I can translate the manga aspect of Kinnikuman/Spin-Offs, I have no problem with that. However, Having fansubbers back for the Kinnikuman Anime will most likely never happen. That phase of translations is pretty much done for. I know HnG tried to get some guys to work on the Anime but that fell through. So until further notice that doesn't look like a possibility in the future. It seems like a dead project as for now. As for Wimmo, Let's not go there, Thanks.

Man, I can't stand proof-reading scripts. That's what's been keeping the recent chapters from being released.. because I have little patience for doing that, on top of redrawing parts of the scans where the text was over the artwork. XD;

I worked on quite a few in the beginning but it was much easier since the series wasn't uber-detailed and serious back then. Ever since KG stepped down.. uhh... .. I think 3-4?

And I heard about that as well. I can understand them doing that to liscened series in the US but the stuff that's Japan only... =/

Licensed series are a-ok (provided that the companies don't screw up the translation) but series that are unlicensed? How can those companies expect people to know about those series IF THEY CAN'T READ THEM?

Honestly that's the biggest problem I see regarding what's going on. I get they don't want to lose customers and there is a whole situation, but the problem is that there are so many manga in Japan that whatever comes over usually is at the control of whomever is controlling them...and knowing them, they don't want what you or someone else does. Honestly, older series like Kinnikuman really aren't going to be giving Viz money like, say, an umpteenth Naruto release, but at the same time to prevent people from reading Kinnikuman who want to or find an interest in it just works against them as well. I mean I get what these companies want and am willing to work through other means...but at the same time, it's discovery that sort of sparks interest of learning and discovering. (besides, there probably will always be scanslations, the problem was these "depot sites" where thousands of manga can be read at once, alerting the companies way easier)

BTW: are my scripts really that terrifying?

That's my stipulation. I want all of the scripts proofread. It helps with consistency. No one wants to read text that's inconsistent. I'll admit I do a good job on my own but it would help to have someone check my work before it's put out. One a side note, A group's been asking me to comeback to translate this one series I did for only 1 Chapter called "NEET Princess Terrass" Lol. I love that series, The art/Story is hilarious and full of pun's. Anyways, I'm only going to be doing JoJo's and Kinnikuman for the moment. Oh yeah, I was wondering. Would anyone be interested in scanslating something for me? It's called "Oingo Boingo Brothers Adventure" It's from Part 03 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure called "Stardust Crusaders" with Jotaro Kujo as the main character. Anyways, It's a manga special by Hirohiko Araki. I translated it but no one has type-setted it yet. Someone was supposed to do it, That I was formerly working with. But he ended up being an cold-hearted asshole. I also did the other special called "Rohan au Louvre" from Part 04 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure called "The Unbreakable Diamond". That's still hanging in the air, If anyone is interested let me know I have the scans/scripts of both, Since I haven't posted them online yet.

Well, what I've read of them, they're exactly what I'd expect form a translation - Translation of the text. The grammar or sentence structure isn't flawless and were it up to me I wouldn't paste them into speech bubbles unedited, but that's to be expected, in the same way you wouldn't make a dub into subtitles or vice-versa.

Honestly, I think people should just go to the scanslator if they're still into that sort of thing. The website viewers are just massive dumping grounds and will just end up being targeted if they make themselves too obvious.

What.

Do people seriously consider REAL LIFE RESPONSIBILITIES that delay some of the editing a prelude to ceasing activities? Editing the manga images so the words are translated takes a lot of patience to do, and does script editing.

Where the heck would you even hear a rumor like that? Do people have some kind of underground social network to discuss these things? >_>

Contrary to popular belief, "Team Kinniku" has never really been a formal scanlation group by any means. We tried getting organized a few times, but we found it works better if "Team Kinniku" is just an umbrella term for everyone on this board trying to get Kinnikuman scanlated. Since we're not really an organized group, there's nobody who can really say "alright, we're shutting down" (unless Ataru decides he doesn't want his scanlations used anymore).


Everyone's trying their hardest, but I really do sympathize with the readers for having the series suddenly slow down right before the finals. I'm itching to help speed things up, but I'm still as internetless as I was in January (although much less busy).

Once again, I'm sorry. Please bear with it for the time being.

Honestly and for all intensive purposes, heres where the project stands:

-The series is fully translated. If you can't wait, just pull up my scripts and a chapter (whether scanned or a volume you actually own) and read it.
-The project will continue as long as it takes for it to be done.
-Scanslations aren't dependent on the manga reader webpages. For the most part, those things are depots for a ton of manga to be read...and end up massive targets because they just have a ton of content in one place and make themselves obvious with it with how many people leech off them. The scanslations will essentially continue being fan-based unless they get cease-and-desist letters as well since the main target isn't them but the readers themselves...and even if the scanslations ever do end, translating manga will never stop since that's for the most part non-profit-driven and doesn't eat into their wallets.

I got one thing to say as well. Manga translations will be around forever. That's a given. As long as people translate. People can always read them to the scans instead of "editing". I personally just read translations to the actual books in hand. Or scans if I sometimes have them here or there. However, People who keep spreading rumors and keep talking about crews. They will get C&D orders. Theoretically this has all happened because some fool said "Thank you for releasing this chapter early Kubo-san!!!" If that fool never said a thing. Manga scanlations would still be in effect and everything around what we do non-profitably would have still been around. As far as Team Kinniku goes, In other "peoples" eyes they will look at Team Kinniku as a release group. After all the name "Team Kinniku" does sound like a Team of people regardless of people's views on them or not.

Furthermore, If you keep spreading rumors and attracting attention to yourselves. You will without a shadow of a doubt destroy that groups site like every other site that has been destroyed already. So I suggest to you guys who keep talking about rumors about this or that to seriously shut your mouth. If you don't have anything intelligent to say that pretends to "enjoying a manga series" like everyone else does don't say anything. As far as Aniki and myself. We will continue to do our thing.

Regardless, it's a very good thing that there's a vague conception of a "team kinniku" with arguably weak connection to the people behind the things. It makes it much harder for any theoretical C&D:s, lawsuits etc to reach through.
