I'm probably the only one here that likes Team Phoenix. The fact that they're all ridiculously overpowered is why I like them. They bring a sense of despair/hopelessness to the whole situation.

Actually, I like them, too.

I didn't say I hated Team Phoenix, just Super Phoenix. Prisman is crazy yet lovable and Mammothman...well at first he seemed bland until I realized he was the true genius of the team.

Going by just chojin power is not a good indicator as to who's stronger than who. There are plenty of instances in this manga where lower power chojins beat higher power chojins.

Another reason why I like Team Phoenix so much is because they have a large variety of insane moves. And amongst those moves, each member has a move that can OHKO an opponent. They really show why they are the most dominant team in the tournament. Their only downside is their arrogance, which eventually costs them afterward.

Right now I'm reading the Samson Cross vs. Ashuraman fight, and it is awesome. Why Toei decided to omit this fight in the anime is beyond me. Considering how important this fight is to Ashuraman's character, I found that decision to be pretty stupid.

Sailor Moon anime, Digimon Savers, Mari being important, giving 4kids One Peice.

Toei Moneymation's stupid choices are hilarious.

(fan of the SM anime, unless it has to do with some of the crappy decisions like the 4th season or how we'll never get Stars here)

As for why no Satan Cross/Ashuraman, I have three reasons in my head as to why they didn't air it:

1. Keep Team Phoenix's evil mystique (if they revealed that one of them was essentially the one who taught friendship to Ashuraman at that early phase, they'd probably ruin any mystique Satan Cross/Samson Teacher had at that point to those watching the anime)
2. Ashuraman overexposure (he was the main villain for two of the previous arcs and they probably wanted to show off The Ninja, who at the time only had the fight with Brocken Jr. back in the Gold Mask saga)
3. Time (Toei probably knew the schedule they had to tell the whole arc in and figured they could cut out this fight and keep to their plans...even if we got filler moments like Big Body actually attacking Phoenix and...well, a whole episode devoted to Motorman)

Basically alot of things about anime!Sailor Moon, got rid of excellent plot points the manga made, added fridge logic, but made the villains sans the classic arc more fleshed out and enjoyable.

A famicom controller? Awesome.

Also, I hate Mammothman because he's just so obnoxiously overpowered and obnoxiously obnoxious at the same time.

Phoenix just seems like a brat who was bullied all his life and suddenly has power...and decides to bully others with it instead of using it for good. He just seems like a puppet of the Evil Gods to me.

Chp. 340: So this is where Leno was hiding when his 10 show bombed: http://mangahelpers..../releases/19244

Umm, isnt that what he is supposed to be?

EDIT: I noticed this before and you guys might have noticed it too, but, the cover of vol. 28 is the only cover without Kinnikuman in the front cover...

I... Think you might need to look over this sentence.

"Phoenix: For example, taking the example of the currently popular Famicom: when you operate a controller without being explained its usage; a malfunction occurs in the internal computer and functions with the hidden program, denoted in the changed movement of the character in the game."

It's not really interpretable.

Also, I suggest replacing "cheat" with the more accurate "glitch", since that's what they're doing - They're glitching the system (which is also presumably what Phoenix is referring to), they're not entering something like the konami code. But it's trivial, I guess.

You know, Suguru referring to himself as Muscleman kind of struck me... I mean, I realize you have to give the fanbase what they want when scanlating (Kinniuman, chojin, etc), but... Yeah, I wonder how "Muscleman" would've worked. Of course, that'd create confusion with Harabote Muscle.

Well, as out there as it is, I have to say this is probably the best fight in a long, long time.

I had a bit of a problem with the word: in Japanese it's "urawaza", which in my dictionary went as "underhanded trick". It didn't feel right to use "trick", but somehow "cheat" ended up popping into my head after the whole part about "skipping levels" in Phoenix's explanation. But somehow you're right: glitch is probably the correct word and I'll be changing it ASAP.

As for the Phoenix explanation you noted, I changed it...but the thing is that Phoenix does go into "not knowing how to use a controller":

Taking the example of the currently popular Famicom, for starters: when you operate a controller without explanation of application, such things as accidents occur to the internal computer, denoted in the changed movement of the character in the game.

That's the best I really could come up with.

And aside from the light from the magic square Suguru was going to fold...yeah, this fight rocks.

That depends on how accurate you want it...

"For instance, with the currently popular FamiCom: If you use a controller without instructions, the internal computer malfunctions, making the game's character moving differently."

Hmm... since I don't do translating, I can't say much on the line itself. However, this arc was release in 1986, right? Why are they making a Famicom reference three years into it's life? While the context makes some sense (user controlling the outcome...or something), why the late reference?

Off-topic: Famicom cartridges were pretty awesome. Never liked the NES gray monster cartridges. Ever.

It's nice to see that Kinnikuman is getting more popularity on One Manga. Out of the 1058 mangas over there, I've noticed the ranking for Kinnikuman has fluctuated from 190 to 208. Finally this series is starting to get some recognition.

Basically it's like such: though Famicom first came out in 1983, it just kept growing bigger and bigger until it was a phenomenon in Japan by 1986. The Japanese kids were buying the system and buying the games. My guess is that with Kinnikuman sort of keeping abrest with what kids were interested in or referring to matters of pop culture, either were interested enough in the Famicom or saw it's importance with the Jump crowd they were marketing to that they decided to make the reference and in connection with the fight with the "giant Famicom controllers connected to the ring" in this fight. (but as I mentioned before: the whole purpose for the Famicom controller ultimately was just for that one scene where Suguru's side does the glitch to show him where his Defend Suit was...they should have just had one button for releasing suit pieces if they were just going to be so lazy about it)

I guess I have to re-re-re-adjust that one scene...again. Moments like that I guess make me wonder why I'm doing this series instead of someone else but oh well.

Sexy Kin29 webpage. Very sexy.

Impressive, they put up the entire Warsman one-shot. Someone needs to capture and save it so someone can get around to it later.

Oh and as for the chapters:

1. Warsman Begins: Confession of the Mask (the Warsman origin one-shot)
2. Kinnikuman vs. Terryman (assuming it's the oneshot they already had in the Nisei volume)
3. Kinnikuman's Wedding Ceremony (the one-shot from 2008 I'll be getting to after I finish the series)
4. Muscle Returns (probably the new version with "younger Kevin Mask")
