Here's the first of the new wave of pics, w/color added just today. the colors are a kind of kudos to soupie, because the four colors represented here are the same four the figure is known to exist in...

Here's an interesting one from the indy section: meat drawn as an egg. The artist has this thing where all his charachters are made to look like food, and meat was the most egg-shaped figure I had with me. no background treatment on this one, and all the color was done by the artist.

The most recent Kevin Steele is finally ready! This was at the local comicon, at the stumblebum studios booth (where oilman was done), and my jaw nearly dropped when I saw that Kevin's price had jumped up to 20 bucks per sketch! But he's always done great work, and I had some great selections with me, so set the book down and he picked a great subject. It's a beautiful sketch of Gohriki, completely ignoring the musculature and focusing almost entirely on the face and hair. This sketch is different than all the other professional artist peices in the book, in that the space and design of the picture really seem to be important.
For a long time, I've wanted to do a color muscle peice in the poster-print style of Andy Warhol, with bright colors in places they don't belong but somehow work well, and repeats of the same image under different cplacement of colors from the same pallet. Kevin's Gohriki was perfect, and I think my two weeks worth of color work to use the 5 known Gohriki colors paid off. From a design standpoint, this is my new favorite.
Anyone who likes Kevin's stuff here should do a search for stumblebum studios. He's got a great gallery there.

For the four-panel, I had intended to have each of the five colors only used three times. And I thought that was possible since there were only four fields per panel. It turned out that the (5 colors X 3 uses each = 15)<(4 panels X 4 fields = 16) meant that green had to be used 4 times instead of three. Took me two days to figure out math beats art

I've also started re-scanning and color-fixing the original posts, to the quality standards I'm currently using. Starting on pasge one, they're getting facelifts, and a documented view count from before. Everyone please let me know what ya think.

I'd say that's a pretty descent price for this project! A great Hobby usually calls for a nice investment anyways. I for one always look forward to new pics.

This pic is colored and backgrounded all digitally, and the original will be colored to match later on. #5, planetman!
