This is basically what I see in a normal Pokemon episode:

They travel, they get lost, bee-eye-itching ensues, Brock gets horny, Ash helps some one-shot character, battle ensues, Team Rocket appears to save an otherwise crappy episode but still fail, they BLAST OFF AGAIN!!11 and it repeats...again, for another hundred episodes.

It's so easy to mock. For a shameless plug, everyone should watch Megami33's Sailor Moon Abridged. It's the only good Sailor Moon abridged series on Youtube. And then go watch Team Four Star's DBZ Abridged. If someone plans to make a UM Abridged, I would help out with writing jokes if needed.

Haha, I don't think UM needs an abridged series since they kind of make fun of things as they go along. You just have to pay close attention. ;]

As far as the Pokemon anime goes... The current writers, or at the very least, the last ones assuming they were replaced, are incompetent. They have this massive stockpile of old, memorable characters, yet never bring them back with af ew sexceptions like Duplica/Imitae and certain rivals.

Even when Ash and co. were back in the Kanto region which was the area in the first series, NONE of the old characters reappeared. Remember really old characters like Giselele - The bee-eye-itch from that Pokemon academy? Bruno the Tamer with his awsomly powerful Sandshrew? Melvin The Magician? There are all these effing memorable characters and not a single one of them appeared during that revisit to Kanto. They even went into cities that had gyms that Ash had won badges from and yet the writers couldnt even think to have him revisit them for one episode. There were so many things they could do with the gym leaders alone that it was staggering. There were TWO manga's and each of them had storylines for the gym leaders. Int eh fanservice manga Sabrina was being haunted by a psychotic Haunter and it's brood of Ghastlies, which when she tried to fight it, knocked her into a coma and everyone had to try and defeat this super Haunter. In the main Pokemon Manga, Sabrina, Lt. Surge and Koga became members of team rocket but were turned good again after they were defeated by The Elite Four and Giovani disbanded. Later Team Rocket reformed as Neo Team Rocket lead by the evil Mask of Ice who even goes on to catch legendary Pokemon as part of his mad plan. Ash has even yet to go back and try again in ANY of the league's he is elligable for. What IS the deal with that?! God... i know Pokemon is a kids show, but cmon, you dont have to have some random garbage filler adventure EVERY episode even if it is a kids show.

@Proteus: What you gotta understand about the original Kanto series is they expected it to be very short. They didn't expect the anime's popularity to be so insane that it would still be going on 500 episodes later, they were going to settle everything in that first series alone.

Hee hee, I'm bad. Yet ironically, harping on Yude is considering trolling yet my b*tching towards Viz and Toei doesn't receive any flak. The wonkiness is what makes it charming. At least, the first series anyway. I didn't mind the slight realistic change they made during the mid-90s, but now all the fem-characters have torpedo boobs and some of the male characters look, well, giant. It bothers me. Even the bad art days that both Kinnikuman and Nisei had in the anime versions looked, well, normal.



I was going to make a rant about when trolling gets bad and why I post the way I post, but I'm not in the mood. I think Knuxie best described me. I'm not as bad as what trollers can really do though. I've seen worse, they've seen worse. Opinions aren't always meant to be nice and coated with sugar, because then this thread would get boring.
