One of the hobbies my wife and I enjoy is playing board games. Usually Euros which means the bits consist primarily of meeples, cubes, and sometimes discs. Now don't get me wrong... I love my beaver chow! But over the last couple of years there has been an upswing in games having really nice looking keshi-inspired figures and I've found myself tempted to pick up some of these games just because the pieces look sooooo neat.
(...all pix are not mine and ganked from BoardGameGeek.com btw...)
I picked up a Krosmaster: Arena starter set on sale at Barnes & Noble one day. The miniatures are painted and look great (if you don't mind a very chibi-fied style...) and there's no blind boxes on 'em so you can pick up all kinds of booster packs (even though there are a lot of repaints...)
I haven't picked up Super Dungeon Explore but holy crap does this game come with a ton of stuff! Once again the figures look fantastic (which makes sense seeing as how the game was created by Soda Pop Miniatures!)
