No, you're right; they'd cost much more than that. But I wouldn't pay 10¢ to get these out of a vending machine.

Do the words licensed characters mean anything to you? That's generally the appeal.I could see the appeal if these were characters from the entire DC universe, but honestly I don't get why people are so excited. The appeal of MUSCLE was the amount of crazy characters, variations and different poses. There just aren't that many characters in Teen Titans. And those super-deformed poses are TERRIBLE. Do they actually do that in the cartoon? I'm glad I've never seen it. Just the very idea of turning everything into a Japanese fad is making me ill. Soon everything will be like Pokémon and Beyblades. You want to encourage that? Go right ahead. But I wouldn't pay 10¢ to get these out of a vending machine.
From your post, I can tell you are still bitter over BanDai's handelling of the UM line.
the fact of the matter is, these ARE made for kids, and Bandai has been doing minifigures for years. I don't think that buying these is supporting "Japanese fad cartoons" at all. It was the series developers who decided to make it Japanese inspired, and I feel that it makes the series a little more unique than just doing an umpteenth Super Hero TV show.
And comparing them with Muscles.... I donot see that at all. Even still... the shocking fact i8s MUSCLES and UM aren't that popular. Even during it's prime MUSCLES were pretty much a counter culture movment. Seems Galoob did better by stealing their idea and making Monsters in my Pocket.
I do not see how this show is "Turning everything into Pokemon and Beyblade" That would be stuff like YuGiOH and Duelmasters.

Only thing I'm a little upset with is the girls molds, I can live with it but like a little more like their show selves (know that could be hard to do)
Though even though I watch this show I am still in a dark on a few things, reason hunting down the old comics to help. (I just wonder why Slade isn't called his name in the comics, Deathstroke the Terminator, they could do a joke with the Term part easy)
And yes the Happy Raven is creepy, though I think I recall seeing a SD moment where she does have a grin, thinks it's during the Mad Mod ep.
And on not enough characters, c'mon they could do a set of random green animals for all I care in this for Beast Boy molds.

BTW, I bought them at TRU and I don't think they were on clearance... unless 5.99 is clearance price.

It was the episode in which Beast Boy and Cyborg whent into her head via the mirror... Robin pats Ravens back and asks, "Are you okay?" and all of the sudden she bursts laughter for 2 seconds, as they found her long missing "Happiness zone"And yes the Happy Raven is creepy, though I think I recall seeing a SD moment where she does have a grin, thinks it's during the Mad Mod ep.
And on not enough characters, c'mon they could do a set of random green animals for all I care in this for Beast Boy molds.
OOH Good TRU has them in your area. Well... I guess in 12 more months they'll be in MA!
Not enough characters is right. I hope these do well, so we'll see more!

That is a damn good idea, I'll do just that. Everyone who buys these should do the same.I found them in my area, was a little bit stunned too, now I will say this, pick this up an OPEN THEM, why there's a questionnaire inside and well for my comments I simple put "BRING BACK ULTIMATE MUSCLE!!!"
