I'm starting to think it's scenario 1.  In fact, the more I think about it, this DEFINITELY IS a joke, and toi_collector HAS to be someone on the boards.  Suggestions?

To be honest, Tortle, no one really "fell" for it. Doc -- and myself to a much lesser degree -- did our best to set this up as a legit auction. No purposeful clues were given that it was a sham.

However, Doc purposely made sure no real MUSCLE collector would believe the figure was real, and he set the reserve so high no moron who might think it was a real figure would win it.

Furthermore, as you note, it soon became apparent that not only was the figure a fake, but the auction was as well -- or at least you were given real reason to begin questioning its veracity due to the nature of the responses. (And that's exactly what you did.)

I hope you guys enjoyed sending in the questions -- which were just as funny as Doc's responses.

Well, I was going to post something along the lines of "Ah, this was funny, ha, ha," but I have to admit that I'm pretty pissed about it.

What can I say, I think it was mean-spirited and not real cool to trick genuine collectors.

Of course I'm messing with Soups, but he did do a good job of covering his tracks.

 Rokk and another unknown accomplice. Soupie and I have been brewing over this auction for several months now. Here is a little more insight to how it all went down. Soupie PM's me "Hey Doc, Veers, Tortle, Johnny, Rokk, Godbeast, and especially that trick Mischa are a bunch of tools, lets trick them somehow by making a fake auction". (maybe not his exact words  ) So I of course agreed. I actually made the BHS that same day, I dremmeled the shizznit out of it, just like Marty's sister, and I purposely left bits and pieces and bad drill marks around the edges. I also thought it would be funny to throw the pin in its arm, funny thing is, the arm is actually glued in place, the pin is just for aesthetic purposes. Anyways, the difficult part was trying to cover my tracks as good as possible so it would not be totally easy to figure out (which proved to be a success). I ordered a brand spanking new Credit Card through my Colorado address to hide my location, I made the ebay account with the colorado address, then later changed the location to furthurmore hide my identity. That took about a month to get together. The auction was going as planned, but the responses to the funny questions just got too fun and it soon was evident that this was a joke. I had help with some of the responses. I also wanted to bring Yapiel into it because it is just too fun screwing with him, and ths is where part of my plan failed. I went to change my name to Yapiel's mama, but since the account was not a month old yet, I could not change the name. I also went to change the item location to Glendale, but forgot when I actually revised it and once I did that I could not change it. As soupie mentioned previously it did cost some cash to put it on there, between the extra pics, ten day listing, and the major killer reserve. I had hoped not to get any bids, and I had hoped if someone was dumb enough that they would not go near the reserve, my only reason for saying this is to prove I was not out to eff anybody over, notice I closed the auction a couple hours early too just to be safe. Soupie and I have agreed the boards have been really stale as of late, and this auction was a good little tool to get things interesting again. I would say our plan worked. Plus I also got to screw with Yapiel a little in the process which is always a bonus. I loved the Q&A, and I am glad most of you did too. I just feel sorry for the Non-board members who kept asking questions because they will never know it was a joke hahahahahaha.

Personally I didn't think that this prank was funny in itself,

I agree and am shocked to learn there was a duo of evil geniuses behind it. I mean
it took both of you guys to come up with a M.u.s.c.l.e. with a hole in it?? LOL
You guys put both your heads together to orchestrate a diabolical plot and the best you could do was a MUSCLE WITH A HOLE IN IT?? Thank god you are on our side.

I think the best part of this was the way the board jumped all over this guy. The Q&A was where the real comedy was. We should start a new monthly contest. Where we find an auction and each send the auctioneer one question. Posting both Q & A on the board. Then vote on whos Q&A was the funniest. Winner picks next.

Of course there would be several rules/criteria that we would have to establish. Just an idea.

Well, Doc and I had considered building a life-sized animatronic MUSCLE that had a vocabulary of over 1,000 words and a nack for getting out corn oil stains.

In all seriousness, I understand your bitterness. However, remember that our goal was not to get people to bid on the auction. Our goal was to get people to say, "WTF! That is so fake. What and a-hole."

I assumed the reason Doc used a "MUSCLE with a hole in it," was to take a little jab at Yapiel and his possession of two real BHS.

Actually, I am kind of impressed with how much planning you guys had to put into it. The new credit card and the care you put into hiding your identity took some dedication.

You always gotta keep your eye on that Soupie. What a shifty character. And Doc, well, that isn't any real surprise. He is definately a well established shady guy. You know he abuses his position in the medical community to harvest and sell illegal organs.

I think this idea is funny as hell. I say you start it up in the sandbox with whichever auction you choose (since it is your idea), place some rules, then let us have some fun. Then we can vote like you said on who has the funniest Q&A and let the next guy pick a different auction. It would be funnier if the auctions were not toy related. For example, the "kitty fart" auctions wold be nice to screw with.
