Can you guys recommend a quality, filling, but not-too-expensive beer that is easily found at liquor stores across the US? I don't know squat about beer, but I've enjoyed Budweiser in the past. Looking for something a little more "bready and wholesome, but not bitter" to try and sophisticate my palate.
Porters/stouts are pretty filling. I think u should go for ale rather than a larger. bear in mind that ales (often called bitter) are not necessarily bitter. Do you have beer festivals locally? Check one out and you can try lots of different beers and find one you like.

In the county we live in, even if there was such a festival, there's no way in hell mimoman would want to be associated with it. Maybe if there was a special event not close to home, that would work. I, unfortunately, don't have the option to even try alcohol.
why wouldnt mimoman want to go? and why dont you have the option to try alcohol ur over 18/21?

Does the term "Inbred" mean anything to you? Heh.
As for me, yeah, I'm definitely old enough, it's due to medical reasons. Reasons that conveniently cropped up when I turned legal.

Interesting. I had to look up the difference between ale and lager on wikipedia, by the way. Same with porters/stouts. Barley, huh? Just might work.
