There's always going to be issues when the state is "taking care" of your kids...

 

One time they took away my kid's lunch because he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. One kid in the school apparently had a peanut allergy. No substitute lunch, just go hungry until you get home. No warning to parents not to bring peanuts in the classroom, nothing, just no lunch for my boy. Also, they never said anything to us, the parents, it all came out when we were asking him what was wrong, he was starving and feeling sick by that point. Seriouslyy felt like beating the piss out of the teacher.

Yeah. I just had a thing down at my daughter's middle school, yesterday. I had to have a little "Come to Jesus" with the principal over some stuff, and a teacher's super inappropriate email commentary when I sent him an email to address the issue. I never insulted the man, and kept any personal commentary out of the emails, and then forwarded them to the principal to show her what I was dealing with. It's f**king frustrating. The principal was equally appalled, and she handled it, but why does it always have to seem to come back to this kind of shit?

Don't know, we had an issue not to long ago with my other son's middle school bus. Some kids were starting fights, bullying, and generally acting like animals while the driver did nothing. Well, I guess he would step in if it was too noisy and they were getting on his nerves. I told my son of the merits of a bar of soap and a tube sock... really I just encouraged him to first tell the offending kids to cut it out, when that doesn't work go ahead and scuffle I'll stand behind you 100% and have words with the driver if it comes to it. He did this, even decked one of the schmucks. Bus driver did squat.

 

This is when I looked up their training manual, copied the portion that explains how their job is more than getting kids from point A to point B, but they are to do so safely. They are to be aware of what's going on in the bus and deal with situations (really before it becomes a situation) I forwarded this to my wife and left it up to her. Told her I am meeting the bus driver at the stop tomorrow to explain his job to him, hopefully he would be stupid enough to call the police or something (showing he has no idea how to deal with a situation) My wife decided to go ahead and speak to the principle, report the driver and the main offending bully. The situation was dealt with promptly as I guess having an extremely frustrated parent ready to cause a scene on the bus isn't high on their list of things they want to see happen.

Yeah. Working with kids is tough... But if you aren't up to it, don't try to collect a paycheck for it.

So, I'm scrolling through my phone pics and lo and behold, a poop pic! Yep. A while back I was in our garden (which is fenced off) and somehow our dog got in and decided it was a nice place to drop a load. I took a pic and texted it to my wife because I was pissed that she forgot to latch the gate, so the dog was able to get in and poop on the path.

I saw the pic last night and got a nice chuckle at the irony of it.
