Kinnikuman to Return to Jump in 1-Shot

This year's 21st issue (released on April 21) of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump has announced that Yudetamago's Kinnikuman wrestling hero title and Youichi Takahashi's Captain Tsubasa soccer title will return to the magazine after two decades. The planned one-shot manga are part of the 40th anniversary celebration for the magazine that also includes the new special animation being created for Dragon Ball and One Piece. Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo (Kochikame), Osamu Akimoto's police comedy manga that is still running after more than three decades, will also have a special extended one-shot manga.

Kinnikuman has been imported into America as the M.U.S.C.L.E. toys and the recent Ultimate Muscle (Kinnikuman Nisei Second Generations) manga/anime spinoff. Viz Media has been publishing the Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy which deals with the son of the first Kinnikuman, but the upcoming one-shot manga will center on the original hero. The Yudetamago artist duo's return is scheduled for June 16 in the magazine's 29th issue, while Captain Tsubasa and Kochikame's one-shot manga have not been dated yet.

Well, no matter what happens, Robin presumabely can't die. Or if he does, he's revived before things get out of hand.

And who knows, he might be stringing Thunder and Lightning along, in terms of being scared of the water. I mean, didn't Ramenman do the exact same thing with Bikeman?

Anyways, I honestly would enjoy a more "relaxed" finals of this arc, with Hells Bears beating the Expansions, the Time Chojins losing their match too, and Suguru and Mantaro burying the hatchet in their match too.

... Except after the finals, the true boss of the Thunder and Lightning show up and Chaos and Mantaro have one last, hyper-climactic fight.

My rationale for this is it's less formulaic than the usual "screw up the brackets *again*" ploy, like they did in Isei so that the bad guys were able to wipe out everyone except the Muscle Brotherers. And that could be possible, with Mantaro and Chaos fighting one batch of bad guys and winning while Terryman and Suguru fight the other batch and lose.

My other reason is the fact of the Time Choujin horns. Lightning's was on the right side of his head, Thunder's was in the center (or maybe vice-versa), and Chaos's was on the left. We could very easily have another pair of Time Choujins with one horn in the back of the head and another on the top. Or even *more* dream-matchy, with Kevin being revived, and him and Chaos and Mantaro taking on a trio of Time Choujins... the fifth one having a horn on the bottom of his head.

Honestly, I'm a little upset in regards to how Yude's let Kevin's popularity prevent him from seriously losing. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that our hero Mantaro's got someone who served as his foil, but I dislike the whole "rebel bad-boy" character with few exceptions, and some of his absurd victory moments, Blockz/Legocz, for example, would be much better off if someone *other* than him had those moments, like Jade. At the very least, this arc's put Kevin in a plot-related position but not given him the opportunity to hog the spotlight.

Wow, everyone COMPLETELY spazzed out. Don't really blame 'em though, it really is Deja Vu all over again.

I'm...slightly confused, and it's porbably due to missing frames of the chapter. Okay, so it seems Kevin's mask was oufitted with an oxygen supplier for while he was in the 'Medical X'. Robin figured this out and used it so he could last underwater rather than get pwned like against Atlantis.

Now, I'm really hoping Kevin's out of the water, or has SOMETHING ELSE to keep him from drowning.

And hey, we get Maskless! Robin for a few clips.

^Doing that because my whining about Jade losing started that annoying *Jade explodes* crap. In stead of making him explode, I made him win a match. Wait... that can't happen because of worf effect. I fail.

Indeed they use the Worf Effect far too much. One of the reasons I like the Golden Mask arc is the fact that everyone except Warsman's contributions amount to something that isn't stupid like "Hey, forget about me and punch him in the heart!". Hell, even Wolfman had a decent run of usefelness in that arc between reviving Suguru and helping him overcome Shogun's Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams, IMHO.

They're also a slave to Good is Dumb, except in the case of Ramenman, so I added that to the list on tvtropes.

XD Honestly, I think Kin has a bigger male fanbase. Most girls hate muscular men like our lovely Chojins. I just think the girl fanbase are more active than the men. (With their artwork, fanfics.. etc) There aren't a lot of male fans that do that type of stuff in fandoms... So, yeah. *pats Matto* You're a rarity among your gender. 8D
