Both a K-mart and Walmart had the Indiana Jones muggs on sale for $7 and $8 bucks each respectively. Pretty cheap prices. I think they had a few Star Wars on clearance as well. But can't remember who.

It sucks that the new Indiana Jones movie wasn't good enough to push any of the merchandise, the Indy Muggs were really good. Even better ones were on tap, but the line got cancelled practically the same day that wave 2 shipped and i just think most stores didn't even bother. I never even saw Henry Jones in a store, the only wave 2 figure i saw and purchased was Monkey Man.

I got my first Mighty Mugg today!

I wasn't planning on getting any toys, much less any Star Wars ones (I have boxes and boxes of SW stuff) but I was in Debenhams buying some trousers in their 70% off sale and found Grand Moff Tarkin for £3, reduced from £10. So that was that.



Awesome looking big little guy, but I don't think I'll be collecting these things... not unless I come across some more sales anyway

Wow, these cost £10 over there? They're around $10 here. Seems like it'd almost be cheaper to buy them online!

I've even heard they're like $29 or something like that in Australia.

Retail goods generally are more expensive in the UK, although Debenhams isn't a toy store and toys would generally cost more there.

Definitely not cheaper online though, they might only cost about £6.70 in the US but once you add shipping, import duty etc.

I've been seeing wave 1 of the Joe Muggs since nearly the beginning of the month, but what's interesting is that i got wave 2 of them at Target like a week ago. Destro and Baroness, which according to everywhere i looked online aren't due out until March.

The sad thing is i wasn't going to buy ANY of the Joe Muggs until i saw these two, and they are actually good enough to justify the rest of the set, which i thought were a little boring on their own merits.

Also on this subject i've heard rumors that all Mighty Muggs lines might get the axe this fall as Hasbro cuts their flagship properties down to just the core lines. It seems improbable since the Muggs are good sellers and have to be dirt cheap to produce, but i can't seem to find any new ones that they've got planned past early spring.

There was certainly the odd note where Entertainment Earth showed off the wave 3 figures for the TF Mighty Muggs line (Shockwave and Jazz) and immediately listed them as canceled. And the TF line hasn't even had the chance to be released yet and know whether or not it would fail or succeed!

The Indy MMs certainly haven't performed well, and I don't see Marvel sell too fast, but even then Marvel and SW haven't exactly been deemed failures either. And of course no Indy toys sold anyway. We'll have to wait for some more info.

The Indiana Jones line can't really be used as a yardstick, because as you said Boaconda, none of those toys sold anyway. It was a hugely disappointing movie for most of the demographic of adult collectors, and even the figures based on the classic movies were bland with inaccurate likenesses.

The Star Wars line does seem to be slowing down sales-wise, but i presume that's because the Star Wars collectors have been getting milked for every last cent they've got for thirteen years now. After tens of thousands of dollars worth of product based on six movies, you can't blame 'em for not jumping on board full throttle with the Muggs. Especially when instead of taking advantage of dozens or hundreds of available characters there's already two versions each of Vader, Luke, and Solo and several Stormtroopers/Clone Troopers. This would easily be fixed by releasing some interesting characters (more aliens!), but it might be too late for that.

Just from my limited perspective, the stores i visit regularly, the Marvel figures do seem to be selling through the best. Other than a ton of Hulk Muggs around here (i think at some point Hasbro shipped out a bunch of cases of JUST Hulk), i don't really see any one figure more than a handful of times before they're gone. Unfortunately for Marvel fans though, Hasbro hardly seems to consider Marvel a priority...Marvel Legends have been all but abandoned, the Spider-Man 3 and Hulk toys sold terribly due to their weird incompatible scales, the Superhero Squad line is more of a ripoff with each new wave, and when they hit one good line with the Iron Man movie they proceeded to basically ship out the same half dozen figures over and over again for 8 months.

