[Meat's fan]

Rate I'm going, I've got 6 chapters left: two with the wacky adventures of Suguru and Bibinda and the "Magnificent 7" story. Besides, are that many people really that anticipatory of the Golden Mask? If they want to know what happens, then just have them click the following spoiler:

Every single time I get into a discussion about the series, someone will always say something to the effect of "I can't wait for the Gold Mask arc". Always. Hell, just the other day, someone very bluntly requested that we skip the next few arcs (not realizing they've already been translated) and get right to Akuma Shogun. (At this point I'm temped to do the whole thing in Comic Sans just to spite them.)

At least I'm enjoying the America arc.

I guess you and I are the only two who actually like these chapters. They don't sound important when you're just hearing about them, but they really do add a lot to the later chapters. By that time, Ramenman and Terryman have already been well established, so skipping these chapters makes the characters seem incredibly bland. I actually like those guys after reading these chapters.

I didn't really mind the wheelchair kid chapter on it's own, I just really, REALLY hate doing those between-match buildup chapters. I still have nightmares about the one with Robin Mask and the giant animals...

Ramenman really only seems to have the establishment of being a "honorable brutal Choujin" from what we've seen (though I still haven't done the "Magnificent Seven" bit which starts to show a bit on confronting Brocken Jr.)...Terryman though at least feels more complete as a character due to this, even if it ends up ruining Suguru's rampage of America which defined the first half of the arc. And the build-up chapters...yeah, most of them were sucky, but I did like Alisa's first appearance in that one with the giant animals. (which really had nothing to do with anything but to continue to at least attempt to make Kinkotsuman a threat at that point)

I have finished two more vol. 7 chapters (I'll alert you guys when I finally put it on Mangahelpers, but essentially I've finished off everything but the Magnificent Seven, which I'll start Monday...and that "Choujin Olympics recap" prior to the Devil Choujin arc) and I've noticed that a lot of this early part of the volume just seems to be cleaning up a lot of the "Kaijuu Fighter" storylines prior to the "all wrestling all the time" the series becomes soon. With Suguru finally seeming like a real hero to the Japanese, the Defense Corp cleaning up all the Kaijuu and the introduction of Bibinba to take away Suguru's skirt-chasing (not to mention Suguru becoming broke just before winning the money prize of the second Choujin Olympics), it really does feel like Yudetamago wanted to close the book on Suguru's monster-fighting days with a short section between America and The Big Fight.

I was more referring to Ramen's development in all of the chapters that Toriyama's World skipped. He's already reformed by the chatpers they did, so he always just came off as being a boring Chinese guy. Seeing that he's a sympathetic character who lacks self-restraint makes him a much more rounded character.

I've always considered the first five chapters of volume 7 to all be one mini-arc, so it's always bugged the heck out of me when TW decided to randomly do two chapters from the middle without showing Bibinba settling into Earth life. The turkey chapter was just silly Christmas stuff, probably due to the America arc ending so close to the holidays in Jump. Yudetamago really didn't want to start something new so they just did something silly then which introduced the Defense Corp who eventually take away Suguru's former job in fighting Kaijuu and ended up with dinner. Of course the ones after that are all setting up Bibinba's character...as for the game show chapter, I think that's mostly about Suguru reaching literally the nadir of his Kaijuu hunting career. The corp and Bibinba clean up what he used to do much more efficiently, he can't make a living off it anymore and the game-show bit was a last chance to make money prior to "The Big Fight". (since the Space arc was more a diversion that gave him something to do until then.) It's all buildup to the second Choujin Olympics obviously but I didn't mind how they did it.

Hey, What's up I got the manga's on Jan 29th in the mail and I been learning Kanji since there's isn't any Furigana by the Kanji On the Re-Prints. They took away the Furigana and just left it Kanji and Kana cause I suppose that they think "Older Kids" would read the Re-Prints. So far I been doing really good in translating thats why I'm not around as much cause im dedicating my time to this. It's not really hard but it's a pain to have to learn Kanji when I was working by Kana. But not only that but there's 2 different meanings with both Kana and Kanji.

