Holy crap i saw pictures of the upcoming movie-based Iron Man 3 3/4" line. They are incredible.

Also there's apparently a Spider-Man companion line coming up to be sold alongside MU, just like the Spider-Man Classics were to Marvel Legends.

I am going to need to start selling drugs.

Anyone wanna buy some drugs?

am i the only one not blinded by the crazy fanboy fever we've all started developing over this line? that black and red spiderman looks terrible. who ever they got to do the wash on it must have been cross-eyed or an orangutan. don't get me wrong, the premise is great, the execution is horrible. the other spidey however does look great. you would think that they'd go out of their way to make their showcase figures look even better than the actual product. am i giving hasbro too much credit here? probably.

Yep, way too much credit for Hasbro. :D

Scum, there has been some debate those Spiderman figs are bigger than that.....I sure hope so. :( I don't think I can afford to buy 3 active lines at a time, and MU has so many Spidermans already. :D But they look like they would go great with the XOW figs. And that Iron Man series looked great as well! I hope, and it looks like, they will be having comic series type figures in that line as well, so I will have to try and pick up the ones I like out of those. :) Hasbro has been pulling out the stops lately, but I feel they are being overly aggressive right now. So many waves, and all in a similar scale, with very fast release dates... I think they may over tax the collector market and possibly injure their own profits, as well as endanger the key lines. Hope that doesn't happen. It happened with Star Wars, almost none of the SW figs from last year have been sold lately, and they are clogging up pegs everywhere I go. They just kept releasing the same characters over and over and over! It's sickening, and the price hike didn't help.

Anywho. More shots!!! ;)

And the DareDevil Silver Surfer and Iron Man 3 Pack.....Looks great! Especially Stealth Iron Man. :)

Ugh, Silver Surfer and the Torso that Doesn't End. And with his colors, he even looks more like Iceman instead. The other two figures in that set are excellent though.

I'm just a tad irritated that the 6" Iron Man line is apparently obsolete, but I can't argue much with the figures we'll be getting for IM2. And comic figures too! AND it looks like the XMO team is doing these instead of MU. I can't say for sure because I only own one MU (and that's Hulk) compared to three XMOs, but I think I prefer their articulation style. But note to self - finally pick up an Iron Monger, since he'll be in scale to the IM2 stuff.

wait, doesn't everyone have a 24-pack? :) i agree with the colors also. too bad they couldn't have chromed him like the super hero squad figure. my guess is that it just didn't look right for the level of detail they're requiring at this scale. i believe that chroming process doesn't lend itself to fitting into the tiny little nooks and crannies that these characters have. i guess they could have at least used silver paint though.

Well, I'm going into town hoping to find these 3 packs. I had heard rumors that the DareDevil pack was hitting shelves...but I sort of doubt it. I hope my TRU at least has the other two. :) So aside from those, the only thing I think I need to find is the Thing Variant.

You know the odd Torsos on these things were the first thing that sort of turned me off about them. I remember seeing Human Torch and Iron Fist, and thinking their bodies looked terrible (and the same), too musclely.... But they are much better in hand, not great sure, but better than expected. However Iron Fist is still probably the worst figure in the series yet. He has very little comic accuracy what so ever. Hasbro did good with the fist coming on the new variant, but it also wouldn't have been hard for them to glue a body crest around his neck and chest. Or whatever you call those things.

I think the main thing they did different with the 3 pack SS was deeper paint washes.

I actually kind of like the long torsos on some of the figures. At first the super-skinny Iron Man kind of bothered me, but i'm growing to like it as a stylistic choice. Makes all the characters look very streamlined somehow.

And i agree with you Boa on the better articulation for the W:O line, but i think the paint on them is largely pretty awful. Also things like the brown and orange Wolverine have the worst face sculpts i've ever seen. It looks like a lot of the Secret Wars figures have improved articulation though, and the standard clean paint of the MU figures, for the best of both worlds.

Well, all I saw was tons of Wave 3, tons of Wave 2 repacks, and only a few handfuls of Wave 4. No Exclusives, not Hanful of Heroes....I'm sad. I'm actually already getting exhausted trying to keep up with this line, and it's apparent unplanned release dates. I think I may try my best to buy most of what I can off Hasbrotoyshop and Toys'R'Us.com.

My main problem is all my stores get stuff at different times, and some stores don't get anything at all. It's really hard trying to keep up. And with only one TRU store within reasonable distance any exclusives are gonna be hell to grab. Walmart exclusives shouldn't be too tough, there are TONS of walmarts around here. But then again I've only seen specific star wars comic packs at only one walmart.

Oh! And more Photos revealed.

Some better shots of the Giant's Scale, and their counterparts.

jeebus. they sure like bragging about the figures i really want but will never see in the stores apparently. that luke cage looks awesome and so does thor, cap and iron man. a part of me wishes i had hopped on in the beggining and got them all. another part of me is glad i haven't because i'm not a huge fan of every single sculpt. and i'm still pissed about the double human torch figs so far and still no juggernaut or apocalypse.

Is it just me, or do some individual characters in this line have more versions out than there are villain figures in total? I really wish they balanced the line out a little bit.

Yeah, I havn't bought any off line yet, or have tried to. Wave 4 sold out very quickly when it first popped up at HTS. But I have been making it a habit to check it everyday at least more than once. I have a terrible feeling that this is going to be another HUGE scalper trendy toyline. :p I'm getting sick thinking about it. I'll have to be extra vigilant if I want to score one of those Gray Hulk repacks in Wave 5 too. And although we have tons of Wally worlds over here, we also have a big handful of creeps who do nothing but make toy runs to scalp all the top selling or most popular toys. And we sure do have them coming in this line. Hasbro has been doing alright not to shortpack many figures. What's so bad is there appears to be 12 figures to a case. 10 figures come 1 to a case and bestsellers usually 2 it seems. Like Spiderman, or Iron Man.

