i was looking over some of my still carded figs, yes i haven't cracked them yet. i bought so much at once and have been so busy i haven't had a chance to play with them yet. anyway, i was looking at the iron man 001 packaging. i was amused to see that on the back of the card at the top above the "001" it says: "begin transmission..." this is the only one of my carded figs that say this, and i'm willing to assume that none of the others say it. just kind of a cool intangible to the series.
i also can't believe that i hadn't added to my list of must haves a hulk buster iron man. with all these hulks running around this place, someone will have to keep them in line.

I win!!!

Went back to the Target i just hit a couple days ago, and these were finally out. They had two of each except Wolverine/Torch, which only had 1. Odd, because that one's supposed to be 3 to a case with the others 2 to a case, right?
I'm glad there were extras though, because some of them actually had some pretty serious paint issues. And a few of the figures i did end up with, although the paint is good, are going to need some legs boiled. They're pretty hastily stuffed into the packages, so there are a couple serious warping issues. Nothing i can't fix though, and i was glad to find 'em all in one shot.

And as for case assortment Scum, there are a few different types. Chances are Target had 2 or 3 cases and put them all out at once. As these are I think 3-2-2 per pack per case. They switched it around a bit with distribution. Hasbro is severly hit and miss with case assortments though. Only one of my Wal-marts in the whole world over here has had the Star Wars Comic packs Amanaman 2 packs in stock, and they had well over 12 of them, where as no other store I've been to has had even 1. But that's just an example.

Spider-Man was missing some blue paint on one leg that i couldn't really see due to the packaging. I am torn over whether to bother fixing it or just be content that i'll probably end up with one of the other thousand red and blue Spidey figures in this line.
Captain America doesn't have the elastic bands on his shield anymore...the square holes for it are there but i imagine they were cut to save money. I'll probably just make my own, i think those elastic strips are pretty cheap.
Every single comic was severely creased due to the way they were packaged, but that's not too big of a deal.

that kind of sucks that the packaging is responsible for warping the figures. let's hope the ones you got are the exception and not the rule. i can't believe companies still haven't figured out how not to ruin their products before they hit the consumers hands. as far as comic creasing, i don't really think these are going to be as collectible as the original run. i'd say just be glad you've got a cracking good read for on the throne.

i think you'll definitely have another shot at a blue and red spidey. if you look at any other line for marvel you'd quickly see that he makes up 50% of all figures in any line regardless. they could have an "absolutely no spiderman figures" line and he'd still make up at least 50% of all the figures. it's almost like he defies the laws of the universe.

Oh yeah, these comics are definitely for reading. I've already gone through the first issue. I'll probably be picking up the new Secret Wars omnibus they're putting out anyway, so when all these 2-packs are out i'll probably end up giving all the single issues to my nephew or something.
As for the condition of the figures, they're not horrible..just not quite up to the standards i've seen in the single-packs. These ones just seemed like they were awkwardly stuffed into the blisters...and like i said, it's nothing i can't fix. I've seen MUCH worse QC issues on $12 DCUC figures.
I'm definitely excited to have found them so quickly. Much to my surprise i think Thunderball is my favorite out of this wave. He's gigantic, and the colors on him are great. Looks like he popped right out of the comic.

you back east guys seem to get the best stuph first. i'd move but my wife might wonder what happened to me.
Just set up a complex dummy/tape recorder system a la Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and move out here already. She'll be none the wiser.

Those packs look cool, other than no straps, how awesome is the Cap?
Pretty awesome. Other than the head and the straps i'm pretty sure he's the same as the ultimate Cap, but those little wings make all the difference for me.

nice little preview for secret wars. good detecting there urs.
Not me, some other guy found them on another board a few days ago. I just kept forgetting to post the link.
I did the same thing, meant to post it a few days ago.

What are there now, only like three unnamed spots for this line?

since they did a stan lee figure before, do you think they'll do one for universe? since they're not afraid of doing 2-packs, how about a stan lee - jack kirby set.
EDIT: as expected, the scalpers are starting to hit ebay with secret wars. what's the price for a set?
Retail? Mine were $12.99 a pack at Target. If you wanna be sure you could also pre-order them for $14.99 a set at TRU's website. That's probably the safest way to go, and what i was planning to do before i found 'em.

But my advice....buy these in person, or from auctions that show the actual item. Cause there are quite a few crosseyed Thunderballs and melty looking Klaws out there.

MAN I want that Hulk/Cyclops pack.