Like for example in Volume One's Chapters in the "Throne Arc"...

Chapter 01, says this in Kanji "The Fated Children!!" and in Kana it says "Children of Destiny!!"
Chapter 02, says this in Kanji "Catastrophe of the Coronation!!" and in Kana it says "Coronation of Disaster!!"
Chapter 03, says this in Kanji "Kinnikuman's Dissapointed!!" and in Kana it says this "Kinnikuman's Despair!!"
Chapter 04, says this in Kanji "Pick the Battle Site's at the Castle!! and in Kana it says "Don't Let them in the Castle!!"
Chapter 05, says this in Kanji "Decisive Battle! 5 to 2!!" and in Kana it says "New Blood! 5 Level 2!!"
Chapter 06, says this in Kanji "Hawkman's Bird!!" and in Kana it says "Hawk's Man to Man!!"

So it's a bit harder for me I wished I can storm through chapters like he does but I can't the only reason I went so fast was cause this was transcribed for me in only Kana and I understand Kana in full. Since now I'm learning Kanji I'd say for self taught I'm doing very well but its gonna take me longer to do chapters. But not only that but even in Kanji and Kana the sentences are all broken English still and half the time they barely make any sense. I'm literally busting my ass doing these translations so bear with me if it takes me longer than expected unless someone knows how to transcribe the Furigana in them and sends me the document and I do it like that, If not I'm gonna continue to work off of the Kanji and Kana...

You wouldn't think I'm that skilled considering some of the methods I use to translate. I mostly seem to speed through it more out of boredom where I am than actually being the best translator in the world. (which I know I'm not)

BTW: here are my translations (based on the original scans) of the first volume of the Throne arc (I did a full series chapter guide mostly both as a guide to figure out what to do...and out of boredom):

Meanwhile, I read the "Big Fight" arc already done by TW mostly so I can have my mind a bit closer to the Golden Mask when I start it (and cause I'm planning on doing that "recap chapter" of the two Choujin Olympics at the end of vol. 9). Some really strange but good stuff and somehow much further enhanced with the earlier stories now translated (such as Ramenman's situation...even if I really didn't like his telepathy with Suguru during the final fight with Warsman). Probably my only complaints about the arc:
1. We start getting "former characters" forced into the BG meaning nothing to the plot or story anymore at this point.
2. Somehow I wish we had some of the other proposed characters in the final 12...Tileman and Jawsman had more potential than...Teapackman? (though at least King Cobra is suddenly cool to me thanks to being so similar in ability to Mr. 3 from One Piece)

So my translations were pretty good then, It was "Bird-Man:Hawkman" but i didn't see a bird man unless that was a pun referring to Kinnikuman as the "Bird-Man" so I put it as "Hawkman's Bird". I can speed through it but its hard reading the Furigana so I have to match up with the Kanji. Here's the rest of the chapters I did in the Throne Arc which so far I've only done 36 of them. Which is the first 4 Volumes in the "Throne Arc" I labeled them as Volume 01 and Chapters 001-114 so I won't get confused, Ataru let me know what you think, Cause I was working off of Kanji for all of these. I think I did pretty good so far, Doing translations of what their saying though is a pain I'll give you an example of what I mean in the bottom...

I'm basically doing all the chapters first so I can get an Idea of what I'm gonna be translating. It's very hard to understand what I'm reading but since I have the actual manga's I can read the icon's perfectly it's just annoying there isn't any Furigana on these. I sorta feel bad that I won't be able to work on this as fast as I said I was going to. I found out only in the "Original 36" they had Furigana in the 2 Re-Prints which I have the "26 Manga's" and then there's the 18 Manga's final print. They contain no Furigana whatsoever. So I'm literally busting my ass translating these...
