such as Nachiguron, as Stecase just stated) all "Choujin" by default and never really explained what the Kaijuu from the early arc were and that they really meant nothing compared to, say, Devil Choujin or Perfect Choujin.

To tell the truth, I like now that we have a "Kaijin" classification for at least Kinkotsuman. (Iwao...I can't say if he's a "Kaijuu" or a "Kaijin") Sad that it took a completely different mangaka to come up with it.
