Rescued these this morning, poor things. At 5p $0.08 each I had to take them home.

I just now need to find out some history behind them. Really freaky looking things.

The only marks are made in Hong kong and sometimes Hong Kong on its own. Some are not marked as far as I can see.

This smells like a job for Sythmantis!

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Thanks for the reply, a few of them have feet and some have suckers. But yep a few have holes, but they just seem part of the process, rather than being specifically desgined for fingers.

Ugly Stickers! I'm disappointed, I thought you guys would be well acquainted with these!

http://www.normansau...m/RUgly,01.html

Well...most are ugly stickers. The robots and a couple others are entirely different weirdos, probably vending machine prizes.

As an encyclopedia of weird, obscure critters, one of these immediately reminded me of a totally wacky "Final Fantasy" enemy, the "Dorky Face" from FF7:
http://www.knightofa...w/DorkyFace.jpg

I always wondered what the hell they were supposed to be...now I wonder even more. Is it some Japan thing?

Scythemantis I bow before your almighty knowledge. Thank you sooo much, I really appreciate learning about these things.

You are more than welcome to one of the Robots pictured above for IDing them for me.

Just PM me a mailing address and i post of one of the robots.

Once again thank you so much mate.

Christian

Yet another obscure line I am going to have to try to complete. There was a lot more there, but they had arms torn off etc...

Cheers

I think I would rather have the sticker collection of these things. Obviously what they said about mind bending drugs during the 60's must be true for these things cannot of come out of a normal persons head?
<_< <_<

The illusrations are very disturbingly cool.

What a great find! I'm especially fond of the cabbage-head looking guy...

Did the Ugly Stickers get bootlegged at all? I swear I had a couple of the ones pictured in the link, but I was born about ten years too late...

I noticed an ice cream tub full of them horrible puppies in my pocket and other girlie non-macho stuff. First things first establish a price! I ask the lady how much was the plastic bits and bobs she said 5p each. Then i start pulling out the uglies. She says oh they used to be mine and my brothers when we was little, she looked old and I thought she was going to say oh those are £1 each, nope still 5p each.

Looking forward to next years bootsales as I only started to collect towards the end of the season.

I love the research part, but these had me stumped.

Here's the pic of my guys.

Not a great picture, but you can see I have that fat guy on the left. Plus these two others. They are all a VERY squishy rubber, but have managed to hold up over the years.

Far from cheap crap. Rubber creatures from that era have a solid following and collectors market, some are worth a very great deal and they're all tough to find!

Bumped for the fella looking for rubber uglies.

Trust me they're pricey when they do come up. Well for my pocket they are.
