does anyone have a quality close-up of a gold miniboglin or all the gold miniboglins. i'm having a hard time telling the difference between gold and brown.

I am having trouble with this as well. I don't know if I actually have any gold ones or not. A comparison picture would definately help :D

Here's a close up of two gold chiefs from the Toypedia entry (not to be confused with Kellogs gold)

Posted Image

They can vary in color but they tend to have a hint of green to them in my opinion :D

i would agree. somtimes they even lose alot of the gold and appear slightly translucent. they often have much more patternation and swirling in the colour than standard colours also.

yes, in fact it's very similar to what we've seen in the gold Laser Beast weapons. I think Marty said it had to do with the color pellets not mixing properly.

The gold ones definitely have a distinctly metallic look to them. Like a gold crayon, sort of. The difference between gold and brown in person is huge.

EDIT: Yeah, didn't see this last page... :D

My problem is really with a green one that I have. Its very swirly and sorta looks goldish but I don't have anything else that looks like that so I really don't know if it is gold or green. Any thoughts?

Its Bug. After comparing it to the pics when I got home it looks more green. So either its lost its color like you said or it is just a green I haven't seen before.

Has anyone heard of Chief Karf from the Tough guys being produced in a very Dark green that allmost appears translucent on his pitch fork. I ask this because I'm not sure if I've picked up a custom model, a rare colour that I havn't seen before or If it's actually gold that has become seriously damaged by sunlight.

Nocturin.

*Edits* Didn't see this last page, apparently they have been known to turn translucent dark green

Just for the record Gold has been known to turn Green (maybe slightly translucent) and there IS a page 4 in this thread. :(

Anyway how come the silver figures dont do this?

I'd assume it's because the pigment/colouring/whatever isn't as light sensitive. Just because it's metallic doesn't mean it's going to have the same properties exactly as another metallic colour.

It's like those old black and white photos - how they used to be painted to give them colour - anyway all the colours fade out except the red used for the lips - why didn't the flesh pink stay? what about the other colours? Blue and green etc.

The red was made with a particular kind of dye which is very good at surviving exposure to adverse conditions.

neon yellow, olive, orange

I finally got around to cataloging my collection and I was checking this thread to make sure I get the correct color names to make it easier to trade.

I was just wondering if anyone thinks the "orange" one above looks more yellow? "Mustard" maybe??

edit - oops attachments won't work...its on the first page in nano's post with the all the colors pictured

There may be a problem with that Galthisan.... I'm the current bidder on the carry case, and I've gone pretty damn high
Oh and I'm also the bidder on the pre-historic 3 pack, allthough not nearly as high :D
