It's not Metallic Blue and it's not Purple either. I put him next to the other colors:

So, has anybody else seen this color?

That color is definitely not documented at the Greek Beast Archive.

My guess would be that it's been dyed. It's got a much more flat/matte finish to it then the other Greek beasts and a Greek figure of that color has never been seen before and they have been pretty extensively documented.

I don't think it's been dyed. He doesn't show any paintwear.

But then again i could be wrong. Is there anything i can do, to make sure, without damage the figure?

I took some more pictures of him.

The arm joints and the inside of the arm ''pocket'':

He also has some playwear on the fins, so the inside plastic actually shows:

What do you think of him?

Hmm, I don't know enough about dye jobs to know if the color would soak through the outermost layer but it's definitely an interesting figure regardless!

I don't really think it looks dyed either. I've attached a pictured of a greek i recieved awhile back and the seller told me that the blue was dyed. I've tried everything from soap to lighter fluid and nothing has removed any of the blue. Is it possible its from a different country?

It feels like it weights the same as the light blue and silver sharks that i have. I have an electronic scale somewhere. I'll search it and take an accurate measurement.

It doesn't feel either hollow or light. It's body is very stiff. The size is exactly the same, as well.

I don't think it's a bootleg. The details and the trademarks, are all there.

It was in this big lot --> http://www.littlerub...showtopic=31385

I just noticed that the light blue shark, also have that ''hole'' in it's back. It's not actually a hole, it's more like a small cavity.

Could just be a factory error that accidentally got through quality control checks.

Well, after almost 2 months (!!!) i managed to find that electronic scales and did some weight measurements.

Here goes:

The normal (US Version) Shark weights 19 grams

A metallic blue Shark weights roughly 17 grams

A silver one weights 16 grams

and this strange colored one, weights 17 grams

It just made me thinking more, mostly because i didn't came across this kind of color in any of the Exogini figures from that big lot, either.

One possibility i think of, is that at some point El Greco (or someone in the production line!) got hold of this color or was experimenting and produced a very limited amount of figures but for whatever reason they discontinued it.

I found another strange colored figure. It's a Swiney Boar with Elephant's arms. It looks translucent brown.

Check it out:

Here's in comparison to a normal brown one:

It has the original trademarks:

And here's a photo against the light:

I think that this one is a factory error that slipped out. It's much more stiff that others. The plastic is very hard and one of it's legs looks swallen at the bottom, that causes it to stand tilted.

I like this color a lot, though.

Does it have proper arms? The swallen bit on the leg?

Interesting. So there must be a whole lot of these guys that came out of the factory.

I wonder what else is there, to be discovered, out there.

I don't know but I do know of a 3rd boar with elephant arms the same, strange that it only seems to be the one figure so far, wonder if they were all made in the same day with an off plastic batch

I have one of these translucent boars as well. It is exactly the same as these. It must have been a weird batch.
