^^Wow, nice paint job, that looks awesome. I just barely got my confirmation from BBTS regarding series 1. The tarantula or wolf spider or whatever has been my favorite since these were first unveiled. So I'll definitely be picking up the TRU spider/falcon and would like to pick up 2 of the moose/bat. Hopefully I can still find some.

We didn't "shut out" what BB collectors wanted because, well, we never really sought out their input. Why? Frankly, because it's a small (but dedicated) fan base, and because most of you want figures like the original Battle Beasts, which was the LAST thing we wanted for a variety of reasons.

Then why would you choose to give them the same name?

Here's a quick beast I made from mixing up parts from an extra minimate I had. After I got Kuma from the Street Fighter vs Tekken line, I was bound and determined to make him a minimate. I realize that there's a bit of wear on the armor that needs to be touched up. I was just excited to get him together and working.

Nice custom!

Oh hey, and there's going to be a followup review on nerditis.com tomorrow morning, covering some of the TRU stuff (the two new guys, and some of the repaints).

It's a cool name? It wasn't being used? It had some recognition? The toys were about the same size? We remembered the original line fondly? Take your pick!

Finally got my Series 1 from BBTS. I really like these! The only gripes I have are: one of Strictu's hands is too small to hold a weapon, as is one of Merk's hands. Merk's helmet thing doesn't clip to his head. And I've always thought these would look better if they were in the 4 to 6 inches range. Other than that, no gripes. My Fenruk stands upright just fine. Now I need to find the TRU variety, especially the Moose.

Also, here's to hoping we don't have to wait too long before a Series 2 is revealed.

Just picked up some of the TRU exclusives. I got the Moose/Bat, which is cool. I like the bat a lot more in hand than I did based on seeing him online. The moose is really cool looking but I can't fit any of his weapons in his hands. I also bought the Spidron/Merk pack, because I wanted both of the different colored spiders. In this set Merk can hold weapons in both hands, but he didn't come with any. Also, Spidron's pair of legs that attach to his back were missing. The other TRU sets on the shelf had weapons, but for some reason this one doesn't. I hope any winged creatures in Series 2 have their wings attached at the back and not a part of the arms.

Merk's weapons and Spidrons back arms were both in their own separate tray inside the blister. It sounds like you got a pack that accidentally left out that tray. You should contact customer service about it to get a replacement.

Yeah, that's how the Fenruk/Merk pack was packaged. That's why I was so surprised at the Spidron pack missing parts.

Ok, Zac has some explaining to do. What the hell? Why is every TRU sold out in my neighborhood? So I may have misjudged their popularity, but sold out for weeks? What's the hold up with your product? I don't believe they are SOOO popular that the restocked items are selling out that fast! I check often, maybe twice a week! I bought one pack; I will be sorely disappointed if I can't even complete the first wave.

Sold out in my area too but both TRU near me only got a case each and doesn't look like either ever got a refresh which seems to be the case with any of the non-Marvel minimates they stock, one case then done; at least in my area.

At least they ordered an initial case; I've been watching for these at my local TRU since December and they've still never showed up. I even asked one of the employees once (haha) and he acted like he didn't even know what a Minimate was. Not surprising as they apparently just don't sell here; the same 15 blisters of Marvel minimates have been sitting on the shelves here for months.

Not every TRU store gets in the same quantity of collector lines, Minimates included, and demand varies as well, although not necessarily in the same pattern. Battle Beasts has been selling very well at TRU, which is why we're moving forward with designs for series 2. Good luck tracking them down...
