Not too long ago MT had a GITD claw that he cast for sale that was flexible rubber, and it looked like it glowed super bright..

I've been planning on PMing MT about that when I have some money to see if he still sells them. I've never seen a GITD pic brighter than that claw.

Really looking forward to AshuraShine flesh. I would definitely be in for GITD on that too.

Anyway, YES, glow will be tight. We're gonna try to work different colors, but either way, they're gonna be pricey. Unfortunately, glow powders are hella expensive. :/

Y'know, whenever someone I don't know asks about the rings (in person), I cop this mad serious look and tell them "...one for every man I've killed." I usually bust out laughing before the look of horror really sinks in on the other person's face! LOL For real though, I love me some Farscape (though I never really made the Zhaan-ring connection. Just wish the ending wasn't quite so rushed...

yeah that was me asking about the rings. they are way awesome and i agree that the ending was rushed, but they were told they were getting another season and possibly 2 then had the rug yanked out from under them and told the last ep of the season was the last of the show. so that is why they had the peacekeepers wars movie. to tie up the story.

as far as the glow in the dark ones, i would pay more that the $20 of the flesh if you need to account for the price of the powders. i think most people would agree that $20 for the flesh was quite the deal. i personally am totally wanting a glow in the dark one of these and if you need to add a bit to the cost, so be it! i will pay it

Heh...all this talk of GID AshuraShine figures has me chompin’ at the bit! But guys, keep in mind, we haven’t even gotten through the whole classic pink list! Remember: the plasticizer Alec uses to make these feel like MUSCLE PVC--rather than the original rubber kinkeshi--increase the cure time to several days. Alas, we ALL must be patient!

So we gotchu, Ridureyu. I’ll head up to Alec’s tower of alchemy and crack the whip! No collector left behind! LOL

So anyway, I have a question for y'all...

You can tell from the photos that the pink AshuraShines visually look very sharp. You can easily make out all the details in the sculpt at just a glance. I think it's because of the even tone of the pink rubber and the fact that it's very matte and opaque. Well, if you look at any of the white ones containing the special effect powders (before changing color in the sunlight, of course), it's the exact opposite. They look kinda like white amorphous blobs. There's very little contrast (basically no shadows), so it's harder to make out the surface details.

Well, I was thinking that for these white figures, maybe I can apply a thinned out black acrylic paint wash. It should seep into the crevices (of which, there are MANY!) and make the details stand out more. I think with the glow figures, especially, it would look hot because you'd probably see that detail in the dark as well.

Anyway, what do you guys think of this idea?
