I do not care for the new "Battle Beasts" designs that can't seem to even decide what they want to be.
I also laugh to find that to purchase every beast you will also have to pay for a uninspired civilian mini-mate.

They have to pass off the cost of each unique sculpt by selling each with a basic mini-mate.

I don't really want to get involved with this topic, but I was reading it to see what people think. I just wanted to say that the above is incorrect. There is not going to be a basic human minimate for ever beast minimate. There are only two humans scheduled to be released. The two main human characters from the comic book. For series 1, they wanted the specialty store assortment to be comic story accurate. So all the beasts are painted in their more subdued comic colors, and they are including the two main human characters. There are some collectors that will probably be interested in having minimate versions of the human characters to set up and interact with the beast figures. A lot of the minimate collectors really like being able to reenact scenes from comics or movies with these figures. That is something that is part of the appeal of minimates, with their articulation.

For the Toys R Us series 1 release, the colors are going to be a bit brighter and more vibrant, and there will be no humans. Instead, Toys R Us will be getting the Bat and the viking Moose that we saw control art for. So if you look for Battle Beasts at Toys R Us, you'll only see two packs comprised entirely of unique sculpted beasts. There are 8 different beasts that will be separated into 4 different 2 packs.

So, the majority of two packs will be entirely beasts. It seems like only 2 different packs in the specialty store wave 1 will have any basic human minimates. And from what I remember, I believe they said that these would be the only two humans released. Myself, I'm not really too interested in the humans, (I really just want to get beasts) but it will only be for 2 packs, and if I wasn't wanting to be a completist with the line, I could easily just ignore the comic book color schemes and get all the beasts at TRU. That is certainly a lot better than a lot of the other 2 pack small figure lines that I have collected in the past. Man, I don't know how many Spidermans I have from trying to get unique, interesting characters in the superhero squad line... I swear every other pack had a Spiderman...

I think this topic will serve as a good magnet for the mate haters. Better here in a topic that is mate-hate centric, then in a topic that is better suited for those who enjoy the new line. But lhssenior is right. Saying once or twice that you don't like the line is fine and dandy, but to drag it on and on in the other topics is kind of annoying. The horse is dead guys.

If you hate the new line, great beat the horse here. But please don't go spam the other threads about it. Otherwise it just turns into this:

"I hate them, they suck."
"Oh yeah, I like them."
"Yeah, well they suck."
"Look at what they showed at SDCC!"
"Awesome!"
"They suck."
"Huh?"
"Did I mention they suck?"
"eff you, I like them."
"No eff you, they suck."

I'm not a fan of most M.I.M.P.s but I don't go to those threads and tell them how much I hate them. Also, if mate haters bother you so much, then you may want to just avoid this thread altogether.

BTW, this thread is very relevant to this section.

Corrected my statement. It was apparent I did not care enough about them to do my research.

To everyone else enjoy there mates, I will be enjoying my Beast Saga Battle & Laser Beasts.

That's something we both agree on! I am soo incredibly excited for Beast Saga. I will thoroughly enjoy them. I've got most everything preordered so far. And the first batch releases in September, my birth month. It'll be a nice birthday present to myself. Out of the two new lines, Beast Saga is very much in the spirit of the original BB/LB line. But for me, there's room for both in my collection.

Time to board the mate-hate train, woo woooo..

I bought a clear-red Vorin on E-bay about 2 months ago. Since that time my wife and I moved into our first house; things have been pretty busy and hectic and my collecting / hobbying has been scaled back about 99%. As things settle down I'm looking forward to buying a few lots of classic BB, but I have to admit that I have almost 0 interest in the DST line.

When I opened the sealed Vorin I quickly got over the shiny newness of the figure. It's difficult to balance on its feet, has very few poses for all its articulation, and just generally comes across as fragile and awkward. I really wanted to like it, and was excited about the line when I first heard about it, but I'm underwelmed. And then when you have new lines like Beast Saga being launched with pre-orders, fully realized series and figures... I think it would have been best if the "Battle Beast" name remained in Hasbro's hands.

I know! Isn't it great that Beast Saga is being released around the same time as these Minimates called Battle Beasts? It causes me to laugh out loud to think how Beast Saga will only speed up Minimates' failure. hahahahaha!

I felt like I had to complain a little again so I'm glad I've my private Ebay pollution complain topic :)

So..... what the h#ll is going on with these DST Battle Beasts posters showing up on Ebay!?!
It looks like they are releasing a line of posters instead of figures as it looks so far they've spend more time in the designs and amount of posters released than looking into their figs. Or does every figure come with 2 posters in the end?

Posted ImagePosted Image

Although the designs are pretty cool to me a poster is there for promotion purposes but it looks like they are re-designing them over and over again shooting out a new one every week while there seems to be not much news about the figures. Is there any thought behind it or do the posters sell better than the figures!?

....... sometimes its good to complain, I already feel better now LOL

those the the comic covers those that you posted are the covers to the last two. the one on the left is the variant cover so the last 3 issue connect and give you a bad ass battle scene. The comic run was a mini series so issue #4 will be the last you see of it for now.

Yeah, it's a comic miniseries. Issue 4 just came out, and the collected edition should be out in December, I think, along with the first wave of figures. Comic books often have multiple covers, it's just how most comic book companies do things -- luckily, they're also all pretty cool-looking. (The story is pretty damn good, as well.)

We HAVE made posters of issue 1's cover by Dan Brereton and the wraparound variant by Ulises Farinas, and we've given them out at conventions all year. I want to do that Jeff Zornow triptych next.
