Sooo, I don't know if they've just sold out online or something, but these guys are finally up on the TRU website. Unfortunately, it says you can only get them at a store, and that's it! Kind of sad way of ending all that waiting. Now if I want them I have to make aTRU run and dig around pegs for them.

That's seriously ridiculous! It says they're not even available for in-store pick up. Totally lame, and a total fail for DST. BBTS still hasn't gotten any in. I'll probably just stick with Beast Saga after this fiasco.

Man, like 'em or love 'em, it's sad to see that the Minimates Battle Beast launch has failed on several levels. Delays, delays, QC issues, not appearing in stores after said delays...

Toys R Us does this with a lot of products, saying that they are "available in stores" but not available online or for instore pick up. It's basically a place holder for them after the item has entered in their system. A lot of time, it shows that the item should start showing up on TRU.com for online order and in stores about a week or two later.

As for the LCS series, if you are looking to pick up it, I highly recommend Lukes Toy Store. I have dealt with him several times, and he is a pleasure to deal with and always gets stuff out very quickly.

Toys R Us gets "sample cases" of product that they put online, it sells out, then the listings sit there as out-of-stock until the full order hits the warehouse that maintains TRU.com inventory, it has been this way for years, especially with Minimates. As for the current delay, that is not the fault of DST. TRU does their store reset and inventory in January, so that is most likely the delay from these hitting Toys R Us stores and the website.

Good to know. I'll continue to check the site then.

I noticed the Moose/Bat is up on toysrus.com now. Yet still can't order them online or for store pick up. Lame, what year is this?

I got the Ram/Scorpion and Walrus/Snake packs at TRU today. Not sure if I'll get the other two. I don't like the bat and eagle, but the spider and moose look pretty cool.

They had new stuff for a lot of different toy lines today. My random TRU trip ended up being more expensive than I expected.

Haha, yeah I know how you feel. I specifically went for a pack of Battle Beasts--god, it feels good to say that again after all these years--and almost ended up taking home a variety of Mega Bloks figures with it. Must restrain...model train show in three weeks...

I decided on the Tarantula/Eagle, and must say, while I don't give toy reviews, I do agree with some of the points that have been made so far. Attached File  IMG_0216 (1024x768).jpg   347.61K   13 downloadsAttached File  IMG_0214 (1024x768).jpg   346.41K   11 downloads

Already the joints are loose, and therefore poseability is reduced. And obviously, Diamond Select meant for these to be collected and displayed, NOT played with, which reduces their worth to me almost immediately.
But what I don't hear enough is the praise for the obvious detail in the sculpts. They do look fantastic, with multiple weapons to choose from, and that somewhat makes up for it. I also have a confession to make: TRU had them all pegged under a different minimates price tag, resulting in a three dollar reduction. Couldn't resist. Should have grabbed two, but didn't want to press my luck.

So this is weird, but two of the four sets at Toys R Us are now available to be shipped home. The Ram/Scorpion and the Falcon/Tarantula.

Because he collects Minimates & he knows the ropes . Knowing that TRU.com lists one initial sample case of minimates online before the final stock levels are added is hardly a state secret ,it happens with each & every Minimate line . When the final levels of stock are listed the exclusive sets invariably sell out within a 24 hour period to hard core fans & the inevitable scalpers ,not surprisingly both Battle Beast TRU exclusives sold out in this manner. I know all this because I also know the ropes

Sorry it took so long for TRU to get them to stores and online. Not sure what held them up.

They often post a small quantity online before the full shipment arrives. It's likely that those sold out (very) quickly, leaving them out of stock for a while. Then, when the main shipment came in, the short-packed TRU exclusives (Gruntos/Scalpus and Antalor/Nychirix) sold out quickly AGAIN, leaving Vorin/Scorpus and Merk/Spidron by themselves, since they are more plentiful, as well as being more similar to what is available in the specialty assortment.

It's a pattern we see over and over with Toys "R" Us exclusive Minimates, which is why youbastards (a seasoned Multiverser) knows so much about it.

And before anybody says "why do it that way, then?" I'll just say that this arrangement has worked for us and for TRU for a while now. TRU likes people going to the stores to look for the chase figures, and we like having TRU stock Minimates!

And buttheadsmate beat me to it! Look at this, it's like a Battle Beasts/Minimates summit meeting in here.

I can't figure out why the reviewer keeps saying "squirrel" even after he/she acknowledges that it's a bat.

Because of these jokers.

Maybe we'll get a Moose Beast Saga figure... we do have a deer and a flying squirrel.
