Hey all,

Some of you are familiar with of you are familiar with how I came to the board... and that I have been gradually unloading various toys and Ebay and basically cleaning out my childhood boxes.  However, when it comes to my MUSCLE collection, I just can't seem to pull the band-aid off quickly enough and just sell everything at once (must be the nostalgia or emotional attachment)!  Instead I have been gradually selling a few figures here and there mostly helping folks that send me their want lists.

Well, I was just helping another LRGer complete a full set of MUSCLE figures yesterday... and I literally spent two hours going through my boxes of MUSCLES and I just decided - screw it!!

I'm going to try and complete a FULL FLESH set!

I have so many that I MUST be at least 80% there!  Of course, I'll still sell off the odds and ends and doubles I have, but it will be cool to have a complete set.  Maybe then, I'll just EBay off the full set in one big swoop.  Who knows!?

ANYhow - WISH ME LUCK!!

PF

Oh - and a question... when you guys are trying to complete a set - what method of organization do you typically recommend?  I started by just using a 12 dozen egg box and just kind of putting everything in order... but MAN that's gonna be a lot of eggs.  Suggestions?

My flesh set is complete now, but when I was in the process of getting everything sorted I used a combination of the 'Toy Collector' app (awesome) and the checklist I downloaded from musclefigures.com. My wife also helped me double check things towards the end

I use an Excel spreadsheet with resized pictures of the figures. But I sometimes forget to mark some on and off so I usually physically check to be sure when I am selling things.

When I was completing my color set, I had a printed checklist and would just lay out the figures on the kitchen floor to check them off :)

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Yeah - I'm pretty visual, so I would want to lay them out in order or something not just check them off.  That's why I was using the egg carton at first because they were prefect little cups!

I've completed five close to mint flesh sets, fun but at times I wanted to poke my left eye out with a screw driver! Lol they all start to look the same after two or three hours of sorting them.

Anyways this is the method I found the best:

-I take five large ziplock bags
-lable them 1-50, 51-100,101-150 151-200, 201-236
-buy at least 236 tiny ziplock bags lable all 1-236 and put in the larger bags
-put each figure in a tiny ziplock bag(Wallmart craft section)
-lable each large bag with all the missing figures and cross them off one by one

You will easily be able to keep track of the figures you need to complete your set and it is a lot simpler to deal with bags of 50
Hope this helps.

I also lay them all out, but they are In bags with the number on them.
A word of caution! Don't ever put a figure that is not in a bag with figures that are in bags and labeled with sharpe, the marker will come off of the bags on to the bag less figures like a magnet!!!

I took the checklist mentioned earlier to look them up and have gone old school. Paper and pencil and checked them off one by one. I keep them all in plastic containers that house a couple in each box .

When I was finishing off my flesh set, I had a huge counter/peninsula in the kitchen of the house we had at the time and, with accompanying pictured checklist, I spread out my figures to make sure all 236 were accounted for.  To echo some of the others' sentiments in this thread, I found it rather painstaking and tedious.  My patience for these sorts of tasks tends to wane rapidly.  Anyhow, and needless to say, I'm happy it's done and that I have a full flesh set on hand.  Now, I just have to muster the courage and energy to tackle my bin of colored figures to see if I can complete an assorted set or, if not, how far away I am from doing so.  Sigh.  Years removed from the "flesh endeavor", still not there yet...

In order to see if I had a complete Flesh poster set...I also used the poster.  That worked swell.  So I do have a complete flesh poster set.  But as for rares and such, none to be had.

Also, I have a lot of colored MUSCLE Things.  Doubt I am near a complete poster set with them.  Oh well..
