a guy i work with has sparked my interest in knife making. he's been making knives for a little while and has been teaching me some things. he showed me that site. i don't know where to get mammoth ivory, but i'm sure it's not cheap. considering how much india stag handle scales cost, i'd bet mammoth ivory is well over $100 for material.

I heard it was pretty common up there in the frozen wastelands of Siberia. They say the local nomads often find the tusks and take them back to camp for trade with the white man.

if you want to see some really cool knives, check out the galleries at sharpbycoop.com. some amazing knife work there. i've been going over all the pics for a couple of days now. i'm planning on making a custom knife for my dad for fathers day, so i've been checking around there to get ideas.

Cool book/comic book premise:

The year is 2013: A rash of alien sightings and visitations and seemingly paranormal activity begins occurring around the globe. The [blank] government assembles a team of eccentric experts to get to the bottom of things. The team is quickly confronted directly by whatever being(s) are behind the mayhem. Nuclear missiles are launched, international power grids are taken over and/or destroyed, some sort of "base" is discovered on the moon, etc. After many harrowing twists and turns, the team discovers the truth behind the origin of the being(s).

The being, singular, is actually a military AI created by the [blank] government and brought online on October, 26th, 2003. After years of tweaking and augmentation, the fully sentient entity had escaped from it's "captors" and had quickly begun the task of gathering the solar system's resources to do what every super intelligence would naturally do:

Prepare itself for its first confrontation with the "gods" that had quickly become aware of its presence and were on their way from the "higher" universes.

Ha ha! That's funny, but one can simply choose not to turn to the page, or completely close the book. :(

About 100 years ago, someone would have just wiped their @$$ with the page after reading it. :D (Well dat jus don make no sense.....:RIP: :wipe:
