According to Italian toy collectors, these figures came as surprises in bags of chips circa 2000:

I don't know how many there are but after my 4 (baseball, tennis, disc throwing, judo) your boxer and another football player one I've seen, we know that there are at least 6. Hopefully more. And sydots figure doesn't look flesh so variant colors?

Pretty sure I Just sent a baseball one to Dixie earlier this week
Ha! I didn't know what that was when I picked it out...just thought it looked interesting. I'll have to take a close look at it when it arrives to see if it is the same as these. I like em! I imagine they are gumball machine toys. Idk though

A basketball sculpt! so cool. Thanks for the input. Its bits and pieces from everyone that helps solve the mystery.
BTW here's a pic of the football dude found in someone's sale thread from April.

Kind of surprised that MIMP sports stars havnt been mentioned in this thread yet. I mean clearly these aren't those but the style is very similar. I'd seen these before and assumed they were KOs inspired by that line.
I've heard others say that. I have a full set of the sports stars but never felt these were knockoffs. They have too much personality! Even more than the MIMPs I would argue.

Dang. I want it but not all that other crap.

That's a really cool 90s nostalgia lot.
Kind of an aside, but does anyone know how to specifically get these smaller, hard-plastic ninja guys? Used to be obsessed with getting that specific size of them from gumball machines in the 90s, but only ever found them once or twice.
There are other ones that are slightly larger and made of a flexible plastic, but I can tell from this image that this one is the harder variety.
