Ok, some of you guys have been asking for a Bad Ebay Users thread. Well here it is. Here are some Guide Lines to follow.

1. DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD IF THE E-BAY MEMBER IS ON THIS BOARD. "That is what the Members Feedback is for. If you don't know they are am member check the offical Ebay/Members List."
2. PM ME THE NAME OF THE E-BAYER AND I WILL ADD IT TO THE LIST IN THIS POST
3. LEAVE INFO ON YOUR EXPERIENCE SO THAT EVERYONE CAN SEE WHAT HAPPEND AND MAKE AN INFORMED DESISION ON IF THEY WANT TO DEAL WITH THAT PERSON.
4. IF A FLAME WAR ARISES IN THIS THREAD IT WILL BE REMOVED TO THE JUNK YARD TO KEEP THIS THREAD CLEAN.

Here is an example on how you might want to post your transaction.

item # 140211774434

What went wrong:

Bought over 400 colored muscles from me at a price of $232. He lives in Canada and first of all complained shipping was too high, so I refunded the difference ($1.20). Then, he files a complaint with Paypal for non-receipt. He would not respond to any emails to resolve the problem. I had the customs form that had a trackable number showing that it was delivered. I did not have access to those funds through Paypal for 30 days, but eventually won the case and got my funds returned. He has 43 feedback, but steer clear and cancel bids! He was just trying to get a high priced item for free. He has a bunch of other negative feedback, which I should have believed.

Ok so, my deal is that I spent 20 euros, nearly $30, on a MIMP sealed pack from ebay user dani81f from Italy. So, I paid over a month ago and it still hasnt come. A week after I won that auction, I wont another Italian auction and its already come so I dont think it is just taking a long time. So, I go to "my ebay" page and click on the auction link so that I can "contact the seller" and let them know that my item still hasnt come. And when I try to click the link it says my listing "has been removed and is no longer available. If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay."

So I'm like, WTF mates? So I click on the users name to go to their profile to message them from there and it says that they are no longer a registered user.

So. Did I get scammed? Is there anything I can do to get my money back. I did pay with paypal. What should my next step be? I have the users personal email because they contacted me outside of ebay once to see if I wanted to buy some other figures (which I promptly ignored). Should I email this person outside of ebay and ask whats up, or should I just try to get my cash back through ebay?

Thanks guys.

Unfortunately it sounds like you did. Chances are this guy probably did the same thing to who knows how many other people, and then skipped town. I would both contact him through his email (though I doubt this will resolve anything) and file claims with eBay and Paypal. First just give him a friendly letter, just to make sure there's not some misunderstanding. You never want to be a jackass right off the bat. Then if he avoids you and no package turns up, I think it's time to make a claim. Give him a fair chance first though. I hope your problem gets resolved :unknw:

If you paid with PayPal, you should still be able to file a claim despite the disappearance of the auction on eBay. Just check your history, get the transaction number, and file a claim ASAP.

Well, I filed my claim today. Here is my message:

Hello Dani81f,
I was writing this because I have yet to receive my Italian MIMP single pack in the mail. I tried to contact you directly through eBay but alas it said that you were no longer a registered user. I also thought of contacting you through your personal email but I dont want to do any kind of business outside of eBay and violate their policies. I know it takes a while for packages to cross international borders but its been over a month now and I have recieved other various packages from Italy since then that had been purchased after the date that I purchased my item from you. Therefore I feel it has had sufficiant time to make the journey from Italy to the U.S. I know we have done business together before when you purchased my MIMP Board Game, and I felt that that transaction went smoothly and I'm sure we can have this resolved easly. I would be willing to accept a substitute Italian MIMP single pack in replacement for the missing one, or a full refund of my payment. Please keep me informed on your decision. Thanks!

We'll see where this goes. I mean, I wouldnt even care so much if was only for a few bucks, but this is 20 Euros which is like $30, and thats to much to just let go.

WHAT WHEN WRONG: This is the auction for the digial scans of the "KINNIKUMAN M.U.S.C.L.E. Jap kinkeshi Full Catalog", First off the auction i was already bidding on got jacked by Ebay so then the guy sells them to me directly with Paypal. No big deal right, Well after its all said and dont the images were not clear and even parts of the page were cut off (as stated by other members in post). So i simply asked this guy over several emails to just send better scans because you cannot see any detail of the images. Yes you can see them but they are not clear. Well he really does not care and refuses to send better scans of this. I know its over a few dollars but its the principal. He advised he reads this site and eveyone loved the scans i posted up but honestly they suck balls.... Members were just being nice for me sharing them so no one else had to buy them. So Mr. KHAN WAI HUNG your a douche (as other members say) and i hope your cheap ass scanner causes your computer to catch fire.

PeteSmithArcher is the person I had troubles with. I don't have the item number anymore.

I bought a lot of mimp items from him, it was a 'choose 30 figures out of the ones listed' kind of thing. I chose a bunch of dinosaurs, aliens, a few super scaries and a few series 2 figures. I sent him my list, he confirmed the list, and apparently sent them off.

After about a month I contacted him again, asking where on earth they were. After a while he responded with 'oh, well, they should be there by now. Wait a little longer and I'll go down to the post office and file for a missing parcel'.

I waited until the perscribed date and emailed him again 'they're still not here, can you file for missing parcel please'. Took about 3 or 4 emails over a week or so to get him to respond, he said 'oh, sorry, I didn't realise you sent me an email.'. I don't quite get how he missed my emails unless he had ebay related emails set to junk or something.