This is quickly becoming a long rant, so i'll wrap it up just by saying yeah, i expect to see the end of the Mighty Muggs line in a few months. Probably a cancellation of the Galactic/Robot/Combat/Etc. Heroes lines as well, or at least a thinning out. I can even see Marvel Legends getting canned in favor of a 3 3/4" line, since that seems to basically be all Hasbro knows how to make successfully.

2009/10 is likely gonna be a pretty bland year for toys all around.

That's awesome, they must have had a fair bit of demand for a blank one to put one out.

If I had any artistic ability whatsoever I'd be all over that like a cheap fragrance. Can't wait to see what people come up with.

I hope the Mighty Muggs don't get axed.... I need to read up and find out if it's solid, cause I must have a Shockwave! Sucks. There are so many great Transformers that havn't gotten any love yet. Many I would buy, and who deserve a shot. Not to mention all the untouched (for no apparent reason) star wars characters. Really All these flippin lukes and jedis, but barely any aliens or expanded universe characters.

I could go on with lists, and I must admit I wouldn't buy all of these, but many I'd at least look at and wish for the room. There are many Marvel Muggs I have passed up on because they just don't fit my current setups. Thanos was Great! If they would have made Adam Warlock I'd have went nuts. Sabretooth with his gaping maw was cool, the Logan figure, and of course Galactus...which I will Buy as soon as I can snag him at a typical retail price. Booksamillion had one, but their muggs were 15 bucks a pop....not very affordable.

I don't see this line as being a loser of profit, they are made of recycled plastic, which is about as cheap as you can get, they reuse the same sculpt, so all they have to do is pay the art guy to come up with an appropriate skin for the figure, and they are getting 10 to 15 bucks a pop! The only reason this line has gotten hurt is because of Hasbro's poor character choices. They are lazy, You don't need 5 luke skywalkers, you don't need Grand Moff Tarkin....Indiana Jones? Really, that was just stupidly done. As soon as I heard they were going to even try doing IJ toys I saw Red stickers in my brain. But probably Hasbro's biggest thing is their poor packing! Cases of nothing but Hulks, Han Solos, Doctor Octopus??? Really when the Muggs came out these were the only 3 figures I would see for months, until they got a well mixed case in.

Rant Rant Rant....guess it's too late now. I wish I were a multi million dollar Toy Collector, cause I can assure you I would make some kickarse toys just for the sake of the hobby!


Now.....is there a decent checklist anywhere, that doesn't require you to register on another board. I want to make a list of the figures I know I want, but I'm not 100% sure of who they have made.

Man i wish i could find that last wave of Marvel Muggs. I've got just about every Marvel one so far, but i haven't seen those four anywhere.

I think i'm completely done with the Star Wars ones though unless i can find an Ewok or two at retail. And Bossk.

Thanks for the list Boa, there are quite a few missing from it though. I didn't see Bossk in there, or any of the newest wave figures. Hmm...

We need to set up a Mugg search and Trade thread, where everyone posts which muggs they want, and what they are willing to pay shipped (or trade for) So we can try and find the ones we are looking for each other. What sucks, is I don't want to pay $15 bucks for a mugg. And only the crap ends up on clearance, and sales are few and in between.

I will have to add some Mighty muggs to my wants list. The cool thing about Muggs is that you can actually pick and choose without being a completest! I even have a designated case for my small collection of 14 figs. Galactus is the awesome....just wish his helmet could come off.

So I walk into Toys'R'Us today, the same and only TRU I ever go too. Start looking around, and right on the shelf of leftover muggs, the same muggs in the same store in the same place they have always been. BOOM! Front row Venom Mugg. Is that weird or what? A first wave mugg of super popularity just appeared out of no where. So I bought him. Yay!

Reckon he was buried in the back of the stock room, and they found him hiding so put him out. As there was a Wave 1 Spider man as well. I normally don't pay full price for these guys, but the odd chance of it warranted the $11 buck purchase of Venom.

I was thinking about selling all my Mighty Muggs actually, but i don't know if it'd be worth it. Demand seems to be way down. Just sold my extra Henry Jones Mugg (once pretty rare and sought after) on ebay and it went for $4.99, MIB. Hooray for losing money.
