Does the fall lineup include Ultimate Muscle? *crosses fingers*

I wish. ;_; I know they're introducing two new shows.. Viva Pinata, or something. I remember Jamie McGonnagal saying that was a fun series to voice over.. but it looks sorta stupid. *not much for CG cartoon/movies anymore*

*tries to shove the Crap Twins onto Nickalodeon*

They skipped the d.M.p/Nightmares/Gen-X stuff and went straight into No Respect/Gruesome Threesome...I have no idea why.

Probably because that got better ratings the first time around.

Really? The other parts seem more popular to me. I was hoping to reenact the Jaeger/Scarface fight after watching it using the Jaeger and Scarface figures i just added to my cart on this website.

I'd sum up the match for you, but then people would probably smack me for the way I would word it.

Anyway.. XD My dad was watching UM with me today and even he was laughing at some of the jokes/puns.

Checkmate's so cute when he blushes. <3

No, they lacked the balls to keep in at LEAST 50% of the violence of the manga...

I don't think it had anything to do with a lack of balls. 4Kids and the FoxBox are targeted at little kids, not teenagers or adults. Kids don't usually want to watch a gorey cartoon wth people getting their arms ripped off and spewing blood all over. And chances are that their parents won't be too happyabout it either. :lol:

Maybe if they targetted towards teens and adults, the ratings would be higher? ^^;

4Kids had anything to do with the lack of violence. The episodes are exactally the same in Japan. No blood, no pulling off limbs.

TopRamenman: Basically, in the anime, Jeager's arm loses all the circulaton to it, 'cause Mars pretty much crushes it. (The match is really, really fruity too.)

I personally don't mind the lack of violence. Some of the stuff in the manga is disgusting. >_<; (Especially during the Chojin Crown and afterwards. The Neptuneman Cross-Bomber face-ripping almost made me want to gag.) Even Kinnikuman was never that bloody/gorey.

Too much violence may chase away viewers and get bad ratings.

So, yeah, Checkmate1989... Try to get your facts straight before posting random 4kids insults. ^^; 4Kids really isn't all that bad. They were the ones who pretty much started the big anime trend in the US.

Really? Gee, I guess 12-year olds have really changed these days.

I remember sneaking to watch "Up All Night" stuff like Akira (uncensored) and shouting "YES! YES!" when the guy gets liquified by gunfire, or everyone going "Whoah!" and getting really into Ninja Scroll when the guy gets his arms lopped off and the blood dranken, or "Haha, :ulp:aggot!" in Street Fighter: The Animated Movie when Sagat's chest was opened up by Ryu.

So kids of today arn't enticed/ecited/thrilled at gory violence in cartoons now?

Is it too passe'?

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

XP Thank you.

Some of the stuff in the manga disgusts me to no end. (The crapping and people getting their faces ripped off are my biggest erks) I think Yudetamago have some guro/bathroom fetishes..

It's not every day you see a character in the process of releaving his bowels onto someone else's head.

.... Checkmate blushed again in Sat/Sun's episode. <3

The most blood I've seen in the anime (as far as I know or remember) was Terry's match against Tyrannoclaw.

I say even out the balance of gore and clean fighting. Like for instance, yes, you put blood in a good bit of matches but not so much it makes the viewers have nightmares or wanna puke. I have an 8-year-old cousin and she LOVES Dik Dik, but if she read the manga and saw him get cut wide open by Jeager like that, she would've cried and have nightmares. I say have the occassional blood like a bloody lip or bloody nose when you get a good blow to the face.

Now, I know this isn't any type of Dragonball Z thread (sorry for the non-DBZ fans ^^; but bare with me here), but DBZ had its fair share of gore in it and the kids loved it. a few years ago it was one of the biggest anime to hit the country, and it had more bloody violence than Ultimate Muscle did. Not a whole lot, but a good bit.

If you put as much bloody violence into the anime like they did with DBZ, there will be some gorefans that might wanna watch the anime and try it out. Soon they'll be like: Hey! This stuff's great! Look how bloody that guy gets just from the other guy doing THAT!

Soon they'll get their buddies on the line to watch it. Then you look at the other side of people who just want to see a slightly bloody cartoon. They'll start to like it too. Plus, they'll find HUMOR in it. I mean, lookit all the silly puns they do! How rare is it to find a decent anime with its fair share of bloody violence AND be hilarious at the same time?

They could put almost as much blood in the anime as they did in the manga, just none of the Jeager's arm being torn off or Ninja Ned's face getting sliced off. I had a friend reading my manga and that was the only complaint she had about it. Other than that, she thought it was great.

Eh... I hope a good bit of you guys are getting my point. ^^;

http://www.PetitionO...5/petition.html

This petition goes straight to 4kids so encourage your friends to watch and sign. If there are enought signatures the petition can be sent to other networks such as cartoon network. The show just needs more publicity thats all. I think the show is just a filler until the fall since they are getting a whole new lineup.

I am a chick but I like violence. D:

Responding to the petition thing- I'm kind of surprised that thing has 77 signatures so far and still going. I would love to buy the DVDS instead of watching it on TV.. if they actually can get their butts up to the rear and release them already. And only if they bothered to spend some little more effort to it by adding closed caption or subtitles in it. Or both. I can't be bothered to buy something if I can't understand what's going on. >_>;