Anyway, he told me he was going down to the post office to file the missing parcel complaint, and that was the last I heard from him. Whilst I was waiting for his post office adventures to come to fruition I forgot to open an ebay dispute just in case. Whoops. Oh well.

Some time later a package arrived containing 30 assorted mimp, mostly series 1, a couple series 2 and 2 sports stars with no note. The return address was attributed to 'Peter Sumt'. The figures were in terrible condition, some with bits chewed off, some with splits in their limbs, and all generally very dirty. Only one of the figures was one I asked for, and it was in the wrong colour.

After LRG member Malosavich identified the return address as belonging to petesmitharcher, I sent a few more emails to Pete to find out what on earth happened. He wasn't responding, so I went through his feedback to see if anyone was missing a parcel... and I discovered almost all the figures I had asked for (correct colours and everything) except the aliens had been sold in auctions after my auction had ended, and those could have been in an auction over 90 days old. This may be coincidence, but I think that he sent me someone else's package, noticed my package wasn't the right one for the other person, fixed the mistake somehow and returned my package to his collection to be resold later.

So now I have 29 useless figures, one stained figure I don't mind having, and this guy still hasn't responded. I know Malosavich had good experiences with this guy, but obviously my experience was pretty bad. Don't know if you want to add him to the bad ebayers list based on this, but at least put him on a 'caution' list or something.

I too would put petesmitharcher on a caution list or something like that.

I bought a lot of mini boglins from him including some of the rarer figures (a slime boglin among others). When they arrived they were all very dirty and most of them have massive black marker/pen marks on the bottom that would not come off. Luckily the slime boglin (what I really wanted the lot for) was not damaged. He didn't disclose any of the damage in the auction and the picture wasn't clear enough to make it out.

Overall I was still satisfied with the transaction but I thought I would share for the benefit of my fellow LRGers. At the very least I would ask for better pictures or a more detailed decription of any items I bid on from him.

Ebay ID: Zhangmuya/ Shangralaking
Real Name: Jun Zhang
What Happened:

My first encounter with this dilbert I had sold a clear carp set to him. A few days after receiving payment his ebay account shangralaking is removed from ebay and he is no longer a registered user. After checking his less than 10 feedback I notice there is about 7 of the 10 that are negative. Fortunately for me I sent Fedex International and they require signature upon delivery. But bottom line the negatives were stating that he was ripping people off and claiming he was not receiving the items.

My next encounter he had bought a Buy It Now King Buster from me. It was at this point, when he sent payment, that I realized the name Jun Zhang was the same person that I sold the clear carp set to. This time he was using the Zhangmuya ebay account which had a substantial amount of positive feedback. For some odd reason I figured since I had dealt with him before it should be ok to send the King Buster without any expensive confirmation from the USPS. Long Story short, I made the mistake of sending the figure with no signature confirmation. He then filed a Paypal claim and got his money back because I could not prove shipment.

Just as a caution: All members should use signature confirmation when shipping International especially to China. For items over $250 Paypal requires signature confirmation to even consider a judgement in the favor of the seller.

Ebay ID: Zycsky
Real Name: Jiang Li

What Happened:

I had a Shield Battler Set on ebay a while back. I had Zycsky make repeated offers on the set. We finally reached a price and the transaction was completed outside of ebay. This time being aware of my last experience from sending an item to China I asked the postal clerk what method would be best if I had to prove shipment. The clerk then sold me on Registered Mail. She gave me this story how the items are kept under a lock and key the entire way up to the point of delivery. All I kept hearing is how safe the Registerd method was. So I sent the item to China via Registered Mail. Long story short, Jiang LI filed a Paypal claim got his/her money back and I am stuck waiting for some stupid investigation from the USPS. As of now I am still waiting to hear were my "safe" package is. After I had complained to the lady that sold me on registered mail about how safe it was, I was told that I should have paid for signature confirmation. But the look on her face when she realized she fuc@#! Up was almost worth the loss.

DO NOT SEND TO CHINA. I have been ripped off twice in three months by Chinese ebay members. Which is weird because everyone keeps telling that the Chinese are an honest people. :yahoo:

where do you think bootleg toys originate, mostly from hong kong/china. i bought chinese dvds that were faulty or crappy. never again. now i understand why many sellers on ebay don't ship internationally and in the united states only. personally if your a seller you should always put delivery confirmation even if the buyer doesn't pay for it, the seller should for both there sake. its like an additional 50 cents or so.

p.s. maybe i shouldn't have posted this comment here, you can delete this if is misplaced.

Unfortunately, International shipping can be really expensive. For example, the clear carp set I shipped to China Fedex would have cost $120 without a 75% discount. Also the USPS is the most unsafe postal method. If anyone read my last post I even paid an extra $10 to have this item delivered the most secure way Registerd Mail(according to the lady at the post office). I tem never made it. I am know waiting on a stupid investigation that takes two months. :)

Monkeyroxy sent complete garbage to me--out of the 500 figures I purchased, only 5 were in reasonable condition. The rest look like the household cat had eaten, pissed on, and then burried.

I got a similar notice this week as well. My case involves a seller whose auction I was set to win, but the seller created a new account, outbid me and relisted before 24 hours passed. I reported him of course. There's no place on ebay for that crap. His account got yanked. I think the wording ebay uses is to scare people out of doing sales for the items these sellers would were auctioning. It may just be scare tactics and not really a sellers account being hacked.

Either way, stay away from crappy sellers.