And they have been great about reinserting popular secondary characters in later waves so far.

But man, we aren't even over the first year of production with this series and we are already seeing some nifty and somewhat obscure characters. Fingers crossed for a Maestro Hulk, and an X-Factor team. -_- We are already seeing a few newer body types. The Modern Thor kind of reminds me of Black Knight.

Also i just saw that WWII Cap and peed a little bit. Plus hooray for modern Luke Cage. If i could marry a toyline i'd marry Marvel Universe.

here's some shots of thing. i thought about posting a review as suggested by a friend but decided not to. he's really kind of basic. simple costume, simple sculpt, simple paint apps. his poseability is only slightly more articulated than the hulks. but only in the legs, everything else is the same. his mass is slightly smaller than the hulks too, which may be why you can actually pose his legs.

here's some shots.

I'm really excited about all those new figures. I was really hoping for a Black Widow too, but I think they could have done much better on her. I think they should try to come up with a better body type for the female figures.

Nice pics Dan! I have a hard time taking pictures of Carded figures sometimes, so I don't like to try too often.

If I can I will try to have this weeks review up...It's not for Marvel Universe, but it will feature some of them. I tried to have it up yesterday, but was too tired to finish writing it.

You guys should feel free to write up some reviews yourself. It's usually far and in between that someone actually uses that section of the board, so I've been more than happy to try and keep it active lately. I only plan on reviewing certain MU figures myself.

And what the Heck is so Great about Gray Hulk? :D I was under the impression that people hated that whole Green vs. Gray shtick that Marvel had going on in the 80's and 90's. Why would anyone pay $70 bucks for an already (feasibly) overpriced action figure that not only will be re-released, but is only a few months old? It's not like Hasbro only made like 300 of the things. There's got be thousands of them out there right now.

I'm actually disgusted with the fact that the 2010 Spider-Man line, despite the wide variety of characters that would be available to make in the new scale, is ALREADY devolving into the nonsensical style of figures that you see on shelves in the 6" scale right now, with a damn Scuba Spidey right in wave 1! Because having that crap shelfwarm over the past five years just wasn't enough! There is a Gobbo and Venom in the same wave at least, but from the slideshow alone, I'm not impressed yet.

Superhero Squad Moon Knight looks badass and all, but just TRY and guess who comes with him.

I kinda like the plan for MU 2010, dumping Nick Fury for Osborn and HAMMER and promoting Dark Reign, since Secret Invasion came and went before the line even appeared. Even the packaging looks more sinister. And every 2010 figure is spectacular (minus Black Widow). No stretched torsos, an improved Extremis Iron Man with added articulation, the news with Thor's articulation, gah! Next year looks to be when MU really tries to get me.

And, the Juggernaut, bee-eye-itch.

oh my god, oh my god (running around like homer missing the chili cook-off). i'm putting out a bounty on all scalpers right now. if i don't get a juggernaut, the entire world will suffer...

hmmm...i just realized that this toyline is bringing out the best in me. i think i'll go and reflect on what this toyline should mean to me.

before i go though. i'm delving into the red hulk variances. been doing some ebay research and testing a theory i have about the glossy vs. matte figures. from the pictures it seems like the ones with the nick fury offer in the corner of the blister tend to mostly be glossy, while the ones without are matte. it's pretty hard to tell for sure with some of the lousy pics on there. can anyone here confirm or deny this finding? also, does anyone know why the nick fury offer is being left off some of the figures?

I know i keep coming in here and saying basically the same thing, but damn. I want to have that Galactus's babies.

If Hasbro can actually deliver on all this stuff and keep up on the pace (which considering their other three flagships i know they can!), this is going to be the greatest toyline of all time for comic book fans.

I'm not even sad that i'm going to have to start auctioning my organs on the black market to afford it. I will drop so many other things to keep up on this one.

And RE: the ridiculous Spidey variants in his upcoming line, i can't think of a single time when an excess of variants kept the better figures in a Spider-Man line off the shelf. I was able to find every single villain in the Spider-Man Classics line without difficulty, and many of them i saw on pegs repeatedly over an extended period of time. They also issued refresher cases on occasion with a handful of villains from previous waves, and that worked really well. Given Hasbro's already proven policy of re-issuing popular figures into the line, i don't see this one being a problem. And kids DO buy those go-go gadget Spideys, i've seen it with my own eyes. The only times i've seen a glut of thunder-punch this and crap-glow that kill a line, those figures had a Mattel logo in the corner.

In the early years of the Spider-Man Classics line, I never saw the awesome villains, especially when they were brand-new, and I vividly remember seeing the same Manga Spider-Man figures on shelves for years at a time. The current series and Spider-Man Origins were a different story entirely, and as sick as it is to imagine, you are correct. Somehow, those more bizarre scuba gear and gimmicky Spideys do sell. These days, the animated figures are the ones shelfwarming, even villains!

I don't really remember the Manga Spider-Man figure pegwarming, in fact i had to get mine from a comic shop because i couldn't find it in stores. In general though the whole ToyBiz Spider-Man line was kind of mismanaged. It just felt really random and experimental, and i'd imagine you'd see different pegwarmers depending on your area. Even the villain selection was as random and incoherent as the array of Spider-Man variants. Not to say i didn't like a lot of the figures, but seeing a classic Sandman on the pegs next to a water-squirting Ultimate Dr. Octopus and an Humberto Ramos Green Goblin was always a little jarring. Hopefully this one will be better.
