Okay, get ready to have your minds blown. The new Fisher-Price Collectible Figures Series 11 includes a blind bag that contains two "M.U.S.C.L.E." figures! Do they look familiar? Unlike more recent M.U.S.C.L.E revivals, these are clearly based on Kinnikuman / Muscle-Man and Buffaloman / Terri-Bull, with enough changes to (I assume) skirt copyright. These figures are larger than traditional MUSCLE figures, at 3 inches. They are unarticulated and rubbery, more like Kinkeshi than the classic Mattel figures. If you come across Imaginext Series 11 in stores, these figures have the code of #55 on the back of the bag. This series also has a figure based on Battle Beasts (#58) and the X-Ray Man from the old Fisher-Price Adventure People.

I assumed that the "X-Ray Man" fig was more an ode to Micronaunts?

Great pics - I may have to run out and pick these up!

I'm certain it's Adventure People, because I have the original toy on which it's based. :-) But the original figure did have a strong Micronauts vibe, and I wouldn't doubt that Time Traveler inspired the Fisher-Price designers of the time.

Series 10 also included an Adventure People character, the astronaut and alien beast.

This packaging alone is cooler than 90% of the Micronauts line.  ;)

Iconic figures, mine were very loved.  I've gotta give it up to FP for giving me this recent X-Ray figure.  In a climate that seems to be steeped in directly (and constantly) suckling from 80s and 90s properties to the point of glut, it's always nice to see some true 70s classics being revisited.

Be very careful with the rubber of the MUSCLE figures. My Muscleman got up against another figure wearing a black robe, and now part of the bottom of his foot is dyed purple.

you can't see it unless you pick it up, so it displays fine, but just a word of warning.

Interesting! Thanks for the heads up!

The rubber is highly absorbent, treat them more like Kinkeshi.
