Ok I am starting to get really frustrated and here is why. Most of you know I have been collecting Japanese Transformer PVC's and they just came out in the US under the name "Heroes of Cybertron". I have been scouring TRU, Walmart, Big K, Target, KB, and just about ever other place I can think of over the past month and I have NOT been able to find even a shred of info on the !&##&@? things. I live in Southern Cali, why can't I find them, and please, please, tell me WHY this person is trying to sell Starscream at this price, and WHY are people bidding on this!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/...item=1750303694

The hot topic of toy scalping comes to mind... These should be no more than 4 dollars at a store near you, but apparently not at a store near me  They seem to be popping up in droves everywhere else in the US and on ebay as well and it's really starting to piss me off. Why can everyone else find these except me??? Please help me guys.... for a fellow toy collector, thanks

He is probably in CA too and doesn't want to wait for them to get here. Have patience RubzOne. They'll get here, and they'll be $4.

Here's a big reason why I am so nuts about this:

When I really want something bad, I love the challenge of not being able to find it, but knowing it is out there. Yes I can just buy them off ebay, but that's the cheap way out and I don't feel that it represents the attitude of a true collector... I could also call around first and find out what store has them, but to me, that defeats the purpose. Waiting is half of the fun and there is nothing better than walking into a place and not knowing whether or not they have what you're looking for, and when you round the corner, there it is... Man, that's the most awesome feeling in the world. I love to tease myself like that, when I walk into a place, I go into the section where I think it might be and SLOWLY look at everything, turning the corners very patiently, looking at everything. It's that feeling of being a kid that comes back, and I have figured out how to replicate it within myself when looking for a certain toy, video game, etc. There is nothing like slowly digging through a bin for a certain figure and you finally find it all the way at the bottom, after a half hour of searching. It's truly satisfying.

Call me crazy but this is just me... don't know if any of you guys go through this same bizarre ritual.

RubzOne:

If your so into the hunt, then I'm inclined to agree with Johnny. Have aptience and you'll find them just sitting there on a shelf, then the surprise of it all will be even better! Good luck!

Toy distrbution seems to start out west in California and work its way east. When it shows up on ebay from a seller in CA, then I know it will be a month or so when I'll find it. That's the way I know a toy is going to be coming out and saves me from endlessly searching the toy stores.

Just so you know, I haven't been able to find these myself either. I'm sure they'll be all over the place soon, so don't give up yet. If anybody finds them, please let the forum know.

PS - Screw scalpers. Thank you. Drive though.

My good deed for the day...

I personally sent all of the bidders on the Heroes of Cybertron PVC's on ebay this message:

"I hope you know this guy is toy scalping, this item goes for 3.99 at Target. Just lookin out for a fellow Transformer fan"

I have no remorse for some bastitch trying to sell a US PVC for 15.99. That guy doesn't deserve to make his money back, I hope he bought 20 of those and nobody buys them. Looks like it's too late, but you can still save a few people

Depends on the item. Sometimes it takes a month or so for a toyline to reach the west coast when it starts on the east coast, i.e. RiD.

I think Johnny is right on this one. Since toyLines like all products are marketed with a specific target audience in mind.. they probally try to sell the largest # of demographics avaliable to them so that they can recoup their investments.

Straight from TFormers.com:

"Thanks to our source at Hasbro, we have word that the USA G1 Reissues are now shipping to Toys R Us stores across the country. We have also been informed by Hasbro that the Heroes of Cybertron (HOC) PVC figures are shipping this week as well. Keep an eye out at your local retailers for them soon! Thanks to Hasbro for providing this timely information. "
