Do you think this Ghost could be also good to purpose for the OMFG!-Line?
It's in scale with M.U.S.C.L.E. figs

Let me know what you think

My artist buddy that gave it to me said the same thing. He said the U's vs. the C's (or was it the other way?) would give me a little bit better idea because they glossy. I actually spent 40 minutes talking to him about some ideas and he pushed me in totally different directions. It was really cool to sit down, actually look at stuff, and talk about this stuff. I wish I could invite everyone over to do the same thing.Yeah you have to have a really new PMS book... and then again it's plastic versus paper sooo....

That's crazy! How are people gonna vote? The only way I can see it going well is if we get over 200 people to vote. It will definitely be interesting.

It would be pretty cool if one of the winning designs came from someone here on LRG! So far my favorite is the idea Soupie came up with for the Muscle Garbage can dude.
That would be great! Who all from here has entered?

With so many entries you would think they would do a top 10 between series so that the top 5 would get series 2, and the next 5 would get series 3. Then it wouldn't be such an extreme process to go through with each single set of figures.

At this point, Little George has made it pretty clear that he considers this to be the "idea" phase for series two. Series one is not even funded yet. Yes, the pledges are all in, but the pledges haven't be collected yet. Someone at OT with Kickstarter experience said that they have found that 10% of the pledges never come in.

Like I said at OT: I'd settle for a MUSCLE-scale replica of the MUSCLE can sculpted and cast in all 8 MUSCLE colors. I think a sculpt like that would be a must for most every MUSCLE collector's collection. (I'd love a MUSCLE-scale keshi 4-pack too!)

Not in good taste.

The OMFG packaging (color and packaging design), acronym type name, size, scale and flesh color of the OMFG figures are all a HUGE nod/homage to M.U.S.C.L.E..
To copy something in idea and spirit and then say that the original inspiration has no part of the new series is a laugh.

An homage is one thing. But if you want to preserve the original spirit and the inspiration that this project gives all of us toyheads, please don't make this M.U.S.C.L.E. v. 2.0
What is that supposed to mean?

First, huge props to the peeps at October Toys for doing OMFG! They are seriously a great bunch of uber creative people, and I cannot say enough nice things about them, their board, or their toys.
I have never once looked at this project as the next M.U.S.C.L.E. or M.U.S.C.L.E. part duex. Yes it is the first OMFG, but don't pretend it could exist in its current form without M.U.S.C.L.E..
The inspiration from M.U.S.C.L.E. is so tightly intertwined into the very DNA of OMFG that there is no way you can say with a straight face that it "needs to be completely autonomous"
It is already way too late for that!

How are you overlooking the name style, M.U.S.C.L.E. blue 4-pack style packaging, M.U.S.C.L.E. figure scale, size and flesh color? Too late to separate it at this point!
October Toys has made a very conscious and vocalized nod to M.U.S.C.L.E.. To pretend like it is not already at the core of the line along with MIMP is complete and utter wackiness.
The idea of a fan created series is not new either. A healthy portion of the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures are fan submitted designs. Yudetamago held regular recruiting sessions for fans all over Japan to draw and submit their own figures in hopes that they would be made into little flesh colored figures and make it into the comic.
This does not mean that OMFG is not completely awesome. Not at all. It is amazing and exciting for the LRG community.
It does mean however that the complete autonomy you call for with OMFG is not possible. If you want a different series, then make one that is actually completely different...

Well, seeing as Little George is the "unofficial" project cooridinator and it was his idea to make a MUSCLE garbage can muscle guy, I don't think "cross-referencing" other toy lines would be considered bad taste. An homage is one thing. But if you want to preserve the original spirit and the inspiration that this project gives all of us toyheads, please don't make this M.U.S.C.L.E. v. 2.0
Also, theres no guarentee that Little George or anyone will do anything with the MUSCLE garbage can concept. Maybe all it will ever be is an idea.
As far anyone turning OMFG! into MUSCLE 2.0, from what I gather, people submit ideas, sketches, and sculpts, and members of October Toys forum vote on the ones the like. Perhaps theres a few individuals with more say than otheres, I dont know. However, it seems like OMFG! will be whatever the majority of OT toy enthusiasts want it to be.

Haha, yeah, the concept of taking pretty much any thing one can imagine and turing it into a character with arms and legs and eventually a minifig was essentially pioneered by MUSCLE/Kinnikuman.I have never once looked at this project as the next M.U.S.C.L.E. or M.U.S.C.L.E. part duex. Yes it is the first OMFG, but don't pretend it could exist in its current form without M.U.S.C.L.E.
In that sense, since thats pretty much what OMFG! Is, its already Kinnikuman 2.0

Obviously, I see the similarities. To both M.U.S.C.L.E. and MIMP. It's nostalgic and reminiscent of the figures we all love, and that was not only a conscious nod...but a terrific marketing idea. The same can be said for the fan submissions. I mean, what a wonderful way to get everyone involved in the realization of a dream: fantastic, original concepts put together by some of the very guys we talk to, trade with, and admire. The guys at October Toys are to be highly praised.First, huge props to the peeps at October Toys for doing OMFG! They are seriously a great bunch of uber creative people, and I cannot say enough nice things about them, their board, or their toys.

It's funny you mentioned Yudetamago and the fans that submitted the ideas that became many of the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. All of those fan-submitted ideas were original, not heavily plagiarizing other popularly collected toylines of their time. Do you see the point I'm trying to make?
October Toys supports dozens of independent toy projects, and maybe if I'm determined enough, they'll support one of mine, as well.

Would you argue that the ZOMBIE project also borrows heavily from the same inspirations? How about the Glyos system figures? The Four Horsemen toys? Where do you draw the line between 'influenced by' and 'an obvious homage to' and a cheapening rip-off?
I believe by including obvious M.U.S.C.L.E. character references or including MUSCLE in the name of the figure, that that line will be crossed. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way...
