I've still got a week before I move, and a fair amount of time. I need to polish up 4/5 customs that I have made, but all but one are almost done. As a result, I am considering trying to quickly make a gorilla laser beast. I think if I just cut off Sailon's head and put on a gorilla's it would actually look pretty good. My concern is getting paint on the orb. For starters I like to spray paint the whole thing before I start. Even if I didn't do that, I'd still have to deal with the constant worry of getting a little paint on the orb. Is it possible to take the orb out and then put it back in? If not does anyone else have any other suggestions? Thanks.

That is an easy one...

I have removed probably close to 100+ common LB orbs to insert into my customs... :D I KNOW...SICK... :D

ANyway, simply heat them up ULTRA HOT w/ a hair dryer then insert a small wooden dowel 1" long into the back hole...then push the LB down on the dowel in the carpet...popping out the orb. They come out a little harder than when you reinsert them, due to the original paint sticking to the sides of the orb can from the factory.

Good Luck!

Yes there is a way to take the orb out! If you heat up the fig really warm with a blow drier and when he gets really soft take a wooden dowel (or something of the equivalent) and put it in the backside of the fig where the orb is and just push it out....you might feel like you are going to break him but you're not. :D

This ishow I have done it, maybe you want to hear how others do it before you try...Steve... :D

Excited to see the finished product, I actually just finished the same guy but used tigerburns body!! I used the gorilla arms to, looks mean as bro!! He is pretty wicked!! :w00t: Definately meant to be a LB in my opinion.

Hope this helps and can't wait to see the finished product!! :D B)

Thanks guys, it worked great! This is the 1st custom I actually took the arms out to do. I am sorried though that since I spray painted to get a good undercoat, some of the pain might thicken up his arm sockets and they won't fit back in. Any ideas?

You could clear out the sockets with a exacto knife. Or widdle his mushrooms on his arms down.

Thanks, when it comes time I'll probably use my exacto knife to cut away the paint. Good call.

Why don't you just tape off the mushroom and stick something in the sockets, like a wooden dowl or something? then shortly after you've painted remove them so you don't end up screwing up the paint. B)

A little prep work will save a lot of hastle overall.
