Got these in the mail about two weeks ago, but I didn't see this thread until now. Came from a trade for a few spare Magic cards. (And if anyone else wants to trade BB for MTG, let me know.)



I collected Battle Beasts when I was a kid but didn't start until after they were out of stores (so '88 or '89). As a result, I only picked them up at garage sales & flea markets but I obtained 72 of the 76 plus a few lasers and one or two other nice pieces. I never lost my affection for them and so about the time Beast Saga was announced, I decided to finish my collection and start with Saga as well.

So by the time I got this collection, I already had all of these guys, but it was a huge step towards completing the 76 weapon set and replacing a few of my guys that were in poor condition.

1st up is a lot i paid £1 for, the mini Boglins and MIMP's speak for themselves, there's also a Blurp Ball piece, but no ball
The yellow guy furthest to the left is a complete mistery, as is the blue guy in the centre at the back, any help with these would be awesome.

I think I did pretty well out of the Lego promotion with the Sun last week. Scored 1 each of the Thor, Hawkeye, Frodo and Ninjago sets, 2 Police Boat sets, 4 each of the Quinjet, Construction Vehicle and Coffin Car sets and a whopping 21 of the Uruk Hai sets. All for a grand total of £11.50 since my mother was picking up the paper and throwing the Lego my way on some of the days and thanks to having a friend working at Smiths that was throwing us extras.

Here's the start of what will hopefully be an ever growing army of Isengard (though I doubt I'll ever be scoring Uruks this cheap again).



And here's everything I've built so far along with a couple of piles of parts for the bits box.



Mostly stock builds. With the Uruks I've built 17 of them fully armed and armoured and given 2 crew with just helmets to each of the ballistas I put together to show off the torso prints. The unused bits from the remaining ballistas have gone toward the ammo hoppers and equipment racks that I put together. Almost contained builds from the Uruk sets, I think the equipment racks also use a couple of Quinjet parts though. One of the police guys traded in his boat and life jacket for the extra set of handcuffs that came with Hawkeye with mostly parts from the boat and 2 construction vehicles making up the stretched version with the hopper. One of the Coffin Cars has had the front end reconfigured, not entirely happy with that yet, but I'll keep fiddling with those until I've got 4 different undead dragsters that I like. Minor mod but I swapped around the hands on the Zombies to make each figure different.

I'm not exactly a fan of Murdoch's papers myself (straight into the recycling with every one I walked out of the shop with last week), and I totally appreciate the particular problem with the Sun in your part of the country, but boycotting the paper doesn't really work as an effective form of protest. Newspapers are sold at a loss if you only take into account the cover price against the printing and distribution costs. If you want to hurt them you need to go after the advertisers that they make their money from.
