One of the newer tricks I've picked up in photoshop is the hue/saturation adjustment under the image-adjust button. Just by targeting the pic, and then sliding the bar for hue, all the colors change in unison. The new signature stamp I use is a good example: I just slide the hue until the colors in the signature match the background or charachter colors, then drag to where I want it and flatten image. Here is planetman, with the hue moved to -140. Makes the planets on his arms look like chocolate chip cookies

Hey URS, glad you like. The smasher after-images were the first idea for the pic: the pose and style were figured out based on how well they worked w/ the afters, and the bg colors to best accent.
After the Junkman pic was finished (sans background to be added later), I went back in to visit the artist section inside the sales floor. Domingo was in, and his young son helped me convince him to trade a sketch for some muscle figures. 3 charachters for 15 figures that I had duplicates of was an ok deal to me. best of all, the 2 times I've seen him since, he's told me how much his son loves those figures, making up names an stories for all of them. Ahh, the circle of life....

I seem to remember that the main charachter from Domingo's comic, El Gato Negro, Had a luchedore feel to him. Maybe next time I see him, I'll take a mariposa figure with me.

I'm in the process of getting a Wacom tablet to make the switch to digital paintings. Then I'm going to whip up some pics. Thanks Kevin, but when are we gonna see more of your art?

I love how his son made up names & stories for them just like we did. Just goes to show how MUSCLE is timeless, even without Kinnikuman.

On a sidenote, I'm done updating the older pics (pages 1 and 2 on this topic) to bigger size, higher resolution, and edited coloring. the files are bigger, but the quality increase more than makes up for it.
On a sidenote to the sidenote, There are only about 25-30 pages left in the book, with about half already used. By the end of March, this book(and possibly this project) should be done and posted.

Quite possibly the best pro piece in the book, and there have been some real good ones. Be sure to check his stuff out at wildguard.com and Teen Titans Go! for dccomics.com.
The only other artist in my book that I like as much...
Nauck is amazing, I dig his work so much.
big Young Justice Fan, and his characters are just stunning. Big, BIG fan.

look away, kids! Dave Sherrill (who had done the oil man pic) decided that the naked muscle guy with the questionably innapropriate-shaped head was too funny to pass up. turned out great, so enjoy!
Haha! It's Nasty Naked Lester! Probably no one here remembers (except for maybe a few, like Darrin & Nate), but he had his own section on the old MCW site in the 90's. I have the very disturbing picture of him that it led to, but I can't post it because it's not family friendly.

I totally remember Nasty Naked Lester! The MCW was one of the best MUSCLE sites in its day... it's too bad it's not around anymore.

This is one from Wizardworld Texas, from the art section. I'll have to go back through the itinerary, to see what this artist usually draws.
I did the color shading very cartoony on this one: almost looks like an animation cell.

By the way, what other Muscle projects have you been scheming up? I hope they consist of Micro action figures.
And Dang! I just noticed, but it's hard to believe you've been working on this project for a little over 2 years now. Glad you stuck with it!

This new pic is a real doozy. how he pulled the rage and fury from this little guy is beyond me, but maybe it wouldn't have been such a minor character if Yudetemago had seen it this way
Before I started work on this pic, he had all the inks down. I added the color, used black oil paint over the large black fields and some lines that needed heavying (is that even a word?). lasty, I took the tan and brown I'd added for background, and smudged them all squiggly. What I'd originally wanted was all warm colors, with flat red blood sprayback (pick a page from 300, and you get the idea), but didn't have enough variety of the colors nessesary. I really think the sea green works better anyway.
I included a figure reference pic, to show just how far he took the charachter.
