wonder why its taking the figures so long to spread out. By the time you guys get 5-8, 9-12 will already be on its way.

HAH!!!! By the time we get them series 1000-1004 will be out and sold out.....

This topic needs to stay open until everyone gets theirs, this is getting ridiculous...I think waiting for these figures is making me dislike the series.

I know the feeling. In all honesty, this large gap in time between Series 1-4 and Series 5-8 has pretty much killed my interest in these toys.

Released SOON?? Why does everyone keep saying that?? "They'll be released soon", "Wait another month", every month I hear that.

I totally agree. I got the first four series last December. It's now 8 months later, with no hope of finding new figures. Everyone is saying that the "official release date" for series 5-8 is July (and I'm not even sure where this date came from), but people were finding them in March! What's with the time discrepancy?!

Is the problem with Bandai in that they didn't anticipate the demand? Or are the retailers just not ordering the new sets? At this point, I don't even care anymore. When I walk into a toy store, I don't even look for Ultimate Muscle toys because I know all I'll find are the peg-warming first few series. I still hope I find the new toys, but they're pretty much off my radar screen.

I think the problem in my area is LACK of demand. They never got much shelf space (except for Target) and those three or fur pegs are still crammed full. The closest Wal-Mart to me has put them on clearance finally, and so what's left is now dwindling away. But I honestly think for the longest time I was the only one who had bought any there. There were certainly no other collectors around. I really don't have much hope of them being replaced with the next wave when they're finally gone.

That's the problem here, too. Everybody else on the board is saying how well they're selling, so I just assumed that Charlottesville was a fluke. But I still see plenty of series 1-4 collecting dust (quite literally) at all the retailers. People just aren't buying them.

Maybe the retailers just aren't ordering the next sets because the first ones flopped.

You have to keep in mind not everything does well everywhere, last year I went to the toys R us right here (in florida) and I saw ECW figures here. Keep in mind the series was discontinued way before then and I had a hard time finding some of them anywhere else. Were they on sale? No but thats besides the point. Also talking about wrestling figures I saw an Owen hart figure afew good months after his death in a toys r us, its all to do with location, this is how I picked up afew starcom things dirt cheap brand new (but i was little so I had to open them) but regardless, its all location. Also toys only make afew stores sometimes, I know because as I said my dad worked for kenner for afew years (the febuary toy shows were cool, and I saw some things some of the buyers werent able to see since it was for certain companyies only) and I know I never saw about a good quarter of the items hit the shelves near me but across the country they did. I mean its weird, but thats how it works. I cannot find series 1-4 anymore in new york, they cleared even toys r us in times square and let me tell you, they had ALOT. DOes that mean they will get more in? No. But they are disapearing wherever I have gone. I have been saying not to worry about it untill another month agter the expected release date, which is in another month since the begining but nobody listens to me. I personally doubt we will see em, but I hope we do. It could be like digimon toys, they will just be in such a small number you dont even know they exist. Only time will tell though.

I realize that different areas have different distributions and demands. Countless times my location has had a glut of a toy while other locations have seen sparce distribution, and vice versa.

But even though UMs have sold out in New York, that doesn't mean that the line is selling well in other locations. Here, and throughout much of Virginia, they are pegwarmers. If they are pegwarmers in most areas, I think we can safely rule out ever seeing another series. But, like I said, Virginia may be inconsistent with the rest of the country.

I have been saying not to worry about it untill another month agter the expected release date, which is in another month since the begining but nobody listens to me.

 Why do you say that next month is the "expected release date"? Did Bandai mention that at a convention or something?

Also, let's remember that all this may be moot. The toy drought that has persisted for most of the year has just now lifted, so maybe we'll start seeing some new UM stuff soon, too.

I say a month after the expected release date because I have always found figures.com a month too early in the expected release date. Well it was an afiliate of figures.com wrestleguide.com but since I am fairly sure they recieve their info from the same people, tahts the reason why i say that. I mean I have learned time and time again this. Even when they say something is out now i find it later not when they say with afew rare exceptions.

Now when I say new york is selling them well, I dont mean JUST new york city, I even am talking about rochester which is upstate NY. Also I find its not too easy to find them in florida either and from what othre people are saying they cant find them too frequently in their store either. But we are in a down season of toys, keep that in mind. They may think other things will just do better and they are holding back. It happens unfortunatly. ALso I remember when the wrestling figures did the same exact thing. They went for 6 months without having anything really new. Yes they had afew repaints, but it wasnt even many of those. It happens...

Honestly I dont think the "toy drought" as you so eliquently put it is over yet, I think its just begun, but that is anothre topic....

Dear Jkaris,

We've previously read your message board and came across some topics regarding mixed packs to increase collectability. Well, instead, to increase the collectable market for this toy line, we decided to send these figures in very short supply to only 10 U.S. cities.

Love,

-Bandai

I hate to say this more than anything, but I'm beginning to think that Ultimate Muscle will slowly but surely fall into the recesses of toy history. I'm really starting to doubt that any of us will ever see 9-12 other than in pictures on yahoo Japan. Dosen't mean I still don't want em though.

Lets take a moment of silence for the great toyline that was known as Ultimate Muscle..... <_<

Bzzzapouch... I know it's a joke, but I wouldn't doubt if that were the real message.

Though I've completely given up on finding the damn things (why the eff don't they just sell them on the Bandai site?!?!) I would still love to have them eventually (and by eventually, I mean by the time the earth freezes over completely and Humans become extinct).

My hopes for 5-12 are dashed along with any hope for series 13-16 with Ickymon McMad, Vance McMad, a Painted Meat, Buttman, and Doc Nakkano....

There's a 13-16? Do you have pics.

Anyways, yeah I'm another guy that got them in March, I didn't even know about them or the cartoon, lol. I sleep in until like 2 PMish on Saturdays.

So if they were due in December, I got them in March, I'll say I'll see 5-8 in September/October. Also, I live in Cumberland, MD, it sucks.

I have to go to Altoona, PA or Keyser, WV to get Muscles. Out in Altoona, Walmart had "new" stickers, but the shelves were empty, I ask the lady and got a line of BS about her not knowing anything. I went to the Target out there and I have never seen any Muscles in Target, not even 1-4. TRU and K-Mart in Altoona have 5 Ramenman's each verying with peach and gray knees. They're on discount for 5.00. I figure that if the shelves are that empty they have to be coming soon.

I don't collect TMNT anymore, I did from 88-94 until they got lame, but I'm not getting the new set, but I've seen them everywhere in masses so for those who can't find them they are out and they're tons of them.

Seriously, over here in Massachussettes, when they were in Target, they FLEW like crazy off the shelves at least by March when the new ones "Supposedly" came out. The Card Game was sluggish as hell, though, and there were like 2 action figures left on Shelves during the half off mark down, Robinmask and Ramenman, whom were only in like 1 episode for a minute. Kids do NOT know who they were. But a week later... Zoom... those whent too. I had to buy Suguru Kinnikuman (classic, original MUSCLEman) at a comic store for 12 bucks!!!

They probably don't sell any more because they like to focus on the negatives and not the positives, so Bandai is sitting on boxes upon boxes of these things having a little pitty party. Meanwhile, I see more and more Power Rangers merch piling up over the millions of undeserved pegs. Sorry... they don't sell a LICK over here!
