All I have are my memories of how the toys were displayed in stores back in the day.

and I'd also love to see old print ads (preferably from TRU and dept. store circulars, but catalog scans would be ok too).

Just need a dose of nostalgia today.

You should probably swing by my website. It’s like you are returning to MUSCLE after a 20 year nap.

1) I did.

2) I am.

your website is always my first stop when the beast reawakens. And I did find the ad from the Akron paper, as well as the lineart sheet. It's actually what prompted me to write this post.

Here is an ad from the spring '86 issue of GoBots magazine:

Sweet!

That ad makes me wonder...the copy says 233. So was Satan Cross already pulled from assortments by the time of the Quik promotion? Certainly, nobody has ever found a Quik Satan Cross.

The Quik promotion came fairly early in the run. I am not sure if it predates the finalized version of the poster, which is often cited as the source for 233 being the official number, but it would seem that number had been settled upon by the time they hit the shelves, regardless of the anomalies that followed.

There are over 90 figures Quik figures documented at UofM. I don't believe SC has ever been found in any packaging other than four packs.

He seems to have been an anomaly from the start.
