So I'm asking the community...

If someone refuses to accept payment using goods and services though PayPal, what would you do?

If you offer to pay whatever fees are involved, what would you do then?

Not give them money, that’s for damn sure. If they refuse to accept a G&S payment when you want to pay the fee, that’s shady as hell.

Seconding what Baltan said. Offering to pay the fee is about the only concession any person could reasonably be expected to do, and even that might be against the PP terms. (not sure anymore, I think it used to be)

If they are really being a jerk about it, you could consider reporting them to PP for abusing the Friends & Family rules. I wish more marketplace groups and forums would ban the explicit use of F&F, it has become the accepted practice in way too many places. I don't love giving PP money, but demanding F&F totally strips the buyer of any rights.

Thank you

That's a shady sounding transaction getting ready to transpire if I'm throwing in my opinion as well

All depends if you know them or not. If it's a stranger And they won't let you pay the extra fee, I say pass

If it's a member of this LRG board in good standing, I think paying via friends or family is fine, but if they have little-to-no feedback, I'd steer clear...

Allot of scamming and the turds are catching on with desirable figures. Unless i know them or they have a good reputation I'd 100% stay clear. I've seen way too many people scammed these days. If they do not accept G and S they have something to hide.

If they are someone I have dealt with before and have a relationship with... I'd rather save them the money.  SO I have no issue with friends and family.  However, if it's a new time relationship, then I think you went the right route by offering to pay additional fees.  If they still refuse after you attempting to pay them extra, then I wouldn't mess with it.  To be pragmatic, they may not be trying to do something nefarious... they may just not be trusting you to sabotage things on your end w/ PayPal.  None the less, not worth the risk.

Hey man, I would say if your not 100% content with the transaction then walk away.
You have to protect your hard earned cash as if you dont no one else will.

Sometimes we see these rare/special figures & want them at all costs but that is not rational behaviour.

If in doubt then pull out!

I can almost guarantee that there will be another chance in the future for you to obtain one of these & who knows maybe for a better price but even if not then hey it's not the end of the world.

It's just a hobby collecting & its suppose to be for fun not for greed so my advice would be to pull the plug & dont sweat it.

Of course its inevitably your call in what you do so good luck, lifes all about making decisions....
